Do you prefer to live in a house, apartment or a condo and why? :moneymouth: :rose: ???

A house for sure one with a back yard is nice more costly .Lived in apartments and can be noisy at times.I suppose condo's would be the same.

I pefer living in a house because I can do to it anything I want to it.

We live in a house with a big back yard. Hubby is home now, the backyard is being turned into a RC car track. :present:

I live in a house, which is part of 110 acres. I have lived in an apartment and have always wanted to live in a condo. I think of a condo having all the room I need to put everything. :thumbsup: :thumbsup: :thumbsup:

i have lived in an apartment and a condo and now live in a house--i would have to say i love my house!! i love being able to go outside and no one in my face!! i can walk in my yard and play music loud and no one to complain!! i will admit its a lot of work to keep the yard up and we have a garden and the trees and shrubs trimmed and mulched but i just love it!!

i live in an apartment right now but I would prefer a one family house, where you have a backyard for bbq's and parties. an apartment is cramped and you have t put up with neighbors that you don't know.

I definitely prefer living in a house as opposed to an apartment or condo. With a house that you own you can make any updates or changes that you want to make without the approval of someone else, plus if you are in a nice quiet neighborhood you have peace and serenity. :)

A single family house. I can do what I want, when I want. We have a nice backyard fir picnics, etc. no one telling me what I can do, no neighbors playing loud music, no noisy neighbors.

We own a house on 33 acres, most wooded. Great deer hunting and watching! We love our place. :heart:

Apartment for now - hopefully a house later when I settle down

We live in an apartment but are more than likely going to buy our first house next April. We have been wanting to buy a house for awhile now so hopefully all goes according to plan next yr!

Definitely a house. From the ages of 3 to 15 we had a house but then we had to move. And then for the next 10 years we lived in a duplex. Had to deal with bad neighbors and landlords who really cheaped out when it came to fixing things. Like in January 2012 my ceiling caved in. Actually fell on top of me when I was sleeping. Fortunately I had a bunk bed at the time and was sleeping on the bottom. The landlords gave us the run around for months. The giant hole in my ceiling wasn't fixed until October of that year. Plus no backyard and no real freedom to do what we wanted with it. We're living in a house again and I'm grateful for that.

Getting a house is the American dream...I prefer living in a house...I get to have my own yard space and so on.

I prefer a house. You don't normally have to listen to your loud neighbors like in a condo or apartment, and if you have a parcel of land - that is even better.

at this point, with a family, a house is the way to go....maybe a condo when I'm retired

I have never ever even lived in anything other then a house, I can not imagine that I would like a apartment or a condo better, it just a simple mater of space

I've never lived in a condo before - however I have done work in a couple. By far my favorite lifestyle so far is apartment living. Probably because both times I lived in an apartment they were designed with a little more privacy than your typical apartment building. First apartment was an upstairs apartment my Mother owned. It was a house her and my Dad split in two. The whole time the downstairs was being worked on so I never had to deal with "neighbors." The apartment I'm in now has 4 units. 2 up front and 2 in back. I'm in back and we have a huge backyard. Our own outdoor storage. My neighbors are family so it doesn't even feel like we're in an apartment 1/2 the time.

Condo, cheaper and safer. Easy to take care than the house I think

I think house will be my choice. I think that more freedom and can do anything my way more. Without anyone have their comment about it.

I used to live in an apartment but I have lived in a house for 4 years, I prefer house because of obvious reasons like space and freedom.

I prefer to live in a house with a big back yard. We live in an apartment right now, and space is really tight.

House. Separate unit and a heck of a lot quieter than a condo or apartment.

i prefer to live in a house. not only do you not have to worry that a noisy neighbor is going to move above you also dont have to worry about sharing a way like you would in an apartment or townhouse. not only that but you can do what ever you want to your house and typically your yard within reason of course on the yard. also with a condo not only do you have insurance your house payment but you also have association fees which can be quite hefty. unless you are older or are unable to take care of a yard why wouldnt you just put that money into a savings account each month or buy a larger house instead of giving it to the association?

