Title: fancy watches
Post by: Gerianne on June 17, 2017, 06:47:59 am
someone received a watch for Fathers Day.
in order to set it, you need to go to an app.
it gives you health information and monitors a couple health factors: blood pressure/ oxygen.
nowadays you get a gift and you need to buy something else to operate it.
money making machine.

Sounds like a nice watch. But I agree, you shouldn't have to buy an additional program to work a gift.

I use to dig watches, but not anymore. My daughter makes me things, including a knit hat and a personalized card. These items me feel more warm.

If it's for an older person, they don't want something that difficult to have on them, technology is getting advanced, if you're not tech savvy, you're lost.

I rarely wear a watch. I rely on my cell phone or my husband's watch.  I have a friend who collects watches, some that cost $2000.  There are more expensive ones, I know.

I am a baby boomer (born in 1963) and used to collect watches and pens. I still have all of these expensive toys but never use them I have a gold watch, that my wife bought me twenty one years ago, and I wear it to my day job and dressy occasions. I also have a G-Shock watch that is solar powered and changes time according to what zone I am in and in accordance with Daylight Savings changes. I wear the G-shock whenever I am not at my day job. I rarely look at my watches...kind of grown into the Gen X/millennial process of just looking at my computer screen or checking my phone. When my father passes (hopefully a long time from now) I will get his Rolexes. There is one that I really like and will probably share watch wearing with my wife's present.

Sounds like a fitbit. My mom has one of those and loves it. But they're not for everyone. If I want to know the time I just check my phone.

the only watch I wear is a smart watch. nothing fancy really. I use it to check the time and answer text messages at work.
