I saw the YouTube video of a couple, and their teenage son, living in a 350 Square foot home! I liked the idea although my wife probably wouldn't go for it. We would trade 4000 square feet and have two kids and two large dogs. The family bought the house for $15,000.00...less than I paid for either of our cars and own their home free and clear. We pay over $2,300.00 per month. Nice to see that some people can live without excess. Could any of you do it?

I wish! I'm not sure how you would be able to stuff all the things you really need into such a small area. I guess you have to adjust your thinking about what you really need ;D and we've been trying to do that but it's hard! We're having a garage sale this weekend to try to get rid of a bunch of stuff that we've been hanging on to for years.

I am sure allot of people could seeing as many apartments are the same size.

No I wouldnt trade a bigger house for a smaller house. mine is 1500 square feet. But what hurts us is the 6 acres of land. we pay 1550 a month. I wish however when my boyfriend bought the house that he would have bought something that was built a little better and the house was finished before he moved in. there is still work that needs to be done and some damage that needs to be fixed.

I live in a double wide mfg home. I just did a little calculating. My master bedroom, master bath and walk in closet add up to 364 sq feet. I think I'll keep the whole place thanks.....I wouldn't have room for all my STUFF. LOL

i can't imagine an actual house that's 350 square feet,
considering i live in a one bedroom apartment (which
is double the size of that) and i still feel CRAMPED!
i guess i could if i had to, but not happily...

I dont think that I could live in 350 sq feet but I think I could live in a small house, I actually like smaller houses I believe they are easier to manage (less to clean, less energy to manage, cheaper bills, etc.) and the family is close and connected but 350 is a little small

Owning it free and clear sounds great, however I think i might go crazy in that size
-
I'm sure I can do it since its just me and my 4 month old dachshund but, I'm happy where I'm at anyways :)
-
I could probably do it......definitely would bring the family closer, that's for sure ;)

I do not see why people need huge houses, my husband and I are in a cramped apartment, yes, I could use a little more room for things, but not a huge house, people always want more than they need. That is problem with society, greed instead of need.

It seems like it sometimes with all of the stuff we have accumulated.

[It's amazing! I love that idea! I guess I'm happy about it because I hate cleaning, 350 square feet is right up my alley. I could have that baby sparkling in two hours. It's like a studio apartment with all the trimmings.Love it!/quote]

That's very tiny...our old house was 650 sq ft. Now we live with my hubby's grandma and we probably have 350 sq ft for our things.

I don't think it would be to bad if you were living by yourself. But if you had a family I think it could be quite difficult. You would have to make sure that you took your kids to the park a lot so they could get some exercise everyday.
-
I think that is really small. I lived in a 550 square foot apartment in college with my boyfriend and that was TINY. Certainly can't imagine doing that with a child!
-
I don't think I could handle 350 square feet....600 I think would be about the least I would be able to manage. :) The smallest place I have lived in so far was 900 but I think I could go smaller if I had to! But I would definitely have to have a BIG yard to compensate.

holy moly.. u sure do spend a crap load of money. i live in a 2 bedroom apt and we only pay 675.00/month and we're barely managing to make the rent payment. why dont u send me some money since u dont need all that stuff. ur spending way too much. we got a car payment of 300.00 a month and our utilities. we had to cut some things just to make ends meet. how the hell do u have so much money? we work our :bootyshake: off for the money we get and we still cant get by. it's stupid, annoying, and frustrating. like we're working for nothing. :bs: we had to apply for food stamps recently. :crybaby2:

that is a bit small. But our house is 1100 sq ft and would like to downsize. I was thinking of the 600 sq ft area as well.
-
I'm not expert on the subject but i don't think that is big enough to qualify as a home.

Some GREAT ADVICE for you and EVERYONE-----Find him on the radio, Go to one of his seminars, or go to his website Dave Ramsey. http://www.daveramsey.com
He is also on Facebook. He is fantastic. Gives the best financial advice of anyone, PERIOD. Has several books out. The total money makeover is probably the best one.

I could do that without a problem!! Less is more but i don't know if my cats would like it. They get to run all the way around our house without going through the same room twice. Its an older home but it is build pretty cool design inside. Wish the hallway was a little wider and my kitchen has 31 cabnets in it. This house is to big for us i think. :D
-
I don't think I could do it. My daughter has her piano and organ, there would be no room for them (unless my dh and I lived in the storage unit, LOL!!!)

I saw a TV segment recently on very small homes. I'm not sure if this was local or national news, but some were kind of cute. If you don't expect to really cook (I think the one shown I saw only had a sink) and are not are too materialistic I guess they would be bearable for a single person. I heard they run from $10,000 to $50,000.

I would go crazy, I need my room.
-
I am claustrophobic, so I would loose my mind. I can't stand to be in a crowd of people.

I lived in a 20X28=560 square foot cabin...it was too small!
