Just about any song I've heard recently or that I get reminded of will stick in my head.
My only relief is to repeatedly sing, "This is the song that never ends" until my brain lets go of the song that was stuck. ;D
That almost always takes care of it. And no, the other song goes away like magic.
This is a phenomenon that does not improve with age, I'm sorry to say. :sad1:

Some nights by Fun
I think everyone has had that to happen to them at one time or another. My song was "Don't Worry, Be Happy" when it first came out. What I really hate is when you get one stuck in your head and you can't remember all the words. You just know one line or something. It is really hard to get it out of your head when that happens ,too! People will look at you all crazy eyed. I hate it! LOL!!!!

-
Ever have a song stuck in your head? What was it?
Yep, it's an "earworm" (see this interesting article about them: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Earworm (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Earworm)). I had seen on FB the other day that trying to solve a riddle or a Sudoku puzzle can help get rid of them, so it was nice to read in that article that that actually has some scientific basis for that "life hack".
Usually I'll get them if I'm singing the refrain to a song, but instead of continuing onto the next verse, I end up repeating the refrain and get lost in an endless loop. The last time that happened was to Bastille's "Pompeii".
-
As of right now, I have "gives you hell" stuck in my head.
-

I frequently get a part of a song stuck in my mind -- it's usually the last song I heard before I turned the radio off (or whatever source of the music). Then it stays with me -- humming the melody -- until I hear another song to replace it.
Usually I don't know the name of the song, or the words, and sometimes the melody suffers but I have fun with it.
-
Lately I keep getting the same thing stuck in my head. It's the song from a commercial. The new commercial for Captain Morgan's white rum. It's so annoying, and it's only a few words + the tune that sticks.

I get songs stuck in my head like there's no tomorrow! But recently, it's been that John Legend song, I think it's called All of You. I don't even like the song. It's just that the radio station at my job does nothing but repeat songs, including that one, and by the time 4:00 rolls around, I've heard it like 5 times and it's stuck in my head all night! D'oh!

I often have great songs stuck in my head, but my favorite story is of my husband who works in an office. He works in a supervisory role and it is quite a male orientated environment. He had that song from the Lego Move stuck in his head and kept singing it at work unknowingly... "Everything is awesome". Obviously it would be nice to have something from Usher or Katy Perry stuck in your head but no, he had the Lego Movie song stuck in his head. What was funny was other people started humming it in his office.

-
I get various songs popping into my head (and often times sticking around for too long). Some of them I know why they're popped into my head (usually because I recently heard them) and others they really just come from nowhere. It's the ones that come from nowhere (when I have no inkling as to why they're there) that are typically bizarre experiences for me. Just a few days ago, this song I'm pretty sure I haven't heard in a very very long time got stuck in my head. I don't know who sings it or what it's called but the only part I can remember goes like this: "Abra, abra, kadabra... I wanna reach out and grab ya.." hahaha I have no idea where it came from either! But it made me laugh when I realised that line was repeating itself in my head. Sometimes I even wake up with a song in my head like I was listening to it while asleep and woke up in the middle of it because it never happens where the song just starts from the beginning when I wake up, it's like I was already hearing it in my head and just wasn't conscious of it. Seriously, I have a radio of the strangest sort stuck inside my head, and it's got it's own twisted sense of humour. ::)
-
Yes all the time i get songs stuck in my head and they are mostly the annoying ones. Most of them are taylor swift songs!!!!!!
-
Manic Monday by The Bangles. I heard it over the weekend and last night and I have been singing these words (just another manic Monday I wish it was Sunday) from the song everyday.
-
I continue to rotate different songs in my own head based on what I hear that is relatively newer and I feel is catchy and/or meaningful. At the moment, I don't have any like that, but recently this was "All That Bass" by Meghan Trainer and "Shake It Off" by Taylor Swift.

-
all the time,,,lol....
-
Ever since last night's Super Bowl commercials I have had the song "This Land is Your Land" stuck in my head. I have not heard that song in a long time until last night. This song was used in the ad for Jeep Renegade. It was playing in the background while the Jeep Renegade was crisscrossing the country and showing all the beautiful scenery along the way. One of the better Super Bowl ads.
-
I am in the choir at my church and we are studying and all last night I went to sleep with the song and woke up with the song in my mind. I was at work and I was humming it, so yea I know what you mean.
-
For some reason--some STRANGE reason--the earworm I ended up with today was, "Making Love Out of Nothing At All" by Air Supply. And I'll bet a shiny new nickel I haven't thought of that song in at least 20 years.

For some strange reason once I saw a picture of Martina McBride, I couldn't get Love’s the house out of my head.
-
I was thinking about Whitney Houston's daughter Bobbi being in the hospital and the doctors not knowing if she will ever wake from her coma and suddenly Where do broken hearts go came into my head.
-
Was watching the video for Home by Dolly Parton (her latest single) when I will always love you by Whitney Houston popped into my head.
-
Was just thinking how artists of today are just as fleeting as the technology we use. Like as soon as we learn the artist's name they aren't on the charts anymore. That's when I thought of people who were around for decades and I have nothing by Whitney Houston popped into my head.
-
Was in a sneaker store, one of those that has a tv, and the music video for it’s not right by Whitney Houston came on. I had that song stuck in my head the rest of the day.
-
I was watching on of the last interviews Whitney Houston did when suddenly My love is your love popped into my head.
-
I was just thinking how, if Whitney Houston was alive, would she react to Bobbi being in the hospital in a coma with hope of her recovery slimming by the day when Heartbreak Hotel popped into my head.
-
I was just thinking about my grandma the other day (she passed back in 2011) and of all the artists' music she introduced me too and then her favorite song Suspicious minds by Elvis popped into my head.
-
Blue suede shoes- Elvis
-
All shook up- Elvis
-
I know they released solo albums, but I was listening actually to a Kristen Bush song and Stuck like glue by Sugarland popped into my head. I so wish they would get back together.
-
I miss really good songs. Song that actually get stuck in my head and I can’t get them out until I hear them. Then Graceland by Paul Simon popped into my head and I just thought, oh well, there are so many old songs that do who needs new ones?
-
Was looking through my CD collection and stumbled on my Graceland album and Call Me Al by Paul Simon popped into my head.

