Are you in your mid 50's and losing your hair? I have lost a lot of hair and my hair still sheds, although it is growing as well. I cannot apply any heat to it so I wear hats and wigs and wash, condition and moisturize it weekly.

My hair started coming out really bad and I thought it was because of a new medication I was on, turns out my iron had gotten really low. The Doc. put me on iron pills and it has helped a little. I don't wash it as often either.

Over the years my hair has thinned. But I still look fabulous. :)

My mother had thin, straight hair and my Dad had thick, curly hair. Fortunately I got my Dads hair. :) So at 57 it still looks very good.

I have thin hair and have always shed like crazy. I was on a prolonged prednisone rx for lupus, and I looked like I had gone through chemo. It grew back, but now I'm always stressed out if I lose a few more strands than usual.

I have been blessed with a fairly well covered head of hair (even at fifty five going on fifty six in a month). I have thinning spot on top of my head but never really see it and honest people have told me that it is not noticeable. I am not really a vain person (which drives my wife nuts). I generally do not shower on the weekend or if I am working at home, wear shorts and t-shirts year round and live in old tennis/running shoes. Bums generally don't hit me up for cash because I look worse off than them (I am also a bit imposing size wise). I get my hair cut whenever it starts requiring a lot of product to keep it in place. I f loss of hair were a concern of mine I would just shave it all off and resign to shaving my head every three weeks or so. Shaved heads seem to be the craze these days so I guess my kids would think I was cool.

I have lupus so I’ve been losing hair for a couple years now I have some bald spots I try to pull my hair back in a ponytail so people don’t notice how much I’ve lost it’s kind of embarrassing but part of lupus I have to learn to live with

Ugghh I am currently going through post partum hair loss. It is horrible. They say it starts about 3 months after giving birth and it definitely did! Luckily I have a lot of hair.

:clover: :peace: :clover: I tend to get new growth of hair, I try not to wash it everyday, but closer to every other day. This way it doesn't dry out as fast. If I dye my hair, the dye takes a toll on my hair a bit though. :clover: :peace: :clover:

I would think your hats and wigs would not be doing your hair any favors, but yes I seem to shed at certain times of the year more then others

I had an issue with my hair a few years ago when I had a serious health crisis. Medication also was horrible on my hair and skin. I currently do not have an issue with my hair or skin now. I put coconut oil in my hair before I shampoo and I use a sulfate free shampoo and conditioner after that. Once I get out of the shower and towel dry my hair I put real Aloe Vera in my hair from a plant. I currently have long beautiful hair today.

Yes - I'm afraid it happens with age and hormone change! Those with thick hair are happy and those of us with thin hair are not. So what are we to do??????? :-\

I heard that you can buy https://shop.myctfo.me/wellnessbiz4u/index.php/?route=product/category&path=31 shampoo that will help grow your hair!

I have started taking extra B vitamins which are suppose to help with hair loss. It just feels like after showers and when brushing a lot is coming out. So far it is nothing that is noticeable.

You should check your kidneys, this test really a hard thing to do.

I do not know what is going on: But some people, including women, are losing all their hair.
The real cause: Who knows? Genetics, climate change, chemicals on your scalp, diet and much more.
Some of them are completely bald right now...trying to find wigs that really would look good on them.

I'm not in my mid 50s and I find that my hair sheds a lot and gets thinner certain times of the year. I take biotin to help when it does.
