I have one, but only go on it about twice a month. I should probably go on it a lot more.

I do not own a Scale. Montel Williams (Talk Show Host) did an episode on weight and the Doctors that he had on there suggested that every one get rid of their Scales because when People are really trying to lose weight and they are constantly on the Scale. When they just know that they have lost weight and stepping on a Scale and had not lost the weight that they desired at the time will cause them to be very Depressed and just give up because they are obsessed with the Scale. They said a Scale is just a number, but that it was all about how you feel inside is what matters and the numbers will go down eventually, but to just be weighed at your Doctor or once a Month on a Display Scale in the Store. I took their advice and that is why I do not own a Scale.

My daughter has a digital scale, I gets on it sometimes.
-
I check my weight every morning. This is because if I don't, weight sometimes creeps up on me without my noticing until it is too late and really really difficult to lose it. It isn't because I'm trying to lose weight or anything.
-
I have a scale and weigh myself regularly. If I notice my weight creeping up, I take immediate measures to get improve my eating habits.
-
I have a scale but only weigh myself if I go off on a binge craving. I usually get weighed in the doctor's office every 4 months but I don't like what I see. :D

That is stupid. You need to weigh about once a week. It is easier to cut back and lose a couple pounds that 10 pounds. Most people only go to the doctor about once a year. You need to weigh more than once a year.
Honestly if you have that big of a fear of getting on the bathroom scales and seeing how much you weigh then you either REALLY need to lose weight and you know it or have bigger issues than weight.
The numbers on the scales will not go down unless you get up and move and eat correctly.
There is no need in getting depressed. People need to quit listening to the people who say they lost 40 pounds in a week. Go to realistic sources. You will loose 1-2 pounds a week IF you really work at it. You CANNOT eat whatever you want to and lose weight. And you DO have to cut back on what you eat. And you have to quit slurping the sodas all day long. Most people consume around 1000 calories a day just in crap the drink.

You weight can fluctuate every day so weighing every day can drive you crazy. Most real experts, not self proclaimed experts on tv, say to weigh once a week.
-
Yes,i do.I check my weight once a week but i learned that numbers don't define me.
-
Yes I own a scale but I probably only weigh myself about twice a week.
-
I own a scale and weigh myself fairly often how your clothes fit is a better way of checking your weight
-
I do not own a scale. Maybe I should buy one.
-
I don't own a scale anymore. I used to have one, but apparently it was lost during a move several years back. I weigh myself once a week using the Wii - not sure how accurate the numbers are. It's actually better to measure, because if you're exercising regularly, you could be gaining muscle (increased pounds) but losing fat (smaller measurements).
-
have but never use really
-
Yes, I weigh myself every day, although I would know I've gained weight even without the scale. I can't fit into many of my clothes anymore.
-
Yes, I have one but never get on it. I am scared I might break it. ;-)
-
Yes I own a scale. I just upgraded by scale from a mechanical one, to a digital one with bodyfat measuring sensors... they had a great deal on them at ALDIs a couple months back -- ALDIs is a great store if anyone isn't using that resources its time to go & check out their weekly home goods... good stuff, really cheap.
-
yes i just paid 150 dollars for one from amazon...its a physician type digital scale...accurate to my drs..
-
Yes, but I only use it when I absolutely must know my weight for whatever reason.
-
The real problem with scales is "they all give you different readings, different results".
-
We have a scale in our bathroom. We always check our weight. Sometimes just a habit of checking everytime and be aware whats our weight.
-
No I don't have one. Loved ones here, always had one but I know what it feels like to have little body weight and be active.
-
I do own a scale.. I typically try to weigh myself every couple of weeks or so... Sometimes i like to do it less often but i do like to see how much i weight from time to time randomly just out of the things i do or the places i go or the things i eat of course i don't weigh myself like 3 to 5 times a day because your weight will always fluncuate throughout the day.. so no bother on that part
-
Yes. I use it a few times a week. Trying to be more active and loose my baby weight.
-
I own a bathroom scale but dont check that often
-
Yes I have one and I use it occassionally. Usually when I am trying to lose weight but I think its important to have one in the house.
-
I do have a scale. I don't remember the last time I stood on it though. It is tucked away so I forget I have it.

