i'm always distracted!
what advice can you give me to stay focus?? doesn't matter which it is. whether it be work, chores, etc.

The Bach Flower remedy White Chestnut helps quiet the mind. Some of the other Bach Flower remedies or other herbal medicine could help. Talk to your natural grocer or herb store for more detailed advice.
Cut out foods with artificial additives, white sugar and caffeine. Eat a natural diet like what Dr Daniel Amen or Dr Mark Hyman recommend for better brain/mind health.

Wow don't know what to suggest because I have a lot of trouble staying focused and on task myself. Now something I've tried that has worked but I fail to do it every day is make a "to-do" list. When I do that and mark off things as I accomplish them and then consistently update it every day (which I don't) it does help me.

I would focus on the "destination" and not so much the journey. At least that works for me in the pursuit of my terminal degree. Every time I feel discouraged and think about how many years I have left before I capture it, I keep envisioning what my graduation day would be like. That keeps me going.

If you want to become significantly better at anything, you have to fall in love with the process of doing it. You have to fall in love with building the identity of someone who does the work, rather than merely dreaming about the results that you want.

Both of my kids are grown adults and very intelligent college grads, but they had that problem. Apparently it is from me, even though I never sought help for it. They went to the DR and were diagnosed with ADD and were put on medication for it. Now they have no problems.

A daily checklist helps me stay focused & be more productive. There's been times I got busy and neglected to do a checklist, then when I go back to making one I'm always amazed at how much time it saves me.

I agree, make a checklist to stay focused.

:) What helps me is a good book or a very quiet time where I can mentally sort things out. Always remember, The Sun Will Rise Tomorrow Morning and You Get To Start Over. :)

I would start with the completed project in mind and fortify that thought with the steps that will take you to the half way point (perhaps plan a reward for getting to this point) and the final completion of the project. Extra thought should include examining the feeling of relief that you will have after completing the project. Give some thought as to all the other things that you can now attack because you know longer will have this project looming over your head. Just digging in, starting the project, taking baby steps towards completion is half the battle. Once you are there the menace of the oncoming train has been diminished. If your focus is really out of touch you may want to talk to your physician and see if there is something that you can do to get better focus.
