So many people that I talk to spend a large amount of their time watching YouTube videos. Most admit to watching at least thirty to forty minutes of videos before they go to sleep and than have a hard time going to sleep. Kind of makes sense, though, as you engage your mind/rev it up, that it would be harder to turn it off. I will watch a few motivational videos during the weekend and some of the Saturday Night Live videos on Sunday mornings but I rarely, if ever, spend more than fifteen minutes of my time doing this. And I never do it right before I go to sleep which is probably why I do not have a hard time falling asleep at night (plus I tend to work between sixteen and nineteen hours a day. People at my day time job are constantly sending file paths for their favorite videos.

I very rarely use YouTube. Occasionally I'll try a new yoga workout or look up an instructional video. My husband likes to watch "fail" videos, and he does it more than I would like. (Stop looking at your phone for a minute so I can talk to you!!) He does it before bed but never has trouble falling asleep.

I am a YouTube junkie and I often watch videos before falling asleep. I watch a few comedy videos (anyone from the 'Burgh area or anyone with kids would LOVE the old Pittsburgh Dad videos. His latest videos are mostly just reactions to the Pittsburgh Steelers' games); I like watching animal/pet/wildlife videos; and I also enjoy watching vlogs from people documenting their experiences at Cedar Point.
I also use YouTube a lot when I am considering buying a new product and want to see some video reviews of its features in practical use. We don't have a local TV station in town, but the local newspaper often has video interviews or news stories and they are typically easier to find and view directly on YouTube than on the newspaper's own crappy web site without a search feature. Just last night I watched part of a recent debate of all the candidates running for a few city commission seats (that is until I fell asleep and my wife came into the room to stop my snoring). It definitely made my choice much easier for when I go to vote.

Most of my Youtubesvisits just involve listening to music for hours. Only rarely to do I ever watch or listen to a video about some profound topic like feminism, men's rights, cult vs religion, etc.

You Tube is a great tool for various things. I use it as just that, a tool. I'm not hooked on it and I could go days without ever using it at all.
Then there are other times where I look at different shows ( usually the older shows ).
So as is the case with basically every aspect of my life, I use balance.

I watch YouTube videos several times a week. They are mostly make-up and unboxing videos from several that I follow. Most are less than 20 minutes each.

Yes, I have to admit that I occasionally fall down the YouTube rabbit hole. i'll start with one video, but then I'll see a recommendation for another video, and then I'm suddenly looking at 10, 12 videos at a time, LOL! I don't usually watch any videos, though, before I go to sleep, because I have a hard enough time sleeping as it is. :peace:

I love YouTube. I watch a lot of interesting and fun content. I sometimes prefer it over TV.
-
I use YouTube from both sides constantly.
I learn how to do things better as well as post videos on what I learned to help others.
I LOVE getting referrals for anything that pays me commissions and posting videos is a good tool to use.
If I can teach someone how to do something and get paid when they do it, I see that as a Win-Win situation.
-
I love youtube. I use it for music and learning how to do things. I very seldom watch full length movies anymore now that the kids are out of the house and youtube wants to charge for these things now. For that reason I don't use the site as much as I used to.

I use you tube to watch how to videos, mostly crochet and loom knitting and hacks.

I stay away from YouTube videos as a rule, as I've found they're super addictive for me! like, yeah, I found myself a couple years back watching half an hour or an hour before bed, and YEP it interfered with my sleep. I do find YouTube useful for How-To vids, motivation vids, and I get quite a bit of choreography/dance inspiration from them. But I am careful to only watch the video I searched for, or I know I'll fall into the YouTube rabbit hole and end up spending time I don't have watching stuff that doesn't add any real value to my life!
-
i only use you tube if i need to know how to frix something like my printer at work.It was very helpful as it showed me howci could fix a printing issue.
-
Youtube has stuff on absolutely every topic and interest so sometimes it's hard not to fall down a rabbit hole. But I use it primarily for background music, stand up comedy, or sound effects (rain/storm/nature sounds are great for when I'm not in the mood for music but don't want silence) while I work.
-
I seldom watch any YouTube videos, but by husband is right now listening to Josh Groban :) :) :) :) :)
