I just saw my first ad for the upcoming holiday movie "Cats." I have seen it years ago in a stage play so I wasn't really considering going. However, after watching the outtakes, I may. I caught some of the people who will be in it and they include Jennifer Hudson, Taylor Swift, James Corden, among others I couldn't catch. Anybody else seen an ad and considering going?

I saw it at the Muny Theater in St. Louis years ago as a stage musical and I did not like it at all. :turkey:
The person we took along with us to see it absolutely loved it. I think it's one of those things you either love or hate. :-\ I have not really considered going to see it as a movie. But it might play better than a stage musical. Not sure.
It will be interesting to see if people post how they liked it after they go.

I did not think they were making a movie from this play. it was playing for the longest time in new york city. Then it ended and that was that. I will watch the movie just to see the acting and hear the music that is in the movie

I knew about the stage play but not the movie.

I love Cats! I've seen it multiple times on stage. I'll probably watch the movie, but nothing compares to seeing it live on stage. From what I've seen in the trailers, the CGI makes the cats look weird, just furry people. Their faces are too human, and it's kind of disturbing. :cat:

I, too, LOVED seeing CATS on stage & have seen it many times in the past 25+ years. I was intrigued with a movie CATS, but then I saw the previews & it looks awful, like a bunch of furries that talk -- there is no talking in cats, just singing & it works to tell a beautiful story. I won't go out of my way to watch the movie.

Not really into it. Saw the play on TV once. Apart from the ONE famous song it has, I didn't dig it.

I have not seen the ad but have heard of the play.....doesn't seem like something for me that I would go see ... I haven't heard or looked up much about it to be honest with you.

I think the movie looks very good. It would be something I would want to see

I've been hearing some really bad reviews about the movie. I don't care for cats in general so I'm not interested in it.
-
I've seen some reviews on the internet which haven't been too kind.
-
I have seen the ad for the movie, but don't like it, creepy looking cats, don't get me wrong, I like cats, just not these.

Creepy, indeed. Iread they elongated their bodies using CGI ... completely unnecessary; they're people playing CATS, we all know this, no one was expecting them to have their bodies look any other shape than a person's.

I just don't know how the movie can top the play.
-
I've heard of it but don't plan on seeing it. Not interested and the animation looks weird.
-
i too have seen it in the theater but many years ago so it might be interesting to see the movie
-
I would love to see the movie and it performed on stage.
-
Tbh I've never seen the show and the trailer is one of the most disturbing things I've seen. I would have to be paid to see this movie, although I am getting a kick out of some of the reviews.

I heard about this movie about a month ago. I have no interest in it. It figures they would stick Taylor Swfit in something like this. ::)

I have heard of it but it seems weird to me but who knows.
-
I will wait to see this one to be on TV, if I ever do.
-
This movie's gonna be a one big NOPE from me, dawg.

Saw it and was truly disappointed. Should have asked for a refund, I have told anyone who will listen not to waste their time or money on it. I truly like several of the actors in it, but what a sad thing.
