Is anyone else having trouble with getting credit from the search feature on the toolbar? For the last 4 days, I have been unable to get any credit for searching, even though they are legitimate searches that I am doing. Every one of my searches have been for a reason. :crybaby2: :dontknow:

I am also having trouble with toolbar searches today. All are INVALID. It always worked before for me.

Mine has always worked, the only time I have seen my search was invalid is if I do the exact same search again (which I do sometimes by clicking the back button after viewing a result).
I do not know why it would say ALL your searches are invalid, it must be some sort of glitch. If I was you, I would uninstall the toolbar completely, then reinstall it and see if that fixes it. If that still didnt work I would send a support ticket to FC informing them of the problem.

Me too.. well let me rephrase... I couldn't even get my toolbar to load my searches.
My lag has become HORRIBLE since I downloaded the toolbar.
I am going to try and uninstall and reinstall.
though.... the day before.. which was.. today is still thurs... so wed.. I believe I only had 1 search go through. And I ONLY searched on there all day... I did not use any of my other search bars I get paid to use or win points on. And just "1"

Uninstalled, reinstalled. No change, no credit. Uninstalled. May try again if it is ever fixed.

Has anyone been able to download it on mobile? I do all my FC on my phone. Maybe is there a certain browser u have to download. I have android, if anyone knows please let me know.

cant get mine t show in IE on desktop. it says installed

Haven't had a problem really, I'd u search for the same thing 2x in a row or very similar searches I get invalid.. But I guess that's a precautionary measure so ur not just putting in nonsense for te credit... Gotta really use it for searches..

I've not had any problems with it lately. But I have discovered that you each search has to be very different- no similar searches ie same search words.
I love this feature since I am always looking for info on the internet. :wave: :peace:

I have gone back and checked. I have earned 8 cents for 43 searches. My number of searches increases as well as my earnings but I am not earning one cent for every four searches.

The reason for this is that some of your searches were flagged by the automatic system as invalid. When there is one invalid search, that spoils the whole "4-search basket". It's a little complicated so I will try an example:
- You install the toolbar and after a while you've made four valid searches, earning you one cent. The counter displays: "4 searches >> 1 cent".
- You make another valid search, and then immediately after that you search for the same phrase again. The system flags that search as invalid. The counter displays: "6 searches >> 1 cent" (because the counter reflects ALL searches, not just valid ones)
- You make two more valid searches, bringing your total to 8; however, you are not credited the 1c since one of your searches in the "4-search basket" was invalid. The counter displays: "8 searches >> 1 cent" (again, it's counting all searches even though one wasn't valid)
- Over the next day you make four valid searches, bringing your total to 12. You are credited the 1c for making a set of four valid searches. The counter displays: "12 searches >> 2 cents"
I hope this illustrates how your toolbar counter can display numbers that don't seem to add up. It's because the searches are treated as packages of four, and all four must be valid to earn the 1c. And also because the counter increases for each and every search, even invalid ones. You have had 8 valid "4-search baskets" credited, two "4-search baskets" invalidated, and you have made 3 out of 4 searches in your current "basket". Assuming the last 3 searches you made were valid, you should earn a cent with your next search.

So simply put, you have to make 4 valid searches in a row to earn 1cent. Any invalid search in each set of searches (4 searches), invalidates that whole earning group.

I think that that is correct, Divinity 82. So a FC member has to be very careful when making searches if you want to earn your penny. I think I now understand how the searches work or at least I better understand. :)

That's the bottom line.
We're working on simplifying this, but that's what we've got for now.

Well than mine is really not working then because my counter is not even moving from 141 searches. It has been stuck there for almost 2 weeks yet every day I try to do some searches. So mine is not even counting the invalid ones. (Which I have had non stop for at least 2 weeks now)
I have submitted a support ticket but no one has gotten back to me yet.

Well, I have finally figured out how to do searches and earn my one cent. it is working ok for me now. Took a little work and thinking to figure it out. ;D
jorhea. Maybe you should uninstall your tool bar and then install again. Or maybe you should reboot your computer. Even if you did not earn any extra money, you should see number of searches increase. I am not very tech savvy. I wish that i could be more help. I hope that your support ticket gets answered soon. :dontknow:

Thanks for the suggestion but I got a new laptop a couple days ago and installed the toolbar on my new laptop and still the same problem. Every search is invalid and my counter has not moved.

Well that is clear as mud. I am sure I do not still understand. I just search now, now worring about it. Many seem to be invalid and then one gets through. 30 searches so far and only 2cents credited. But at least it is 2 cents more than I had before.
