I love dogs and cat. Why is because they both are to companion. I rather have a dog myself. But like I said, both are wonderful to have. :wave:

Post by: lbryanwf on December 07, 2011, 08:02:05 pm: I have 2 rescue cats, Axel and Alley (short for Alley cat). My Doctors office found them at 6 weeks old playing too close to traffic. There was a total of 6 kittens but they could only catch 4, and I took 2. They are a year and a half old, and they are total indoor cats and sweet and loving. They are spoiled and I even have pet insurance for them.

Due to the recent passing of one of my older cats
and my beloved 15 year old German Shepherd I am
down to 3 cats and one dog.

I love them all ... animals give such unconditional love
and my 2 year old puppy is extremely entertaining.

I believe it. Having the dogs forces me to get out and walk them which adds to a better and more consistent health regimen from the get go. These two dogs play with each other and always bring a smile to my face. People who meet the dogs are brightened by their beauty and personality. They are costly but so is any other type of entertainment and I get the intangible benefit of unconditional love in return.

I have had at least one cat all my life up until about 3 years ago when I had 3 and met my now husband.... He is allergic and when we got married I had to find homes for my babies. I love pets but I also love the freedom of not having to care for them and find a sitter when we are on vacation.

Cats seem to have a mind all their own and I guess dogs do too but, you can do more with a dog. I got prince about five or six years ago as his former owners left him to fend for himself. It took him a while to warm up to me but, once I got him in my apartment and fed him he was all mine. :)

Post by: workmama on December 29, 2011, 06:26:40 am: I love cats.....but unfortunately where I live right now, I cannot have any pets whatsoever. I think taking care of a dog would be much harder. I once had a cat and loved him so much. He helped me when I couldn't hear certain things, or he would wake me up in the morning. I sure do miss him. The only thing I don't like about having a cat or dog is they are just like having another baby.....you have to feed, clean, play and nurture them constantly for them to be content and build a loving relationship with them. Of course, I would still have a cat someday.....when I get my own house, that is. ;D
