Some of you might remember I lost two of my cats last month, one to cancer and one to liver disease We are picking up another cat on Monday. As you may or may not remember I only adopt cats that had a rough life, has been caged very long, one that is sick or one that will not get adopted This one is 6 years old. He has been caged for 5 of his 6 years - the reason is 50% of the time he uses the litter box, 50% of the time not so much. He can join my other cat who has the same problem. All my cats have free run of the home. Beds have pads on top of comforters, living room & family room furniture has covers and I have no carpets in home. Worst i have to do is wash the pads/covers. I won't be home much today otherwise he would be here now. Can't wait until Monday!💖

Nancy you are an animals dream. The best to u and ur new pet.

Wow Nancy for sure your an animals dream!!! Not many at all would put up with a cat that did that. Thank you for adopting those that wouldnt have any other chances
-
Best to you and your new cat. Wow you only take in cats that bhave had rough lives. I have 3 of my own. They get along ok sometimes 2 of them play fight. When it gets rough I put one outside to keep the peace. That one is happy to get out.

Oh bless you Nancy for saving this poor soul from spending his whole life in a cage.

You are a special kind of person. Every cat that gets to live with you is in animal Heaven. Bless you for your kindness to cats.

Thank you everyone for your kind words. If I had more money trust me I would have more pets. It's not the cost of the pet, it's the cost of food, litter (for cats), day care (for dogs) , and vet bills. I'm sure this little boy will settle in with the rest of my 'zoo' The search continues for another family member, but I will find one!

Glad to hear and your efforts are admirable!

You have a very kind heart, Nancy.

Awe, I'm glad they have found you then!
I lost 3 animals in the span of 2 years. It was awful. However, one was a stray that we had for about 2 years. So I'm glad that those 2 years were spent with people that loved her!

Wow you have so much compassion and patience. I wish you well with you new cat. I have 2 cats myself and love them to death

Sweat, I have a :cat: too, that needed a home. You get :present: back My :cat: loves me I know it.

Leaving now to take one cat to vet (been throwing up), leaving him there, driving to pick up new addition. Going back to vet to hopefully bring my boy home, that it's not serious, and getting new member checked out Then the rest of my zoo will meet him in time.

You are amazing... God Bless you & all you do for the animals. I hope your new kitty lives long & overcomes his issues once in a stable, loving environment.
-
Congrats on your new family litter, Hope everything goes well with all of them.

You have a good heart Nancy - a better heart than me. We have two elderly cats 18+ years old and I just recently had to put down my beloved Shih Tzu and I am over the pet thing. They say you live longer if you have pets and I am alone 90 percent of the time but I just can't go the mess or the loss anymore. Well enjoy your new cat.

I love cats and congrats on the new pet addition! :cat: :cat: :cat:

I couldn't do that. No offense. I had to rehome my cat that kept peeing on everything because she didn't like my other cat. Found a nice veteran with no pets to take her, and they're both very happy.

Lol! You're the classic Cat Lady! I'm not a cat person but several years ago 2 stray cats broke into love dogs only armer & stole my frozen heart. I wish there where more ppl like you because more often ppl will only adopt new born, healthier, trained cute cats & the older, sickly, whiny, feral, untrained, unruly cats are left to live in a cage for life or put down due to lack of funding & over population world wide. Thank you nancy, keep doing what you're doing & hope you're new cat will be a great match to you're feline family!

You seem to be a great person with a good heart. <3 Thank you for taking care of the kitties!

Update on my new boy. He has been here 9 days. He has met all the other cats and my 5 dogs with no problems. He has discovered he can walk the entire house and sit/lay wherever he wants - no cage! He also discovered Windows to look out, see the birds, squirrel, leaves blowing, etc. He has fit in 100% and of course I have fallen in love with him. He has only gone out of the litter box once, so I'm very happy and surprised about that! Soon the search for another poor cat will start.

good luck to you and all your babies!

You must love cats. Well, so does my mother. She always has to have at least one!

I envy you with taking in older unwanted cats that may have sick or other problems. i would be heartbroken for sick ones besides not being able to afford vet costs. If I knew you were looking for cats, I would've sent you my ferals. :)
I'm down to 3 from 7. We had a true feral hcame who attacked my Tigger and Boots (males) and chased both of them off. Tigger never came back. I'm sure he's dead because he never "left home" for more than a half day and I think he was injured from a fight earlier with that feral. Boots came back but he's very skittish. He eats and leaves again. I have 2 kittens from last summer. Both stay right here and their mom was gone for a while but she's back with a belly. I contacted different cat shelters and stray places and had one that promised to help with spaying and neutering then all of a sudden, everything fell through after she got my address. (That was when there were 7 cats here). I can't afford to get them fixed. We have a hard time even feeding them but no one wants them. They will be euthanized if they go to a shelter, even though the kittens are loving and friendly to me.

Enjoy your new family member.
