It almost killed me today,it was light and fluffy, easy to move, but once my gloves got wet then my hands started to freeze, threw down my shovel and hastened to get inside ,with my gloves off and hands freezing wet and numb they almost froze to the doorknob.Called it a day after that.
-
It is definitely cold. Now we are dealing with the winds. They are brutal.
-
I don't mind the cold in and of itself so much because I have long underwear and a coat built for climbing Mount Everest. But the wind is a real bummer - you have to cover your entire face with a scarf too to deal with that.
-
Hang in there- we only have a couple of months before Spring (my favorite season) :clover: Be safe everyone!! :snowman:
-
I agree. It's the wind factor that's more of a hindrance.
-
Yup .. Had the snow and wind yesterday as well. Still got the cold and the wind but at least no more snow.
-
That's the theme these days it seems! More time indoors and on fusion cash...lol
-
yeah I agree. Its too cold and I don't like the snow
-
I know there is no comparison but even in central florida it is cold by our standards. Online said it was 29 this morning and that is too darn cold for me. Well you guys stay inside and warm if you can. 8)
-
Yes, my hands became way too cold walking from the car to the door of a nursing home where I was visiting a former neighbor.
It hurt so much, I could barely get my gloves off.
Stay warm folks! Don't assume you are strong enough to withstand frostbite temps It is wicked cold out there. We are all vulnerable.
:rose:
-
I stayed inside and looked out the window at my hubby shoveling snow and a neighbor stuck sideways in the street. Praying this cold ends soon because I'm a warm weather person.
-
I live in Georgia, so we don't really have a ton of snow where you have to shovel it much. If we have snow at all, it generally dissipates within a day or two. It might be different in the Georgia mountains, I don't know.
When I was a kid in Illinois, though, we'd have to be at the school early but wait outside the school for some reason. By the time we got in, the teachers would stay busy running hot water over our hands because they were were so cold! :snowman:
-
Where is everybody? I am in WI so we are cold but I know other places are colder. I don't have a warm coat that zips, right now, either, so I don't go out unless I have to. We are supposed to be warming up a bit Sunday. Yay for 20 degrees!!
-
Wow, I hope you warmed up before it could do any real damage! It was in the single digits here but luckily has gotten into the 30s this afternoon.
-
I love to sit by the fireplace with a hot cup of cocoa. :)
-
I drink several big cups of hot tea to warm me bones
-
We got hit hard here in the northeast. We had 9 inches of snow but the wind added a few more inches. I am so ready for spring. :)
-
We got about two inches of snow yesterday.
-
Yeah it's cold down here too.
-
Had snow here Christmas Eve and it now turned to ice because of the cold. Has not snowed here since then but really cold.
-
I hate winter. Period. Snow, ice, cold, all of it. And I'm a born and bred Minnesotan.
-
At least 1 foot in my area not including snow drifts,Only got a 6 foot long and 5 foot wide area from my front door-my deck done before I started getting frostbite in my hand because they got wet,I'll wait til Monday to try again. Good thing I stocked up on food and milk Tues and Wed. and have power. Next week should see all this gone and some high 40's
-
We are in for 3 or 4 days of wind chills below zero. You just want to stay in your house.
-
sorry to hear that - so nice and sunny where I hang these days... hear its going to go back to 30 and 40 next week... hang in there! :peace:
-
No snow here in north Texas, just bone-chilling cold temps since New Year's Eve. Wind chill plunged us into single-digit temps and we're not used to that! Austin actually got snow flurries! However, these temp drops occurred over several nights and now we're above freezing for our lows.
-
I had a coat from Lands End that covered my face.
It was my favorite. I kept a photo of it.
I think they still sell it.
I gave that coat away. I kept another winter coat.
I also had insulated gloves.....still have them for when I return north.
I plan a move to Tennessee to be close to my sisters and brother again.
I have been down in FL. with my parents for 20 years.
-
The cold has been a bit much for this year. Didn't get snow where I live but the temperatures have been lower this year then in the past few years for much longer days!
-
No snow here in Western NC (it all went East) but it has been insanely cold for over a week now. We should start warming Tuesday. The weatherman said the average temp we have had the last several days is the normal for MONTANA. My brother in Denver CO has been having 50's, I keep telling him I want to send him his weather back.
-
Not here in SW FL ;D
-
The chill here is bitter - and there is no escaping it where I work. The front doors at the entrance continually freeze (OPEN) and the other set is constantly opening and closing so the entire store has a chill that is so intense my hands are stiff and piping anything is impossible unless I first microwave the pastry bag.
-
We havne't had snow that actually stuck to the ground in 30 years, until now. It snowed four days ago, and there is still five inches on the ground! This is insane and something I didn't think I would ever see in my lifetime. At least here.
-
Tell me about it! I could not stand to be outside shoveling for more than 30 mins. It was horrible and today it's -6 degrees in NJ. I can't wait for my cruise in March! :D
-
It's been rough. We've been near/below zero for the past week here in Ohio
-
I live in Ohio,,,, used to this crazy weather but I would love to have it between 70 and 75 year round :) today it has been the warmest in two weeks. high was 27 degrees :) LOL I like snow its really pretty but I don't want it to stay. The cold makes my bones hurt :( I'm ready for spring and summer
-
My neighbors have been calling me about their water freezing,my dad's nursing home has pipes bursting,I have not even gotten out of bed today(strained and stiff shoulder)everybody is having some issue but it should be better this week and next. Pretty bad when the high 20's and 30's are heatwave conditions.
-
We have not had any real snow here where I live this year but it sure has been cold! They say it is supposed to warm up in the next few days and I can't wait.
-
It's maybe 18 degrees here right now in NC. Only saw one snowfall so far and it only lasted maybe 10 minutes and was a flurry. Nothing major, which I'm glad of.
-
I can't believe it but I'm excited to have the temp in the 30s this week. And regular rain not snow!
-
It really is freezing outside! Ready for this winter thing to be over!
-
And it's getting worse every year. Mother Nature is definitely >:( at us.
-
Right now we are having a warm day, suppose to be 70 Tuesday. It is almost like spring. But it will change soon and be so cold. Nothing like the 4 seasons but to have them all in one month is weird. We should already have snow on the mountains and we have nothing. I am not knocking it. But we need the moisture so bad. We just pray someone does not start a fire. We had great rains all summer and the grass and of course dry weeds some up to our waist. If a fire got started with the winds it move so fast.
-
I guess we can't live with or without winter!
-
I walked down town the other day and took a whole bunch of pictures of my river which is frozen almost all the way across. It sure was cold when I went down there that is all I can say. :snowman:
-
Use hand and boot warmers. It is so cold some days,
I cannot even go out.
-
Thank the Gods it's over...for now !!!! 2 feet plus high where I shoveled, snow drifts at a foot, not fun,not fun at all !!! I should have sang a chain gang song.
-
doesn't ever snow here.... I love snow but to be honest I prefer the heat :) I'm a summer person, definitely