-
She’s a butterfly- Martina McBride
-
Honestly, anything by Meghan Trainor gets stuck in my head. Her songs are infectiously, joyous and bring back an era of just fun songs. They aren’t clogged with synthesizers or weird electronic sounds that distort her voice. I really miss having catchy little tunes (that can sometimes border annoying) that will get stuck in your head. I hope she inspires others to make this kind of simple music.
-
I was actually watching Carrie Underwood’s performance of Independence day and wound up with Martina McBride’s version stuck in my head the rest of the day.
-
I can’t explain it but this morning I woke up and I couldn’t stop hearing Rose Colored Glasses by Kelly Rowland stuck in my head. It’s so weird. I think they call it an earworm. Anyway it wouldn’t go away until I actually played the song, which is what ‘experts’ say to do to get rid of it.
-
I was just thinking about how I had a favorite female singer for country music and a favorite female pop singer (Whitney Houston) and a favorite male singer for country music (Collin Raye) but no favorite male singer for pop then Easy lover by Phil Collins popped into my head.
-
You know, nothing recent, I mean no modern day song gets stuck in my head outside of something by Meghan Tainor. It’s like gone are the days of a catchy beat and simple rhymes that you could say, sing in the shower to. It’s all synths and drum machines with rhymes so thick you can hardly hear what is being said. I think the only recent song that forces itself into my head now is really Love me like you do by Ellie Goulding. I honestly think its her best but I think I hear it simply because of Fifty Shades of Grey. I run into either advertisements for it or see the dvd and it comes into my mind.
-
Nothing gets stuck in my head faster than a song from the 80’s. Honestly, what song from the ‘80’s doesn’t get stuck in my head? I mean there were so many great ones! 867-5309 Jenny, Karma Chameleon, Summer of ’69, Born in the USA, Mony mony, Girls just wanna have fun… I truly miss those days, not because I want to relive my ‘Glory Days’ but because back then the songs were so infectious that after the song was done you kept hearing it as if it were playing on and on and you could dance to it forever. Most songs now-a-days don’t even inspire that kind of feeling. Which perhaps is why artists of today don’t last long. It’s as if as soon as you learn their names, they aren’t on the charts anymore.

One Saterday morning I woke up and it was really strange but I just couldn’t get Megan Trainor’s ‘My Lips are Movin’ out of my head. Now I know she’s the type of artist that you either love or you hate. I personally love her because she’s got that old 1960 vibe going on with her sound. I might be biased because I like the ‘60’s music but I like her. That particular morning, though I just couldn’t get her song out of my head, particularly the line that goes, ‘I might be young, but I ain’t stupid.’ I wasn’t even thinking about her and no I didn’t go to sleep the night before listening to her music. Weird.
-
Have to say I’ve never been a Taylor Swift fan but then when you wind up in a situation like she sings about then yeah, she makes perfect sense. Like Bad Blood. When that song first came out I honestly thought it was a stupid song with a way overpriced video. Then I wound up in a relationship where a ‘really deep cut’ was made and yeah ‘Band-Aids don’t fix bullet holes.’ So now whenever I talk to that person or see their face ‘Bad Blood’ plays in my head. I even changed their ringtone on my phone to ‘Bad Blood’.
-
My friend is finally in a good relationship and a state of happy bliss that I’ve never seen him in for a long time so I, for one am happy for him. The problem is everyone else constantly rains on his parade. It isn’t about his girlfriend as much as everyone (including his parents) think they are moving way too fast. He recently gripped about it and the only song that kept playing over in my head was Taylor Swift’s ‘Shake it off,’ especially the line, ‘haters gonna hate, hate, hate.’
-
Ever since I heard Little Mix’s Black Magic, that song has been stuck in my head whenever I have a moment of quiet to myself. Not that it drives me crazy or anything but I just can't make it stop.
-
You Make Me Feel Like A Natural Woman by Carol King.
-
Arlo Guthrie, City of New Orleans.
I watched a bunch of his videos last night on youtube, and that's the one that stuck...
-
It is currently Carol of the bells
-
Well, whatever my kids are humming....
-
Hotline Bling by Drake. Everyone at my job is playing and/or singing it. And it is a constant on the radio station. It was only a matter of time before the song decided to take up residence in my head, LOL.
-
My cousin was with me the other day, and repeatedly he would play and sing the same song. Shortly after I found myself singing it, I had such an hard time shaking it that I refuse to even try to remember it right now.
-
One that I can think of (recently) that gets stuck in my head anytime I hear it is Shut Up And Dance by Walk The Moon.
-
Alices' Restaurant
Still stuck in Arlo Guthrie mode lol
-
:santa:This month it's Christmas songs! :santa:

All the time. Too many to name. In fact, it happens almost daily. I have this weird thing where I wake up with a song in my head nearly every day.
