have to admit I look at the local news to see how many in northern ca are infected. my son who is a janitor at a school district is off for paid vaca for 3 weeks. he brought home some t.p. so all is good. he can now also mow the lawn and well that's the most important.He doesn't want to get take out good for him a little chubby.

Now is definitely a time for people to consume less & perhaps some of us will become a little less chubby... one good thing maybe?

Yes. My husbands brother lives in San Fransisco and they are currently on lock down. I feel like that is whats next here where I live.

Yes, it does seem like the world is closing down little by little. I scored a package of TP in the next town over today...WooHoo! (I never thought I'd get excited about TP) LOL

Explain to me why the toilet paper craze. Everywhere I go people are clamoring for it and/or hoarding it. :confused1:

Toilet paper is something I never run out of. Everytime Winn Dixie has a sale on it I go in and purchase the maximum quantity and it always lasts until the next sale(nothing to do with the coronavirus). They had the sale last month before all this started and I stocked up so I will have enough for 3-4 months.

My family has some connections so TP isn't a problem where I'm at but it is funny how TP is the one thing that goes out of shelves so fast.

I already work from home so I am already on lockdown most of the time anyways. I have enough toilet paper good for about a month or two for my family. My dad works outside of the home and is still working, but has reduced hours. He works as a chef at Amgen, which probably cannot completely close down since they are probably working on a vaccine for the Coronavirus or something of that sort.

i can't believe the craze on tp its crazy you can't find it anywhere right now !! i am going crazy here at home already !! i don't get to work my regular hours because i have lupus and can catch anything ! ugh i am so looking forward to vacation in may i sure hope they don't close the beaches in florida

Folks here are hoarding the TP in Georgia. Kids are doing school from home until March 31. My husband is working at home as well.

Las Vegas went dark today. No hotels or casinos are open. They kicked guests out. We are not allowed to gamble period. All stores that have machines have closed the machines. they want to give americans money but no where to spend it. How is that suppose to stimulate economy? I guess the idiot in White House has not thought that far ahead. But what else is new. People will stop paying mortgages, rent, utilities knowing they will not be shut off. How does that help economy?

I think the toilet paper rage is dying down. In two grocery stores, I saw plenty of it on the shelves. No hand sanitizer though.

I figure if people are wacky enuff to think they exist,then i can think they have an inside track on some TP.

lol -- "the idiot in the White House" did not close down Vegas -- states control what happens to the states not the Federal government. The Mayor of Las Vegas & the governor of Nevada decided it was in the best interest for humanity to close down their city to prevent the spread of the WuhanVirus - which will overrun their health care system if left unchecked. Government is thinking that saving millions of American lives is more important than money at this time. The economy can be fixed, can't fix the dead.
You should watch the daily WuhanVirus press briefings if you don't already they are pretty informative.

This is insanity. Honestly every time I try to order food online it may look available then when you actually try to check out it says out of stock. And my neighborhood is like a ghost town it is rare to see anyone out when I go to the community mail box.

I think we could be handling this differently. You never hear the recovery rate and a lot of the numbers coming out are false and misleading. We are locked down until April 30th. There are drugs that seem to be working very well to get people over it, even when they are at death's door, keeping people from getting it. I think, we could get this over much quicker if we handled it a little differently. But, that's just my opinion.

I was looking at some stuff food wise on Walmart.com and all of it, everything I clicked to look at said out of stock. No matter what we headed for a recession cause people will be stocked with food for a few months even if we go back to somewhat normal and the virus is gone. Although I honestly do not think people will ever be normal again.

I agree. The people are never tested again so you do not know they are better which you are not tested for the flu a 2nd time. You get over it and you move on. You see x thousand cases here or there and this is compiled over a few weeks. The first ones to be positive are most likely completely over it. When people are "at death's doors" they are dying alone in the hospital. No family is allowed to be with them, near them, or in the building even. That is really sad. People are too stupid to grasp that if only 1.5% die from this that 98.5% recover fully. And you don't have it forever. It if a fear monger thing. It is an excellent way to control. People are not seeing that either. Some are but most are not. At least not until it effects them personally.

We are still short on plenty of things in my area. Sometimes have to go 2-3 places to find things. I still can't get over how there is a TP shortage everywhere. Just don't get it.

We have not gotten to lock down status but I think we will be getting there soon. I am praying that they find a solution to this virus soon. I usually stock up when paper product is on sale so I am good in that department for a while.

I drive through town and to the park everyday. Working on the same tank of gas I bought 3 weeks ago. Our gas price here is $1.89/gallon.

this virus is new, meaning nobody has immunities from it, so if you get around it it will make you sick. but it will be back like most flu's but it won't be so bad because your body built immunities the last time.

Look at us hoarding toilet papers. Buying extra things just in case we have to be at home for 14 days or even more. This is a story that will be in the history books. But nothing beats going through the craziness in person. That's probably what the people going through the great depression thought too.
