Title: Pay Pal
Post by: ktheodos on May 06, 2016, 09:13:16 pm
How many people use it in general? Do people see any downsides to it? Are there any comparable websites that are better?

I always use my PayPal debit card to earn my 1.5% cash back and I love it! It's connected to my checking account so if my funds are low or zero in my paypal then it comes right out of my checking.. I can make anywhere between $20 to $50 per month. It's a win win situation! :)

I have been using Paypal for many years. I originally signed up for it to be able to use it on eBay, but have since started using it to pay and receive money for other sorts of transactions. I really like it. It can be hacked, of course, but their Support people do a good job of preventing that. There are other services, including Google Wallet, WePay, 2CheckOut and Skrill but none of these are as widely uses and accepted as Paypal is.

I have had paypal for many years and have never had any trouble with it and have always been satisfied with it.  It has been very helpful in that I earn money from a couple of sites that only pay via paypal.

I find PayPal better than a credit or debit card would be. PayPal protects personal information (like passwords) better. However, sometimes anyone will do a ruse and try to phish anyone's PayPal account.

I use it have to look into the debit card part didn't even know they had that. It is great for surveysite money instead of amazon gift cards.Noticed lately that amazon prices are high on some things will go more with paypal.

I enjoy using pay pal, i have not used it in a long time to buy anything. But  I am thinking about  going on ETSY soon and will be using it there.also have a few things to sell on e-bay soon. But right now i am just having my fusion cash payments going in.  Not sure what i am saving for, but at least the money will be there when i want it.

I only use it to get paid for online sites I do.  Then I transfer the money to my checking account.  I like it.  Never had any issues with it.

I use Paypal to do online shopping.  I recently started using Paypal to have my renter send me monthly rental payments. So far so good.

Do you really get 1.5% back?  I think I only get 1% back using my PayPal debit card, so I am jealous!

To the OP, I use PayPal often and much more since I got the debit card.  That is the perfect way to keep  track of any FC earnings or other sites/apps that pay with PayPal.  It rarely goes over into my connected bank account.  I am often able to use PayPal as my "fun money" separate and apart from the regular bills.  But when things get tight or that unexpected expense pops up, it can be a bit of an emergency fund or buffer.

I have tried other websites and I found paypal to be the best. I have never had a problem. I like that when I am shopping online I can checkout using paypal instead of giving my payment info to other websites. It is also easy for me to transfer funds I receive in paypal to my checking account. :rainbow: :rose: :peace:

I have been using PayPal for quite some time.  There are other online payment processors but I am not familiar with any of them since I use only PayPal.

My account is set up to transfer my online earnings to my bank.  That's all I use it for.  I have found it to be reliable and would recommend it.

The only issue I experienced had nothing at all to do with PayPal.  A long time ago I got a bogus, phishing email from someone trying to hack my account. They used PayPal's logo and appeared to be them.  When I logged on to my actual account I saw nothing wrong so I notified PayPal.  They sent me a link and asked me to forward the email to that link, so I did that.

The real PayPal notified me saying that it was indeed a phishing scam and they handled the problem.

Big brother was watching out for me.   8)

Been using it for well over 15 years and never had an issue.  The one time I needed to dispute a fee, I got refunded after a few days.

I have used PayPal since they started and have the free debit card. I can't imagine a better solution for those who earn online.

Pay Pal is awesome.

Survey funds go into my account, which I use to purchase things I need online.

Had it for years, and really happy with it.

I just use it for transfers from survey sites. Sometimes if I have extra money in the bank, I'll send some "emergency money" to paypal and use it as a small savings account for a later date.

I have had paypal for many years and use it for most online purchases.  I have had no problems with it.  Everything can be hacked and this includes government accounts.

I use it to get my earnings from several sites and spend the money either online or with the debit card in stores. I usually have more money on my Paypal debit card than I do with my bank card

Love PayPal ..... :)

How many people use it in general? Do people see any downsides to it? Are there any comparable websites that are better?

I use it for payouts from sites like this.  I don't know of any downsides personal, but that isn't to say that there aren't any.  I personally wouldn't trust any other site like paypal as much as I trust paypal.

Millions.
I am sure there are people who see a downside.  People who refuse to get a checking account for one.
I am sure there are comparable sites.  Some will like them better others will like PayPal better.

I really like it. I think it's more secure than putting your credit card or atm card alway to buy something.

Paypal is making it difficult for home based business owners to use it.  They are changing their policy on what they will and want do.  I wonder if they are aware they aren't the only processors available to people to use.  Their loss.

I use it to receive my ptc, survey money and then transfer it to my Ally account. I need to figure out how to obtain a paypal debit card so that I can use it sooner than the 3 days it takes to transfer funds into checking

I too have used PayPal for many, many years. What I like most is that they have decent customer service that you can actually call and get help when you need it.

Have been using paypal for years.  Like some others I started using it when I began doing ebay.   But through the years I've used it for lots of various things from paying for an airline ticket and other purchases.   Now I'm saving the money in my paypal account and my amazon gift cards for Christmas presents.  I kind of consider it a Christmas club.  Easy to keep track of spending for the holidays

I use Paypal daily in my ebay business.  When people buy from my ebay store, they pay via Paypal.

I used to use it a ton back when I used eBay a lot. Since EBay has stopped being as inexpensive and easy to navigate, I rarely use it anymore. Though for survey sites etc. it's very convenient.

i've been watching eBay and it seems like a lot of things aren't selling very well since the crash. I've been waiting to sell some of my things because they used to bring decent $$, but those sales are completely flat now. Of course, that's just our luck which, if we didn't have bad luck, we'd have no luck at all. If there were only 2 people playing the lottery and 1 was hubby, he'd lose.       :)
