Does anybody else think it is time for Progressive to dump "Flo" and get a new spokes person? She is old and fat. And I am just tired of seeing her face.
-
Countrygirl I AGREE 100% with you. I never really liked her, but now I'm sick of seeing her. It's time to move on and get a new spokesperson.
-
I don't think she's old and fat :-\ I can see switching things up since she's been with Progressive for a while. I just don't pay any attention to her anymore.
-
No I like Flo she makes progressive who they are
-
She's not old and fat. She doesn't bother me I don't pay much attention when she's on anyway.
-
Well i must admit, I do not know this progressive flo person........
-
I don't think she's old and fat, but she is extremely annoying, and that doesn't make me very eager to switch to Progressive. So yes, it would probably be a good idea to dump her.
-
I don't think she is old or fat but the ads are boring and they need to update them
-
I think that is a good idea. Audition someone else to be the next voice or face for their ad. By the way I could never fully understand the message being conveyed.
-
I don't think they should get rid of her. As soon as you say flo everyone knows that you are talking about progressive. I don't think age or looks matter.
-
Progressive wouldn't be progressive without Flo
-
I don't agree. Firstly I don't think she is old and fat, and even if she were I don't make a judgement on what people look like. Secondly, I have watched all of her commercials and she is actually very funny. There is one commercial where she plays the part of several members of the family around the family dinner table and what she mutters under her breath is hilarious! But you have to listen carefully. She uses her expressive face fabulously which enables us to read between the lines, so if anyone should be fired from the commercials it is the Progressive cardboard box which is not even a real actor!

Maybe it was just the one ad. I don't know. It is the one I keep seeing when I do the daily email. It is so irritating I want to punch my computer. She looks like she has gained about 50 pounds and like she should have died 3 years ago. lol

I think I saw that ad. It irritates me. There are a couple where she is at the diner table. And looks do matter. You can't have a junk heap bum representing your business and expect people to pay attention to you. But if you have a professional clean cut person representing you then people will pay more attention. So looks do matter. I just think it is time to update their ads. But not with that stupid man dressed like a baby. Those are even worse. And the whole "dump your parent's insurance company" is foolish. You will get a better deal if you stay with a company you are already established with or have family established with. Besides that Progressive is one of them skip by on the skin of your teeth deals. It is not a good idea to have the bare min. for insurance.
-
Contrary to what you all may think, just that fact that you are talking about her makes her still relevant. You are paying attention or you would not be complaining. How would you like to go to work and hear people think you are a little heavy or little a little old, so they need to get rid of you. No wonder actresses are always talking about past 35-40 and they cannot get work. Tacky.
-
I don't think anyone should be removed because they are old & fat.... look at Colonel Sanders, he was still likable.
But I do agree that she has become boring & outdated. The Flo concept is no longer is unique or funny. IMHO

The daily e-mail ad, yeah I can see how that can get annoying. But if she wasn't working out I'm sure they would've brought someone else in by now. They had an article out about the actress who plays her and she's quite charming.
-
I am all for keeping Flo because I now identify Progressive with her and I like her
-
Keep her. She is funny!
-
I am not on board with terminating someone because they are old and fat. I think that she is still bringing in increased revenue. I believe that any company that is seeing increased revenue margins is smart to stick with what is working. It appears that Progressive is testing different markets with other commercial venues in anticipation of a less popular/ profitable Flo so I would imagine that her margins are decreasing. I have the majority of my insurance through Farmer's insurance but was steered to Progressive from four different sources for the unique car that I drive daily: a 1965 jeep CJ. Progressive offers unigue and inexpensive programs. My insurance is only ten dollars per month for comprehensive and collision. If my jeep gets totaled I get paid four times what I paid for it.
-
I don't mind Flo at all but I can see updating her character.
-
As long as people are discussing her and the commercials Progressive is happy
-
I don't care really. But she do have a lot of commercials and they do need new one. :)
-
She has to eat so let her be. She isn't hurting anyone. What she's doing is working for Progressive that's why they keep her.
-

