Boy i have a bad one , they don't do things that need doing , and she is so angry at things. And they have the heat on a very low setting , heats included in my rent and lights . Heat will not get warmer than 62 even if i have it set on 80, she claims they are not in control of it , but her husband slipped and said they are .

I have had one that was a burger. I say please fix it, he said nothing is wrong with it; after that, I saved for my own. My friend had a landlord they were good as long as you didn't have trouble paying the rent or late, understandable but wow, steps was unnecessary.

I have a great landlord. They are quick to fix anything we need fixed 24 hours a day.

my landlord passed away, so now I deal with her 2 daughters, who wont fix anything, and keep threatening to sell the house and property, but the rent is super cheap so I best not complain

I was always lucky with my landlords. But have known some people really had a hard time with theirs. Right now I have a young friend that is having to put up with a land who is always asking her to go to dinner with him or out for drinks, and he is married. Want fix her door so she can lock it good. Me I would go buy one and have a friend install it and not say a thing to the landlord until he tries to come in and the key doesn't work. Yes once you install something in a rental you have to leave it. But oh well better then not having one.

No. We don't rent. We own our house and 5 more years and done. Thank you Lord.

I used to rent years ago and I had a few landlords that I had problems with. I basically told them either fix it or I will have it fixed and I will deduct the cost from my rent. It worked most of the time. Then I bought my first house.

I don't have issues with my landlord. Pay him before rent is due, speak when I see him and that's it.

We have rented out a house for about 40 years. It is not easy finding good tenants that is all I can say. I think our current one is probably about the best we ever had.

I rent,, landlord is ok

I have checked with the state and it's a law to have it at least 68 in the house, and when i told her , she said if i don't like it to move out. I also have a two bed room house that she refused me to have a second person live here , i had a room mate planned , and half moved in and she told me i couldn't. Weird to list a 2 bedroom house for rent and them refuse the second bedroom to be used as a second person. I'd already signed a lease and moved 90% in when she dropped this on me. >:( >:( >:(

I rent now as well. And currently I have a great landlord. My last landlord was okay. And the landlord before that was nothing but a slumlord. I was incredibly leery bout this landlord because there is no lease. As it turns out she's a very trustworthy gal and has been on top of things for me. I've been here 6 months and if something breaks or is out of sorts her handyman takes care of.

First time renting in over 80 years so far mostly ok if I talk to the fix it men instead of the office girls

No, I own my own property. There is a simple fix to your problem. Go buy a heater and plug it into the wall and turn it on.
Especially if the electric is already included in your rent. lol

If you were married or the two rented it together. The first place I rented the woman was a total *bleep*. After I moved in she changes all the rules. You cannot have more than your car parked in the driveway, you cannot have any over night guests, ... Uh I am paying to live her and I can have visitors. Her husband would tell me one thing and then she would come and change it and say no you can't do that. She finally got really smart and they went on vacation and I was gone when they came back.

I have lived here for 13 years and I'm on the fourth landlord. They were all pretty nice. The first landlord used to give us all gift cards on Christmas and Thanksgiving (it's a three unit house). The landlord we have now is kinda young and unsure about what he is doing (but he's a nice kid. so far.)

That’s too bad about the heat settings. My apartment ordinarily feels hot, so I sometimes have to turn on a fan and open at least one window to air out my apartment even if it’s not so warm outside! Other than that, I don’t have problems with my landlord (and yes, I do rent my apartment).
