Title: If you could be an Olympic athlete, in what sport would you compete?
Post by: patriciaeclevenger on July 25, 2016, 10:10:51 am: If you could be an Olympic athlete, in what sport would you compete? You could think about this based on your strengths or just what you dream about.

I love Rhythmic Gymnastics so that would be the sport I would compete in, in my dreams of course ;).

I use to play it often with my sister when we were on vacation when I was a young girl, but then when I reached adulthood, I used to go to the sports complex weekly with one of my colleagues. To this day, I enjoy a smash around with the shuttlecock and I particularly enjoy beating my husband into the ground.

Post by: sak4kat on July 26, 2016, 07:04:27 am: Gymnastics. Hands down. I was a gymnast in the 80's. Even had my hair cut like Mary Lou Retton. I grew up and coached gymnastics for several years off and on for YMCA's, park districts and private clubs. On of my regrets in not starting a job I was hired on for in a gym whose owner was a USAG mens olympic judge. Oh the potential that position held.

Love your answer! LOL!! At my age I can hardly think about being in the Olympics, but when I dream I think I could see myself in either the gymnastics, the figure skating, the swimming, or the diving!

I've even competed in the Junior Olympics when I was a young teen. My events would probably be middle-distance to distance freestyle (eg 400m, 800m, and 1500m freestyle).

When I was little I would picture myself doing those stunts. I am still amazed at how good those guys and girls are.