lol. I honestly do not understand how knowing how much you weigh is such a horrible thing. If you are over weight you have to know it. You know what size your clothes are, surely you look in a mirror. What difference does knowing the number make. It is kind of like the vanity sizing in the clothes now. Does it really matter if the jeans say a size 6 is you weigh 200 pounds???
So now they make a size 6 which use to be like a 10. And I kid you not I saw a pair of jeans that was a double zero 00 and I saw one once that was a negative something. I could only shake my head at the stupidity behind that decision. If a person is fat they know it. If they are embarrassed to wear a size 20 then do something about it. But changing the size printed in the clothes does not make the person any smaller.
But it is like somebody else said - the number on the scale - or how much you weigh does not define you. But you will be judged by what you look like. And not only being over weight. You will be judged for being slim just as much. Or if you have visible scars, or any type of deformity, or anything else.
I had a friend once that was over weight and she knew she was fat. She was afraid to get on the scales too. When she finally did she say 201 and she about died. She is only about 5'2" so weighing over 200 pounds was a big deal. She worked hard and ate right and lost around 97 pounds. No surgery. Just eating healthy and walking.

Yes I have a digital scale. For me it is more important to eat foods that are healthy and not processed then jump on a scale every week. My sister gets on a scale at least every 3 days because she used to be heavy but lost all of her weight by counting calories however her diet is not healthy because she will have a slice of pie for dinner for calories and nothing else. The truth is weather you jump on a scale once a week or once a month or only once a year the sad reality is where all going to pass away some day.
-
I do, but the batteries have been dead for so long and I never get around to replacing them! My weight does not fluctuate that much anyway so I didn't check often.
-
I actually just bought one last week at target I haven’t had one for a very long time but I’ve been having so much trouble not eating right with my lupus and whatever is going on with my side that I thought I better get a scale and monitor my weight and I’m glad I did
-
I have one, but I rarely use it. Most of the time, it's just gathering dust.
-
I do have a digital one but only use it once a week. Don't want to get discouraged everyday as your weight can vary every day so try to do it at the same time every week. As my dietitian daughter would say eat sensibly and you should be fine each week.

Hello! :D :)
I have a scale I weigh myself every week to keep track of my weight. The key is not to take it too seriously and use it as a tool. :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:

I have one but I use it to weigh my cats.

When I seriously watch my weight, I get on a scale every other day. Soon as I see a fluctuation I don't like, I watch what goes into my mouth. And by the way, I do own a scale. However, when I am really motivated, I am usually at the gym three days each week and weigh myself there. I wish I could get on a fitness plan again because I need it but have been fairly unmotivated for awhile.
-
Yes, I own a scale, and I faithfully weigh myself each morning after using the bathroom.
-
I own a scale. I keep it in the bathroom and weigh myself in the mornings.
-
No - I can tell when I'm gaining weight.....it's all what you eat really
-
We have one but I don't think it works correctly. Everytime. I go to the doctor, it tells me something different.
-
I have one that's digital but needs new batteries so I haven't gotten on for a while. I weigh myself at the gym when I go there - was going about 3 times a week. Feel less stressed since I haven't been getting on my home scale. I would get upset because I wasn't losing any weight and become obsessed with what/how much I was eating. Not doing that everyday is so much better.
-
I own a scale and try to get on it once a month
-
Yes and I use it about twice a month if I remember.
-
Yes, I weigh in every 3 to 4 days.
-
It's not necessarily a bad thing to not own a scale when weighing in gets compulsive/discouraging.
-
I actually have two. One is the weight watchers digital scale that I use most often. The other is one my mother gave me that is also digital that remembers your previous weight.
-
Yes I own a scale I always measure ly weigh :D
-
Yup. I try to weigh in the morning before I've eaten and drank stuff so it's not so frightening.
I don't check every single day, but I try to catch it if I'm gaining so I can cut back.
:fish:
-
I own one, but I don't use it very often.
-
I do own a scale, but rarely use it
-
well, yes - couple of different types for different reasons, of course...
-
We own a smart scale, but it's never accurate. Aggravating.
-
Older doctors scale still works!
-
Yes.
-
Yes, I get on it just about daily. I've gained weight recently that I can't seem to lose, but oh well. I'm not gonna lose any sleep over something that's hard for me to control.
-
Yes, I do and I try not to get on it, but sometimes I just need to know!!
-
Yes, I do have a scale. I use it about twice a month.
-
Yes I have one, but when I get on it fluctuates in about a 3 or 4 pound range so I am not sure how accurate it is, but it's close enough.
-
I have to weigh myself frequently due to pulmonary hypertension. I have to call the doc if I gain 3+ lb in a day or 5 in a week because it can indicate fluid around my heart. :P
-
I do but I wish I didn't use it.... but I guess it's good I know how much I weigh even though I know I need to lose about 15 lbs.
-
We do, but I don't use; the hubby does once in awhile , as he is the one with the weight problem.
-
Yes, I own a scale but I don't use it much. I'm afraid to see what the number would be once I stepped on! :(
