I'm not a good liar. But I don't always tell the whole truth; not that I lie, I just don't tell it all. Maybe that's lying by omission, I don't know. I just do the best I can to be honest all the time.   :)

Well it depends on who I'm talking to, my mood, and the subject. For example, if I'm feeling angry and my friend asks me to do something with them I'll lie and say I have work. But most of the time I TRY to remain honest...  :angel12:

Lying may seem easier at first, but the consequences that result are harder than just telling the truth at first, no matter how hard it is.

I'll share what my deceased mom shared with me about lying. " As long as you didn't kill anyone, there's no need to lie." Believe me, I know what you're saying "it's easier said than done."

Here's a joke, " some people lie like a  :fish: lol:-)

Lying is definitely easier. You can fabricate entire stories. I'm a pretty good liar so I can make things make a lot more sense than the truth sometimes when I lie. It just takes careful planning on the liars part not to contradict themselves ever.

Truth here.  It id difficult for me to lie even when I know it is something the person wants to hear (and in those cases I generally will try to avoid giving an answer if possible).  I don't have much use for people who lie when there is no reason to, as you can never trust them in even the slightest matters.  I also think there is significant psychological damage done by persistent dishonesty.  I know one person that tends to lie so much (usually for the sake of drama) that when the person tells the truth the person will get a baffled inward reflective look with a visual pause as if questioning the authenticity of what words were just uttered.  In fact this person cannot say  good morning without lying twice.

I find it easier to tell the truth. Only the truth will set you free.

Star Trek's "I, Mudd" episode?

Captain Kirk: "Harry lied to you, Norman. Everything Harry says is a lie. Remember that, Norman. *Everything* he says is a lie."
Harcourt Fenton Mudd: "Now I want you to listen to me very carefully, Norman. I'm... lying."
Norman: "You say you are lying, but if everything you say is a lie, then you are telling the truth, but you cannot tell the truth because you always lie... illogical! Illogical! You are human; only humans can explain!"

Telling the truth is certainly much easier because you have to KEEP on lying in order to preserve your previous lie, and so forth, and so forth. Eventually you will forget some detail in your lie causing the other person to suspect you are lying.

Honestly, it depends on the situation, who I'm providing the information to, and the consequences.

I find that we all lie at times, some more than most, unaware or even hastily. Lying has always been easier to accomplish when faced with
intimidation or fear which seems backwards, because these are the times you'd expect people to speak the truth.
In most occasions it would seem best to speak the truth or no respond at all.

I can't lie when I'm talking to someone.  I've never been able to keep a straight face, so I haven't tried since I was a kid.  My fiance always says I'm too honest about what I think when talking to other people (I'm blunt too), but there's no point trying to lie.

The problem with telling lies is trying to remember what they were and who you told them too.