Definitely a house because you have more privacy and I like to have a yard to go out into. Also it is mine and no one can tell me what I can and can't do to it.

I feel that living in a house is way better. Mainly because we can do what we want there. Unlike an apartment or even a condo. Some condos are nice, but a house is the place.

Definitely depends where you're at in life. If you have a family then a house would best suit you. If you are a single bachelor, there are less responsibilities involved with an apartment. For me, it's just a dorm room though. Gotta love college...

I prefer to live in a house than an apartment or a condo. It seems to suit my family a lot better than having an apartment or condo.

A house. It's better than an apartment because you have the chance of owning it later on. I think the same goes for a condo.

I like apartment because my sister owns it. I am behind her house.

We've lived in our own single family home for many years but I still remember moving in to our first house. This was after living in apartments for the first 6 years of our marriage. The thing I was most excited about was that there was a laundry room IN the house. No more shlepping to the laundromat; no more having to have a supply of quarters; no more having to sit and wait for laundry to be done - time that could be spent doing other household activities.
Since then I've come to love gardening. Plus the privacy that only comes with living in your own SFR.

I definitely prefer my house in the country. There's plenty of space to do what you want to and it's so quiet and peaceful - you don't have to worry about noisy, troublesome neighbors.

Definitely a house. I have 2 young kids and we need the group and yard! We lived in an apartment temporarily for a few months and it was horrible. Before I had kids, I still preferred a house but apartments weren't bad. You just have so much more room in a house, you don't have to worry about neighbors. It's nice to have your own yard, front/back porch, etc.

I like living in my house because of the tax advantages of home ownership but the upkeep sometimes can be a lot of work

I have lived in apartments for three years of my fifty year existence because I prefer living in houses. I had no choice growing up because my parents always owned houses. When I turned eighteen I rented a house with my sister for six months until I got a knock on my door from the bank telling me that the owners were being foreclosed upon and I was going to have to move out. I worked in a bank at the time and made a really low offer on the house which was accepted. Financing was no problem. I knew the tenants upstairs always paid their rent on time. I knew the house was in good shape and I could use the tax break that comes with paying interest.

I love a house so that I can spend time doing the out door things like gardening, mowing, etc...

I have lived in all three; they each have their advantages and disadvantages. Apartments can be noisy, but you don't have to worry about the up keep as a condo and house. Currently live in condo and we have restrictions as to what we can do outside and of course their is the maintenance fee but at least I own as oppose to an apartment which is money being paid to someone else, sometimes at a very high price and no long term investment in it. A house is very nice, but again you have the yard upkeep etc. When I was younger I liked the house, but as a retiree I prefer condo.

I DEFINITELY prefer living in a house.
My husband and I lived in an apartment for the first year of our marriage, and I didn't realize how much I hated it until we moved to a house. It's much quieter and peaceful in a house.
Right now we are renting a house. I cannot wait until we buy a house so that I can do whatever I want to it.

A HOUSE! I mean...who want's to live in an apartment? You don't have a backyard, you can't play loud music or exercise because people will complain about noise. There's always a constant threat of fire. If someone else is irresponsible and cause's a fire, it could put you at risk. You could loose your life, your home and all your belongs. Same go's for condo's. Plus apartments are creepy. I never liked them...I remember visiting my aunt's apartment and being creeped out. There was always some weird dude on the elevator.

I have a house, with a big yard, attached garage, deck, garden, and lots of trees and birds and wildlife around. I couldn't live in an apartment or condo at this stage of my life.

apartments are comfy and you dont have a large area to clean, but house is more inviting and has more room to flex, and girls seem to want a house more than a puny apartment, I say house

I, for one, would rather live in a house although as I get older, I think an apartment would be much better suited for me.

I live in a trailor but id prefer a house,,with a big yard ,garage and a basement!!!!!!11 ;D

I love having a home! It's good for the kids to be able to play in their yard. I also like the fact that I don't hv to ask permission to paint r do anything else. But the downside to owning your own home is that if it breaks you have to fix it.

I like living in a house because I could do anything you want to your house versus an apartment or condo.
