Title: do you watch cops
Post by: aggie49 on March 24, 2015, 05:33:33 pm: i do i love hearing all the idiotic excuse that people give when talking to the cops why not just tell the truth it mite help get you out of trouble

He use to be a peace officer himself and his tidbits about the procedures and protocols while we watch together actually makes things more interesting and relatable.

I'm just not sure about the bait car thing though. Seems like it makes more sense to go after people who plan to perpetrate crimes, not entice them into it. :-\

It is not going to get you out of trouble. Most of the times it is drug busts. I watch it sometimes but it is not real. It is actors reenacting. If you watch the credits it tells you that.

I did use to like that Real Stories of the Highway Patrol which was actual traffic stops. Although, I don't know how they got away with that (and may explain why it is no longer on) because IF I got pulled over by a cop (state trooper) and the video was put on TV that would be a violation of MY privacy unless they had MY permission to use the video for a television program.

But for the most part, I see enough crime violence and other types of negativity on regular tv news every day
so I'm not gonna make a point to intentionally watch it. :confused1:

I immediately change the channel. Too many people...call the police...because they haven't learned to be accountable for the part they play when interacting with others. Things are out of control so the police have to get involved. I guess I'm not very tolerant when it comes to negative behavior.

One time a guy gave him a false name and my husband said are you sure you are so and so....yep~but after he ran the name he arrested him for a warrant for that name and then the guy said, no, no, I'm not him! (cuz HE had a warrant for his own name!!) Unreal!
