Hi everyone,
Do any of you ever get caught in a survey that just goes on and on? If so what do you do about it?
I had one today that said 20 minutes. After 35 minutes, I was 20% done. I just stopped and went to another.
Your solutions and comments please.

some surveys seem longer than others....once you do a few of them you start to get the hang of them and they never take as long as it says.....You should not have given up....You used 35 minutes of your time to get that far you should stick it out....some surveys don't update the progress very well....I have done surveys that have stayed at 25% for the longest time and then the next question its is at 80%. Good luck
Keep at it

This happens a lot with surveys.Earlier today, before I went on FC,I did a survey on another site that took over an hour.Surveys do vary in length depending on the subject and the company conducting the survey. Some of them like to repeat questions or ask the same question in slightly different ways. Also, you can't take the estimated time on the survey invitation too seriously. Most take longer than the time stated on the invitation, but there's not much we can do about that. You must finish a survey to get paid for it,so always stay and finish the survey once you have started, even if it feels like it has gone on too long.

I took a survey the other day that took me close to 2 hours because it kept having errors. It was worth $3 so I just stuck with it
Some surveys don't update the progress very well. I've gone from being at 20% for a good 10 questions then it's at the end with the classification questions. I generally don't just quit surveys unless they're really boring and not worth very much.

I can almost always multiply the stated survey time by three! I don't qualify for many, so maybe I don't have enough experience to be any faster at taking them. Once I have qualified, I'm so delighted that I'm willing to stay as long as it takes! I just keep thinking, "It can't be that much longer."
-
I have had that happen also. It gets frustrating at times, but I keep trying til the end. :dog:

I don't think there's anything you can do about that; but exactly what you did, come out of it and maybe go to another one, that's if you even feel like it after being on one that long. The bad thing is, I bet you it was probably for .25 or the most .50 and that's crazy. Then you better hope you get credited after completing it, I've had too many bad experiences with doing surveys so I stopped doing them.

I don't have a lot of patience for surveys that go on and on forever like they are looping you around and around. So I do what you did, evaluate the time invested vs. the reward and move on. I used to be a bit more trusting but shortly after I started here, I began reading the forums and found that a good number of others were experiencing the same thing so I learned quickly to just skip those and not even frustrate myself with starting them. Good luck to you

Thanks everyone.
I just got frustrated at the endless, inane, and ridiculous questions.
I will keep trying and see if I can improve my rating.

I have done some that seem to ask the same question 10 times, just worded differently. I quess they are trying to trip you up so they can dis qualify you.
-
Jeebus, after 35 minutes only 20%??? That seems a little ridiculous. I did one once that jumped from like 50% to 100% in one question.
-
Yeah that can be annoying. I never seem to qualify for the longer surveys so it doesn't mean much to me, but it would be nice if all the surveys had a more accurate completion time listed.

Yes, sometimes I think the questions will never stop. But I just keep on answering and I do get to the end. The time they say the survey should take is never the same for me. It's always longer. I think maybe I am just slow. :BangHead:

Surveys seem to be very tricky. I got to the point where I just stopped doing them because I would do these long drawn out surveys and then wouldn't get credit. They say three strikes your out and after not getting credit for those long surveys three times, I stopped doing surveys. Good luck with the surveys, but you may had done the best thing when they are that long, just quit. It seems these survey companies take advantage when they make those surveys so long. When they are very long like that, I think they should pay more. Trust me, they're getting good money for the research they do for these companies.

don't give up somtimes I get frustrated and want to give up bcuas it taks so long to do but I think of how much I am making and it adds up to my balanc e so I
will be able to cashout end of month Have patience

There are some that tend to go on for quite a bit longer than first indicated. But as others have stated many of these are not all that accurate on a real time basis of just how far you are in the progress. I stay with them if I have time invested and most of them work out OK. The ones that really tick me off are the ones that you KNOW you have fully completed accurately and at the end the give you this 'we have all the responses of this type' garbage!! Makes me want to hunt someone down and do bodily harm to them!! ;D

Yeah the surveys are kinda unfair I have yet to pass one
