All of the surveys I take ask me if I am Spanish, Mexican, Latino, etc. until I select no and they offer different races. Why do they want to know if you are Spanish? Is there something special about it? ???

Latinos are among the fastest growing groups in the United States. Businesses are taking note and catering to Latino interest and needs. I think that all customers and potential customers are special but Latinos have a lot of political power and buying power.

There a lot of Latinos/Hispanics living in the US. They are one of the fastest growing in the country. That is probably why.

I never understood why the need to know so much information for a survey that is anonymous. I thought that surveys select random people and ask them random questions and compile the results. But it seems like the survey administrator want to know your race, income, sexual preference and whether you own or rent your house. Most surveys focus on a particular group so that they can question the people they prefer to answer their surveys , so that they can get the results they want.

Not sure why they ask that, but they do all seem to ask that question. I never actually thought about it. Now it's something to think about. I'm sure the others are correct though as to why.
