I am 53 years old and have never had my had colored but recently started using the non permanent type on my hair .... starting to see some grey!!! When I was in my 20's I put a little wash in color and it turned
orange so I have always been afaid of color since then.
-
Nope! I have never colored my hair. I do have some grey but not much.
-
I've never colored my hair, even though I started getting gray at just 18 years old. I"m now 33. It's just something that I don't really think about doing. When my friends ask me about it, I just tell them that I've earned each and every one of my gray hairs. ;D
-
i do and recently got a coupon for free John Frieda hair dye. Just had to pay tax.
-
Nope never colored it before, but i'm thinking about coloring it red sometime! ;D
-
I am 22 and have changed my hair color a few times. My hair is naturally a mousy brown, so in high school I got blonde highlights. I got tired of that and now color it an auburn shade. Depedning on the light, it looks dark red, dark brown, or has an almost maroon tint. It is so much prettier than my natural color, I love it! I am too scared to do any coloring myself, so I let my hairdresser do it even though it costs more.
-
I used to color my hair because I HATED the blonde that would show up during the summer and so I would dye it dark again. I have since stopped dyeing it because even the permanent was completely washing out and was a total waste of money.
-
never colored my hair. always had black hair.
-
yes i have coloredc my hair once blonde and once black my hair is natrual color is brown
-
I color my hair often but havent in forever because I am broke. My hair is a shade of brown but I love black hair so I get it colored black
-
yes i have colored my hair many times. the dark colors dont usually turn out to be what it looks like on the box.
-
Yeah I color my hair all the time. I am naturally a medium blonde, and I like it, but I love going red, light blonde, or what ever color catches my eye when I go to buy some. It is just a fun way to express my self
-
Used to color my hair which is very long but then it got impossible to keep up with, so I just let it go and now I am delighted with my new "natural" color and the freedom from the chore of coloring it. Now I would say were I not blessed with a color that I couldn't stand, it might be different.
-
Nope, never colored my hair, permanent or otherwise. Unless you count that one Halloween...
-
I decided to try the "blondes have the most fun" theory in my twenties. It really worked! Only lasted about 3 years as I got tired of colouring my hair every 6 weeks or so.
-
i dye it black around halloween time if i need that look
-
yes i always change it up but dyed it back to my natural color and do not plan on dying anytime soon
-
i color my hair all the time but recently stopped coz i didnt think it was an necessity. plus usually i dont have the money to buy hair dye and it always fades so i dont bother much anymore.

Wash in color isn't the same as fully dying it. Non-permanent is a safe way to try out what color looks good on you, but is more money out of your pocket! I suggest L'Oreal (Feria style is best, any color!). The regular boxes are for gray coverage especially, and the Feria type makes hair extra shiney and lusterous. I've been dying my hair for nearly 8 years!
-
I though of it at one point, but never really went through with it, my hair has a rich tone of Black for now.
So I guess I'll cherish it while I can.
-
yes i have colored my hair many of times. i just did it about a month ago.. it's like jet black!!
-
I constantly color my hair! its bleached blonde right now but I fell in love with black so I have to rinse it black, hard work to keep it black though. it seems to fade to green a lot.. ::)

I didn't start coloring my hair untill I was in my mid thirties. I did it for fun then. Now that I'm in my mid forties it's to over the gray. Early graying runs in my family.
-
I colored my hair one time. I also tried highlights. I really didnt like either so havent done it again.
-
Yes I color my hair to cover those pesty grey hairs that show up on the forehead of my hair but I try to use the color closest to mu natural haor color. I like to use the ION dye from Sallys hair supply, theirs is great and it last the longest.
-
Once, when I was a teenager. I have dark brown hair, and wanted to try out a red color. Ended up with dark red-brown hair; it actually looked pretty nice.
-
I colored my hair jet black one day years ago and it looked terrible. So much so I just decided to wash off the color and just have my natural colored hair of some gray. Never again will I color my hair unless I have to. :D
-
I have colored my hair several times through the years. In my twenties and thirties, it was for fun and a better look. Now that I am in my forties, I have to color it to hide the grey.
-
I have done it but I hate the roots showing. I think it's good to color gray hair though.
-
Yes...I have colored my hair several times. I have brown hair so i can not use any hair dye that says ash on the box or it will give me a red tent to my hair. I use the cheaper stuff it last a good while but it seems like it washes out over time. I havent done it lately im seeing gray strands everywhere. I kinda wish it would just go white. lol. :)
-
I have very little gray, but do color it every two months.
-
my hair is red now... spend $85 on cutting it and dying... hays
-
When I was younger I would bleach my hair from time to time. As far as when I start to go grey, I wouldn't even consider coloring my hair.

Yep, rainbow, though it doesn't look like it so much in this picture. Should have done like my twin and had the colors going down rather than around. :P
Sadly, fun colors don't stay in very long (except pink, it seems).
First time I'd gotten my hair cut in a ... very long time. So I figured why not get it colored as well? My nieces and sisters and even mom were toying with the idea of crazy colors, so since everyone was buying different ones, I just decided to mooch and use a little of them all ;D
-
I started going grey at 27 yrs old! Right now my hair is a purplish color but usually dye it my natural color which is dark brown. :cat:
-
yep my daughter dose my roots every 2 weeks or so.
-
I’ve only dyed my hair to a strawberry-blonde w/some highlights once. It certainly changed my image a 180 degree turn w/a sophisticated, modern-chic look. I have received many praises for my new look. After that, I would never do it again due to the chemical ingredients on hair dyes.
-
Yes used to color my hair which was auburn colored but then the sides became so resistant that it seemed that right away they and the roots were gray again and so I was trying to color it too often. My hair was always long and so I didn't know what to do just became tired of it so I cut all my hair off (which was down to my waist) and quit coloring it expecting it to be an ugly gray but much to my surprise and appreciation it is a silvery white and blond mixture and since I don't color it have let it grow back down to my waist. I get compliments on it all the time so I guess its ok. It is with me anyway -0)
-
No not yet, but maybe when i get older.
-
Yes, I can't believe there are women out there who NEVER have. I do highlights as well... It's a little treat I give myself every couple of months!

