Title: Be on guard

I just read this; Guard your heart above all else for it is the source of life(Prov. 4:23). What do you think that means?

I think the heart is what you use to trust (I.E put your faith in something), so be careful what you give your heart to. If you give your heart over to wickedness, it'll ruin your life.

I agree with Jedi, this heart doesn't trust ANYTHING !!

What a tragedy it is when a true worshiper who appears to be firmly rooted in the Christian way of life succumbs to a test of faith. The Bible rightly says that “the inclination of the heart of man is bad from his youth up.” (Genesis 8:21) This means that without constant vigilance, even the best of hearts can be enticed to do what is bad. Since no imperfect human heart is immune to corruption, we need to take seriously the advice: “More than all else that is to be guarded, safeguard your heart.” (Proverbs 4:23)

I think it means that you should obay the Loead aand his prophet on the earth today aand eeewwe will get to hear fron him this weakend at LDS.ORG

I simply take it to mean that you should take care of your heart.  Any doctor will tell you that!  It IS the source of life!!!

I also think it means to do your best to use good judgement.  We all know how devastating it can be to be heart broken.

I think it has several different meanings on different levels. First, it's that the heart is the engine of life - it is literally the organ which keeps you alive and breathing. One it fails, you are a goner. And on another level the heart is considered the seat of loving a person and it could mean that loving another person is the essence of what it means to live.

I believe it means be careful what you put your faith in, like false idols and such.
