Guys,
I had to see this for myself and it's happening on Craiglist as well as on eBay. On eBay there was an auction for
12 cronuts and the bid started at $1.99 so far lasttime I checked, the bid was at $20.00.
I'm wondering how much people are being charged for two or can you only purchase them from the people that are
willing to deliver them to you by the dozen.
If it's such a demand, it must be worth the time and effort and
profit to charge $20.00 for two.
I'm thinking gas, travel time plus your time for standing inline could cost up to $40 bucks, so what do you guys think?
The cronut only cost $5.00. Maybe I will start a cronut delivery service and advertise on Fusion Cash, who's with
me?

NO!

I live in the country. :) What is a cronut?

A cronut is doughnut dough mixed with croissant dough if they had a baby, it would be called
a cronut. So it's soft like a croissant but it looks like a doughnut.
The problem is people are going wild over them and buying them and selling them at black market prices.

I don't understand this cronut thing. If you want something bad enough I guess you do whatever to get it.

I think it depend. if people go crazy about it and how many is the seller selling, people will bidding for them. First check how many of it? Is that a set? If cronut each cost $5 and the seller selling 10 for low starting price sure people would like to bid on it. You might want to check how much for shipping too. If it free shipping
that one other thing people would like to bid on the items
-
You are not the only person wanting to know: "What's a cronut?" I certainly want to know who would want to spend $20 for an item, whatever it is, that costs $5.00. :o ??? :o
-
I'm amazed that they're selling for that much, considering anyone can make them on their own for much less!
-
For those who were wondering what a cronut is it's half crossaint half donut:

I didn't even know what they were until seeing them on Inside edition yesterday. I've heard they are excellent, but I would never pay $20-40 for one. I would be hard pressed to pay $5 which I have heard is being charged for one. I'd rather take my chances and try to make my own before paying $20-40. $40 could pay a bill for me and that would be better use of the money for me.

I love this idea. In our area there is a place called Voodo Dohnuts. People line up like crazy. They are good, they are expensive, and the hype is what draws people. Like the Maple and Bacon on top. But well I probably can't say it is called Co......k and B.....lls with cream, etc. and the ladies always get this one. But yeah, they have expanded. Yes Downtown Portland Oregon, where there motto is keep Portland Weird. Well Google it.
-
It depends on how bad you need it.
-
I had never heard of a cronut before this but I definitely wouldn't pay $20.00 for one. I'm not sure I would even pay $5.00. I don't know how these fads get started but people do seem to do crazy things over fads.
-
No thanks. I'll stick with Dunkin Donuts or Krispy Creme.
-
Like others above, I never heard of this "cronut" thing. Thanks for the explanation. No way I would pay $20 for them after hearing what it is...or even $5 for that matter. Definitely a fad. I'd probably try my hand at making my own for that money vs buying a couple for that price.
This reminds me of the whole Krispy Kreme fanaticism a few years back. Now they're just "ordinary" like any other doughnut shop. This phase too will pass...
-
What is a cronut? Never heard of it.

That's ridiculous!!!! No donut or croissant is worth that kind of money!!!! If you want them so bad - find a recipe and MAKE THEM YOURSELF - A WHOLE LOT CHEAPER I BET!!!!
-
If they ever get near to where I live, I will wait until the price comes down. By that time, they will probably be cheaper, anyway.
-
First of all have no idea what a cronut is but someone told me its a spin off on a donut or is a pastry of some kind and my answer is no -don't have that much money - they must be awful good.
-
I suppose if you could guarantee fresh and fast delivery it might be worth it. :dontknow:
-
sounds delicious but do you know how many groceries you could buy with $40? You could make hundreds of them yourself for that price
-
That's insane.... I wouldn't pay that much!!!
-
I had never even heard of them until today in this forum.
-
First of all I would not pay $20 for something that costs only $5 and also that I have never ever heard of.
-
No I can't, but I guess some people have enough money it is like maybe only like a dollar is to me. Oh well.
-
I learn so many new things on this forum. Keep it comin'. ;D
-
it aint worth it for 25 bucks to post and ad for free money sites like this..

What is a Cronut?
-
I don't even know what a cronut is. Sometimes you can get good deals you just have to pick the right ones to participate in
-
Some people will buy anything. The crazier the better.
-
You can sell anything for any price as long as there is someone willing to pay that price. As for me, no I would not.
-
Obviously those who would pay such an asinine price for a donut doesn't have a problem with the economy. But If I could afford it I would not pay that amount for a cronut.
-
That's crazy...why would anyone want to spend that kind of money on a donut? Sounds good to eat but wouldn't buy it off ebay. Never know about the quality.
-
heck no!
-
Sounds like there some kind of cronut shortage.
-
I DON'T EAT DONUTS MYSELF BUT TO EACH THERE OWN I GUESS,AND IF I DID I WOULDN'T PAY EVEN $2 FOR ONE
-
Have no idea what a 'cronut' is, which is fine with me. Not knowing of this I can't develop some irrational yearning for it! Thus I don't need to feel bad about wasting my time or money on it. At times, ignorance is indeed bliss! ;D

Probably A Cro That Loses a Nut, Someone Picks It Up And Sells It. :bootyshake:

No lol ! Honestly people need to learn to freaking cook hahaha ! I would rather have a pake any way!
-
For those of you that don't know what it is it is basically croissant pastry dough made into a doughnut. Nothing to spend an arm and a leg on.
-
I live in the country. :) What is a cronut?
Seriously, that was my question also. No clue whatsoever, so I'm glad you asked and glad I learned what it was. Learn something new every day!
-
No not ever.

I personally think the whole thing is ridiculous!!! Who in their right mind would spend $5.00 for a "cronut" - answer = only those who have nothing better to do with the money. Well, sadly, I can think of a lot better things to do with $5.00 - especially if you can "afford" to throw it away on some silly faddish food - GO BUY A HOMELESS PERSON A DELICIOUS SANDWICH WITH THE $5.00 - DEFINITELY BETTER WAY TO SPEND IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
Ok I live in the city and I just don't understand this cronut thing either. ??? :o :-