lol. She is not an actor. She is in a commercial. And if you are in the public eye people are going to talk about you.
-
WHen you think of progressive you think of flo so the ads no matter how old they are still work
-
As long as people are discussing her and the commercials Progressive is happy
Not if they are discussing it in a negative way. And just because they talk about her or the company does not mean they are buying the insurance.
-
Wow, that was kind of rude. #KEEPFLO!
-
Ohno, I like the Flo commercials, they don't bother me. Aren't you happy she got a job.
-
By the way: Don't you know some people look better in their 60's and 70's than when they were younger? And yes... some old people look better than young people!
-
I got nothing against Flo. Doesn't bother me one way or another. Would be interesting if she jumped ship for a rival competitor like the "Can You Hear Me Now" guy.
-
I don't find Flo either old or fat and her antics are often quite humorous. I think Progressive should keep her in their ads for a while.
-
She's not as young as she used to be that's for sure. But she is their "brand". People see her, they think of Progressive.
-
The ads are not as funny as they used to be. So who ever is doing the ad's now days needs to go not "Flo". I like her and I know she can be funny. Progressive,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, get your act together !!!!!!!
-
Flo is the face of progressive and like her or not when you her the name Flo you know it's Progressive and I think progressive should keep her.
-
I like her but I don't like all of their commercials. Some of them commercials are trying a little too hard.
-
shes ok still funny to me
-
Lol...the fact I know who she is shows how long and effective their campaigning has been....
-
I like Flo.
I don't like some of the newer Progressive commercials with a man acting as a "baby" --- slogan is something like, "Act your age. Dump your parents insurance. Get your own"
Flo commercials are WAY better, in my opinion.
-
I like Flo. She's an icon in the advertising industry.
-
LOL - I have to agree - gets pretty tiring seeing the same old, same old!!!
-
Flo may have put on a little weight, but that is no reason to be rude. I do agree that the Ad has run its course and definitely need to be changed.
-
I'm used to seeing her and they always come up with new ads. You know what insurance company it is that's for sure.
-
I actually like Flo, it may be time for Progressive to make some changes, but I think she is their spokes person. I would hate for them to get rid of her.
-
I like Flo. Even her facial expressions are hilarious. She's in her mid 40's which is not old. She's definitely not fat. Whoever said she's not an actor is incorrect. She has appeared on a few tv shows and movies, which makes her an actor.
-
I answer as meany as I can so I can learn more so when someone ask a question it make sens to them .Because I don't spell very well.

The ad I saw she had gained a ton of weight and looked like she was either about 90 years old or a meth abuser. lol I just get sick of seeing her. In particular I get sick of that being the only ad I am ever shown.
-
I am sure if Progressive sales are doing well from her being a spokes person get used to her.Its always based on what have you done for me lately and we can ALL be replaced.
-

So people who are "old" and "fat" shouldn't be on TV? Really? ::)
-
I like Flo and want to see her stay on.
-
awesome to see she irritates others besides me! lol
I had Progressive, she irritated me so much several years ago that I dumped Progressive (I told them why), and switched to Geico .....and never looked back. :)

I understand. There are people I prefer to watch on tv over others. For the lady that plays Flo, she doesn't affect my life personally so I have nothing against her to make me dislike her that much. She's a character on tv, just like actors/ actresses portray characters. She's a wife and a mom in real life, so maybe this character is not who she really is. The fact is Progressive likes her and she's getting paid. Wish I could get paid like that.

Well, technically, she is an actor. Check out the definition of actor. :glasses-nerdy: She is playing a part.
ac·tor: A person whose profession is acting on the stage, in movies, or on television. A person who behaves in a way that is not genuine. A participant in an action or process.

Not just 'technically.' She IS an actor, in both movies and television.

I actually like Flo - I get a kick out of the commercials. Don't think she is old or fat.
-
I don't have a problem with Flo. I don't think she is fat or old. I don't think the commercials would be the same without Flo as the spokesperson.
