Title: Do you like how stores skip over Thanksgiving decorations?
Post by: Skyisbluetoday on November 20, 2011, 12:08:12 pm
I've gone shopping lately, I've noticed that since Halloween the stores seemed to have skipped over Thanksgiving decorations. Now days mostly Christmas. I love both Holidays, but seems to me Thanksgivings decorations going away.  :(

there are definitely less fall/thanksgiving decor
compared to halloween and christmas, and i assume
it's because the window of time that they could be
displayed wouldn't be worth it (looking at it from
the stores' point of view)

...i work at party city and we put our fall stuff out
when we put out halloween, though. i've seen a few
stores do that (like craft stores). you have to hunt
them down to find them, lol.

That is what I saw. Thanksgiving and haloween out at the same time. they have to do something to get more money so why not start christmas decorations early to get people to spend more.

it doesnt change my spending. I dont go out to look at them unless I need to go to grocery store.

thanksgiving is every day for me. as it should be for everyone. not just one commercialized day. every day be grateful.

I, too, have noticed over the years the Thanksgiving holiday slowly being sqeezed out.  I mainly only see the Thanksgiving/fall decor in grocery stores vs department stores.  So sad, IMO.

I hate this. Thanksgiving is probably my favorite Holiday. Christmas is too stressful. Plus fall is probably my favorite season. With the color of the leaves changing and all I think it's always beautiful outside in the fall.

Yep if you are going to get any Thanksgiving, autumn/fall decorations you better look alot and then *bleep* up what you find because they are going to be few and far between.  I don't know, maybe I'm crazy but I don't get all the halloween decorations because it seems at least in our area, no one much observes halloween - a random house here and there and all the kids walk through "town" because all the shops give out candy on halloween but none-the-less stores are full of it but like you said it isn't easy to find the fall/autumn/thanksgiving stuff.  And Christmas has been out here since before Halloween CRAZY  :BangHead:

Yeah...perhaps they feel there's not enough time between Thanksgiving and Christmas to prepare decorations.....oh, and Thanksgiving music? Does it exist? Should it?

It is pretty strange that stores pretty much forget about this holiday.  I find it pretty bad that some stores have xmas stuff out already before Halloween.

I don't like it or dislike it, but I do think it is understandable.  There is a lot bigger market for christmas decorations than thanksgiving.  It is all about the money.
