Title: When was the last time you used a cab as a form of transporation?

Post by: jkhanson on May 10, 2015, 04:59:37 am: I cannot remember the last time......I haven't traveled anywhere for years that required me to take a cab. I've usually driven to the destination or rented a car, so I haven't needed a cab.

I work at walmart and can not park close to the door. I guess it was last year when I rode in a cab. Hope everyone has a good day and may God bless each of you and keep you safe.

This was mostly for sight seeing. I have never been to a busy city as well as busy streets. How do the people there do it on a daily basis.

Post by: patti4me on May 12, 2015, 11:31:10 am: Several years ago my sister and I missed our shuttle to the airport in Las Vegas from our hotel. We had to get to the airport quickly to catch our plane so we took a taxi. Other than that I don't think I've ever taken a cab.

Post by: svetka05 on May 12, 2015, 05:25:15 pm: Oh boy, the last time I used a cab was 7 years ago when I was in collage and without a vehicle of my own. It is much better to have your own vehicle but if you cant I guess we all have to do what we got to do and get around in cabs or taxi vehicles or transportation busses around the city. There are always ways to get around.

My daughter and I were in New York City at the Guggenheim Museum and after we left, we didn't feel like taking public transportation back to the train that was bringing us home to NJ, so we took a cab to the train.

Post by: dreamyxo on May 13, 2015, 09:59:04 pm: Last August. I was visiting a city I used to live and it had been nine years since I had been there. Things changed but they were the same but I got lost a lot because I couldn't remember how to get to many places. Luckily the cabs there are cheap.

I guess it was the last time we flew to Las Vegas so that would be about 10 years ago. We have driven there the last few times we went. Every place else we have gone we either drove or had friends or relatives chauffeuring us around. Bet it is expensive now!

Post by: froggylover227 on May 23, 2015, 08:01:52 pm: Probably about 4 years ago when I first went to Las Vegas. My feet were killing me from walking so much that I took a cab back from the casino I was at back to the hotel I was staying at. It cost like $30 for 2 miles!

Post by: davidh121 on May 24, 2015, 08:53:14 am: Half the trips I have for business is involving a cab and they're always involved with a trip to and/or from the airport. They're a bit pricey, but I don't think I have my faith in Uber or similar companies just yet to switch to such alternatives.

Post by: debidoo on May 24, 2015, 10:01:51 am: A little over a year ago. At the time a new cab company had started up in our town the other two had stinky filthy cars. I tried the new one my son and I because we didn't have a car at the time. The cab was brand new and so nice but the driver talked and acted and drove like he was drunk. When we got to the bank I called the cab company and told the owner he had to send someone else that the guy had driven insanely and I thought he was intoxicated. The owner came himself and shortly after I was able thank the Lord to buy a vehicle.

They drive reckless like the cops in my area, no turning lights, cut every light, tailgate, and cutting cars u name it even when there is no situation that calls for it

Some young, dumb drunk decided to take an illegal U turn on 192 slammin into my truck, totaling it out, of course she really didn't have insurance, and after the cops came, I took a cab home, didn't go to hosiptal because I was really concerned about my truck at the time, and had the dogs at home waiting for me
I now have permanent injury from the event..but at least Mears cab co was there to help me out.
We use Mears at Disney, they are a participate company, most of them real nice drivers. Oh yes, still paying on my truck, but I don't have it anymore.. >:(

Post by: lostmaeblleshire on May 26, 2015, 09:24:53 pm: I took a couple of cabs last summer before I figured out the bus system, which I did a few months before I was finally able to get a car. I do NOT miss public transportation, particularly the cab, which was always so expensive.
