Title: more hours
Post by: Azanne07 on December 17, 2017, 02:54:15 pm
Ugh I need more hours in a day 24 hours just isn't cutting it.

seems like every time I have a weekend off work that time just speeds up and I get nothing I set out to do fully accomplished.

that or I guess I need to find a way to hire a maid and get back some of those hours

I can certainly relate.  After a full and busy workweek all I want to do is veg out.  At 61, I think I have earned that right.

I've been retired for 5 years and still wonder where the time goes.  I know I move slower and think slower but there is just not enough hours in a day for me to get as much done as I'd like to.

I don't care for weekends since I'm not working. There's never anything good on TV. I used to look forward to weekends when I worked. i got to relax and enjoy doing stuff. Now I'm bored because every day is the same. I sometimes lose track of what day it is at times.

There are never enough hours in a day. Especially  this time of year  no matter how organized you seem to be there are always last minute things that come up.  I know the important things will get done but exta hours in the day would definitely help! :rainbow: :peace: :santa:

Yes I need more hours too! I was just telling my husband this the other day. There just never seems to be enough time.

Do not carry the entire world on your shoulders!
There are not enough hours to do everything.
Try to have a clean house and workstation.
For example: Eat out more often.
It is like saving money: There so many ways!

I make a list of things I have to do.  Each day has its assignments.  If, at the end of the day, I get done a little early, I like to sit down with a glass of wine and reflect.  Frankly, I can't remember the last time I had wine and reflection, but its kind of a motivational factor.

I have a dream where I employ a housekeeper, and every time I look at the house, it's spotlessly clean. I keep telling my husband that if we win the lottery, I will be getting a new house, a live-in housekeeper to look after it, and a new MINI Cooper, hunter green and white! I know I'd be able to afford something more expensive if we win the lottery, but a MINI Cooper is what I want, LOL! :)

I do feel that some days, especially the days off, when you need a few extra hours and you don't have them. Some days I would love to get by a few hours fast!  :)

There will never be enough time to do everything that needs to be done, so make sure what matters most---is what gets done.  Plan for some "you-time".  Then accept that once you've done your best, it's ok to forget the rest until tomorrow.

Totally can relate.  Especially during the holidays when there is so much to do and not enough time to do it.

I would love to be able to sit at home every day. Don't think I would ever get bored. I can find stuff to do. haha

Not sure how eating out more often is going to save you money. Have you been to a restaurant lately? IT is expensive! Even if you go to a fast food place.

I have noticed that most people who complain they don't have time to get any thing done waste a lot of time.

I had to burn nine days worth of vacation hours, or lose them, so I am in the middle of vacation from my day time job. I am replacing this free time with hours from my night time/evening job. Unfortunately we received a memo/e-mail from our Accounting/Legal department that, due to interpretation of new tax bill repercussions, non-salaried employees will need to limit their hours to eight hours per day and no overtime is approved. I am at hour seven right now, today,  and making a really good hourly pay for my second job-contract work (I have had this job for six years). If this sticks I will be out twenty five thousand dollars next year. The company is also concerned about work in January and February due to the new corporate deduction limits so the work flow is forecast to be really low. I  have begun to search for a third job.

I definitely feel like there isn't enough hours in a day when I am working and school is going on. I'm on Winter break now and have so much time I don't know what to do with it but no complaints.

Yeah especially around the holidays it seems the days get about half as long and I'm expected to do 10x as much in them! Actually makes me look forward to January.

weekends just seem to go by so fast, rather than more hours I need weekends to have an extra day!

I agree, I say I wish there was more hours in the day too. I was just looking at pictures of my son from three years ago and I can not believe how much he has grown right before my eyes.

There is the theory out there that time, in fact, is actually speeding up. Certainly does seem like it sometimes!

It might not be that helpful, but I would suggest on the days that you work spending about an hour on what you would be doing on the weekend. That way the weekends are more freed up for fun and relaxation.

I’m sorry, but you can’t control the speed of the Earth’s rotation. If it took longer than 24 hours for the Earth to rotate, that would mean that we would need more time zones, and time zones would be much smaller and therefore probably more confusing.

Too bad! Anybody who keeps making that excuse is just stressed and not so structured!

I get done what I can and handle the rest whenever because I'm not going to run myself down trying to keep up with chores.   I realize you never catch up because there's always something to do.

It's all about priorities.  I have zero doubt that there are places where you are wasting time.  Just like all of us, I'm not singling you out.

I 100% agree with you there it just seems so short, I can hardly finish anything even with a precises Time made up.
