Yesterday, we had to get on a tram to get back to our vehicle in the parking lot. The tram attendant wanted to 'help' by operating my chair. For my own safety and protection, I had to scream to get the woman to listen.I was not in danger, because my Mom helped and protected me.
The best way to truly provide help to a person is to listen to them, respect them, and honor their request.
Please keep that in mind when you want to help someone who has a disability.
