I always forget it's there and rarely carry change anyway. Too hard to get your fingers in there. Does anybody use them?
-
yes i do, sometimes I use it for carrying my credit card...
-
I've never used it. Too hard to get my fingers in it.
-
I used to carry a flip cellphone in the coin pocket.
-
I never really use it. But I use a mini-sized jar where I put coins in and put it in my pocket to take it with me.
-
Only if i slipped a coin in there by accident.

:pumpkin: :pumpkin: :pumpkin: :pumpkin: I do use the coin pocket on my jeans. I love that little pocket. I can put small items in that pocket. Would be cool if they put this pocket in every pair of pants too. :pumpkin: :pumpkin: :pumpkin: :pumpkin:

I use it for my Aledi quarter so it is easy to find when I get their.
-
I can remember the last time a had a pair of jeans with the coin pocket. I never new why that tiny pocket was there for a long time because it is difficult to fit your fingers in there if you do put something in there.

That small pocket is actually for a pocket watch.....
Why do jeans have that tiny pocket? There is a reason

It turns out that small pocket on the top right side your jeans was originally created, wait for it ... a watch.
"It appears on the oldest pair of waist overalls — the original name for jeans — in the Levi Strauss & Co. archives that date back to 1879," said Tracey Panek, a historian for Levi Strauss & Co.
Those original copper-riveted jeans had a tiny pocket to hold small pocket watches for working men, from carpenters and miners to railroad engineers. And the design stuck ever since!

If I wear a pair of jeans with the watch pocket, I put my car key in it and don't have to worry about getting locked out of my car. Otherwise if I have to take all of my keys on in, they get heavy, I have keys to my house, my dad's, 2 neighbors, my brothers and to the ministry . also have the barn key. my shop key and the safe key, Now that is too darn many to be hanging from the starter in the car. So I have a couple of extra keys made. the car key and the house key. The rest stay on the lanyard in my purse.

Only time i use that part of my jeans is when im going fishing easy to handle small baits and hooks
-
I forget it's even there! :) Come to think of it, I'm not sure most of my jeans even have one! It does seem like it would be difficult to reach in with two fingers to pull out the coins.
-
I use it to put peppermint in there, not any coins.
-
i do not use hte coin pocket in my jeans of those that have them

I remember when most men carried a pocket watch. It was normal when I was a child. But why would the jeans keep making a pocket for pocket watches when nobody carries them anymore? In this day and age when most companies are looking for ways to cut costs, this doesn't compute!

LOL... we just got ALDI's here & I now have an "Aldi's quarter" at the ready too.... in my car though, ready to go.

-
No, not yet anyway.

Thanks! I like fun facts. The pocket doesn't seem large enough for a pocket watch though. I just clip my work badge onto it.

I never carry change in my pants pockets. I very seldom will dig change out of my purse, either.
-
I never have used it.
-
Sometimes if i have a coins.
-
Yes. It is the perfect place for my iPhone ear phones.I will also put antacids in there if I anticipate an upcoming meal that might produce heart burn. Sometimes I will put a few aspirin in there if I anticipate a headache (usually after a night infused with cocktails). Prior to age fourteen I used to keep a pocket knife in that pocket. As I became more in to school I would keep a pen in there. I no longer keep change or currency on me but that pocket would never have been used for that-money has always been near and dear to my heart and that pocket seems as if it would be an easy way for money to drop out undetected. A lot of people that I work with never use that pocket because they only carry a phone with them and that pocket is too small to accommodate a cellular phone.
-
I don't even have coin pockets on most of my jeans. needless to say, I don't
-
I put flossers in them.
-
Not in a long while.
-
I didn't think anyone used it.
-
I use it regularly. I wear/carry a pedometer but often put it in that small pocket rather than on a belt loop to be less conspicuous about it. Then I still have my regular full size pocket available for any other items I might be carrying that day.
-
I use it for non coin items, like my eye whitener, earplugs, hairpins, toothpick and anything small that fits in :)
-
Yes, once in a while when I receive change from the cashier.
-
No, the most I will stick in there is perhaps some tissue, but lately I have stopped that because I forget the tissue is in the pocket and when I do the laundry it makes for messy lint all over everything.
-
I think back in 1920 they were used because people didn't make enough money to use the large pocket. By now it's a habit, so change.
-
Sure.
-
nope never have
-
Sometimes I will carry a couple of aspirins in it, for headaches. Easy to find in such a small space.
-
Since Jeans are work pants and I don't work any more, I don't have any.
-
these pockets are for pocket watches not wrist watches they are hooked to a chain that is attached to a belt loop which makes it easy to take out and check the time my hands and fingers are large and coins would end up in bottom of washer or dryer
-
I never knew what that pocket was called. I think I have used it once or twice ever and I regretted it afterwards. I have forgotten that pocket even exists.
-
Not me i don't like any thing in my pockets,
-
Nope, I usually forget those are even there. I don't like putting change in my pockets.
-
No I really don't use the coin pocket on my jeans because of that reason its to small to put your fingers in to even get your change out
-
I don't ever use it. I forget about it.
-
I don't wear jeans, but I do use the coin pocket in my pants for coins. It's pretty helpful.
-
I'm not even sure mine have the change pocket on them and if it did I wouldn't use it because it is so small that it is hard to get your fingers in the pocket.
-
I never use it. When I accidentally slip my hand into it, I always think that they should have used the cloth used to make it just to make the regular pocket bigger. That would certainly be a more useful thing to do.
-
I rarely use my pockets on my jeans. I I mainly carry my purse and just use that.
-
No; I put everything in my regular pockets
-
No, I don't use the coins pocket on my jeans. Too small
-
Yes, I use it to hook my thumbs in, LOL. I have a horrible habit of putting my hands in my pocket, especially when I am bored. One of the things I do is hook my thumbs.
-
Yup, stick my Zippo in there...
-
I never use it.
I would forget I have something in there, and throw it into the wash.
:rose:
-
I don't think I have ever used that pocket. It's too small for much of anything.
-
::) They used to call it a watch pocket but, I put my house key in it.
-
I don't like carrying money in my pockets. It always get washed.
-
I have never used it even if I have coins my hands are just to big to fit in them nor do I want to stress myself just to get something out of it.