I have never colored my hair, but am planning on trying that soon.
-
no i dont color it i like my color.
-
Im 43, really starting to get some grays mainly on each side of my head so don't really like wearing my hair up right now. I have never put any coloring on my hair but have seriously been considering it, been looking but haven't decided yet.
-
I have colored my hair. I used to switch it up and try different colors. I prefer to use the non-ammonia type of hair colors.
-
I've always liked my natural brown hair. Whenever I vaguely considered dying it, I was too afraid whatever color I'd choose just wouldn't look as nice as my natural color. During the summer, when I do a lot of hiking outdoors, I get nice sun-bleached highlights. Didn't think any dye job would compare. I started getting some stray grey hairs in my 20's, and now at 41 I'm seeing a few more, but I kind of like it - (1) my hair is naturally straight - no body - talking permanents go straight days after "straight" hair...the consistency of the greys coming in are actually giving my hair natural body and I love it, and (2) the way the greys are scattered, it almost gives my hair a sparkly quality - like glitter - which I think is kind of a neat effect at the moment.
Not sure if I'll ever decide to dye - maybe check back with me in another 10 years. ;D
-
Unfortunately, if I were to color my head, it'd end up looking like this:

;D :D ;D
When I was sporting a goatee, I tried to color that, since the hair above my upper lip was very fair but darkened to a brown as it moved down to my chin.
-
Yes, I color my hair a lot. I have a lot of gray, well, white hair and I do not look good in white hair. Getting old is harsh.

Tigerlilly, if you are just now seeing a little grey at 53, you are very lucky!
My brothers have a LOT of grey.....they had grey showing in their 30's
I am not ready to be grey, so I do color my hair.
-
I'm 21 and I have been usein die in my hair sence I was 16 and have never had a problem
-
I generally avoid all hair colors. As far now i am 29,may be i would be needed when reach at 50-60..:)

I'm 56 years old and have colored my hair a number of times to cover the gray. When used properly it doesn't damage your hair. When I first started I used Henna which brought out the red high lights that were already in my hair and just made it more noticeable.
-
I started to have gray hairs showing in my late 20's.
Have been dying it for years.
The Clairol lady and me are best buddies ... LOL
-
I tried to do it at home once and it turned out badly so I always get it colored in a salon. Very expensive though.
-
I had it dyed bright red once, then completely black, and then it turned orangish to blondish. It was cool.
I'm a dude BTW 8)
-
Only my hair dresser knows for sure..............rofl
-
I've dyed my hair everything from black, brown, red(ish) and pink
-
I get highlights in my hair only maybe twice a year. I have naturally blonde hair and in the summer I don't have to get highlights the sun lightens it, Guess I just lucked out.
-
Nope not yet! But I would like to try highlights!
-
I've had my hair colored in the past. Haven't done it recently, although I would love to have it colored again soon. I just usually get highlights, and I try to pick natural colors.
-
The box colors you buy at the store will not look natural, can turn your hair orange. Try professional products/salons,
I like to have highlights/lowlites. Good luck!
-
Never had and never will, my hair is perfect the way God made it... :angry7:
-
Yes! A zillion of times!! Haha!
I have been coloring my hair for the past 15 years. I started coloring my hair at 15 when I was in high school. I used to dye it red because I was a huge Titanic fan and I wanted to look like Rose....lol. Sometimes, though, my hair would be so red that it was embarrassing to go to school. :-[
Then after the Titanic craze, I colored my hair black......that didn't go so well. I then started coloring my hair blonde and blonder and plantimun blonde and stayed with that color for about 5 years. Then my hair was so bad that I shaved my whole head and started over with my natural color which is this plain old brown color that I hate! :angry7:
So, I wasn't very happy with that for too long. Once my hair started to grow back, I went to a high end salon and my stylist colored my hair with definition colors to match my natural hair color. That was the best "hair time" I had....lol.
Later, my stylist moved and I lost contact with her, so now I have been coloring my hair for the past 5 years myself. Not too bad, I must say, with all of my experience. I am now a blonde. ;)
-
I never did and I don't think I am gonna do it either, I have a unique hair color its between dark brown and black its shinny and looks different, When I was in collage most of my friends wanted to have the same color like mine and they did try to mix some of the color grades to get the same color I have but it was kinda hard, the only thing I did some highlights in the front of my hair, the hair dresser suggested it in my wedding just to make something different and he said it will wear off in 2-3 months but it never did after 2-3 years It was still shown in the end of my hair and I cut it. I hate it because it kinda weak your hair and you'll never get your hair color back again unless you just cut the part you colored.
-
I have never colored my hair and don't think that I ever will unless I have to.
-
I colored my hair for years but finally quit because my hair was suffering so now I'm just gray and try not to look in the mirror.
-
I had hi lites done for the first time and love it. but not the stylist. she said she had to use lighter color cuz my hair was an ugly color, her exact words. i thought that was rude but i just let it go. she needs her job anyway.