Yes, summer is my favorite season too.
-
I am already sick of the snow and cold. In delaware we already at record temps and snow. Its been the coldest in many years already

My car took nearly a half hour to scrape the ice off enough so that I could drive. Then the roads were icy so it took about 45 minutes to get to work (about double my normal time).
-
do not like cold,,, makes my bones hurt. Snow is pretty but i don't really want it on the ground LOL
-
we saw snow here is AZ on the 9th - not too much though and already gone and back to another sunny warmup! ;)
-
After being down to -2° last week, we are going to be at 70° today and are told to expect 3 - 13 inches of snow by tomorrow morning! Temps are going to nosedive today!
-
Right now it is very foggy. Glad my car can handle the thickest nice headlights
-
I love snow. Snow is beautiful. I just don't care to go out in the snow.
-
We had a cold spell with a lot of wind chill warning days in a row.
This week, it warmed up to above zero. Two days ago, it was warm enough that we took our outside Christmas lights down and then I made two snowmen with my 3 year old grandson.
It has turned back to frigid again.
Good news though to me at least, is that I usually see my first robin return in mid February and by mid March, winter has lost its fury.
-
The last few days was freezing here! We don't have the right to call Florida the Sunshine State anymore!
-
It was snow and very cold here as well.
-
Cold and snow in KY.

But just because it’s cold doesn’t mean it can’t be sunny.
