Title: Fireworks, what are some of your present, past, or fireworks you remember?
Post by: Dvessella1983 on June 03, 2016, 01:05:19 pm: We all let off fireworks on special occasions and alot of us did it when we were kids. What I want to know is what are some of the fireworks you like, dislike, or just remember blowing up as a kid.

I'm sure I couldn't remember them all! Independence Day used to be a VERY BIG DEAL in Brooklyn, NY. My entire neighborhood was alive! Everyone came outside, and there were TONS of fireworks - M80's, Blockbusters, MATS of firecrackers were lit in a PILE, sparklers, chasers, bottle rockets. The locals came with VANS full of fireworks and it was AWESOME. Let me tell you, the street sweepers were cleaning for DAYS afterwards, LOL! It was very similar to a ticker tape parade in Manhattan. I'm just so glad I grew up where I did and enjoyed things most people won't ever get to see/hear.

Post by: jkhanson on June 03, 2016, 04:04:50 pm: We didn't get any big fireworks when we grew up. I remember Sparklers though. We ran around the yard drawing our names and just enjoying the blazing light on a stick.

We went to town to watch the Fireworks show over the lake during the town's annual water carnival. Fireworks over the water are beautiful.

Post by: quietpal on June 04, 2016, 04:26:11 pm: I remember plugging my ears when I was little when my mom would take us to watch fireworks. I like the colorful display but other than that, I don't really care for them. Haven't been to see any in a few years.
