Do you visit your physician regularly or only when you are ill? I have always visited regularly up until the last two years. I just haven't felt I needed to go. However, I have had a flu shot and colonoscopy and will soon go for my mammogram. I bet I will receive a call from my primary soon wanting me to come in. I guess I will go soon.

I haven't been to the doctor other than the eye doctor and dentists in about 8 years. I haven't been sick. What I don't know isn't hurting me at the moment.

Yes, I go to my primary doctor once a year for a checkup.

I just had to change my primary physician & get my first office visit with a physical tomorrow... usually I get my physical done at the beginning of every year to get my year on track, but the physician change is throwing a wrench in my normal plans.

Yes, I go to my primary doctor twice a year for a checkup and she usually gives me shots once a year and sends me for tests like colonoscopies and mammograms also. Then I only go to her when something happens like the time I got pneumonia. She fixed me up in no time when that happened.

Unless you are lucky enough to have insurance you cannot afford to just go to the doctor. And the "annual check up" is about $1500 so I don't see too many running in for that if they do not have insurance to get it all for free.

You must have really good insurance. Or the state insurance. It sounds like she is just in it for the money. There is no reason for you to need a check up twice a year. And you should not need tests and shots all the time either.

I am required to go every 3 months for two reasons. One to get the results of my blood work or the order for the next blood work and because it is a requirement for pain medication I am on for chronic pain. In fact I had blood work today and go to the primary tomorrow

I have to go in to see my primary physician every three months because I have type 2 diabetes and some other conditions that need medication. I kind of don't mind, though, because I never have a long waiting room wait to see her, and she is the most personable doctor I've ever had. It's like a cross between going to see my doctor and going to visit a very good friend! :peace:

I try to go regularly because you never know what would change with your health in a short period of time.
-
I go twice a year because of a history in my family of several different medical issues. So far so good! Yes, I have been fortunate to always have good healthcare. Lots of things for others could also be discovered and taken care of early if they could afford to go to the doctor.
-
I don't go to doctors just because. I only go if something is wrong and knock on wood I'm not a sickly person.
-
due to diabetes i go to the doctor every 3-4 months. Other that that i get about 1 cold a year and don't have to go for that.
hope everyone stays healthy this year. :present: :peace:

Very true. I knew a guy who never could afford ins. He had been sick for a while and went to the doctor. They found he had cancer. They did not even try to treat him. They sent him home with morphine - to die! If he had insurance they would have at least tried to treat him. It is all about money. Not at all about caring or helping people.

I have to go every three months and was supposed to go today but woke up thinking nope not today. For one thing I just got around to getting my blood work done yesterday and I need her to have the results back before I go so that was a valid enough excuse for me to re-schedule.

I have a disability, so I have to make regular doctor visits, have one coming up on the 10th, and later this month to class for knee replacement.
-
I would say monthly for me like every 3-4 months depending on if I have time or not.

I visit my physician/have an appointment every six months (or so) which is what my insurance covers. I do a medical check on friday and a physical in June. I am not sure if that will hold true in two thousand and twenty as my insurance coverage has changed: same cost but dramatically less coverage. I have not gone in any more than that over the last five years. My wife and kids go in more frequently and I have added coverage for my dogs. It is amazing how expensive insurance has gotten. My homeowners insurance charges an extra three hundred dollars a month because we have a wood shingle roof. If the roof goes bad the insurance will only cover forty percent of the cost. We switched insurers and save about eight hundred dollars a month

I go once a year for my annual wellness check. This year I had to go more often because I broke my metacarpal #5 bone. All healed up now.
-
i see mine every 6 months and also have a wellness check every year for shots, mammograms and such

I've never gone to a doctor just to make sure everything was okay. Only if something is wrong, and wrong enough to justify the hassle/expense.

Me too. I have heard several say they get a complete physical every 6 months. I am curious as to how they get insurance to pay for it? It is not necessary. And if you pay out of pocket you are looking at probably $1500 or that is what they told me when I called to inquire about costs.

I visit my primary physician annually for my Annual Physical.
I also see my Dermatologist almost annually. This year I'm glad I didn't skip her! I had 3 spots biopsied.
One mole turned out to be a melanoma. Luckily for me very very early stage so a surgery took the mole and a 1cm margin around it. All clear now.

I generally just go in for my yearly physical; unless something pops up in between; try my best to stay healthy.
-
I went yesterday for my regular visit and ended up getting some prednisone and tamiflu

I have to see my primary once a year for blood tests for hypothyroid. I see a GI, rheumatologist and a cardiologist every 3 mo so I get plenty of pokes and prods.
-
I see my Primary Doctor in January. Three times a year. Checking my vitamin d, sugar, and liver.

I just saw my cardiologist last week and primary care this week.
