Title: Back to church?
Post by: pectacon on May 27, 2020, 08:58:51 am
Churchgoers, what's the current situation with yours? Are they opening and are you planning to go back as soon as they do? Mine is starting to try to make the decision when to open. I bet a lot of people will still want to worship from home for a while even after services resume.

The governing body of JWs will make that decision to all when im sure it will be safe to resume normal service. As of now where the virus is still ongoing there is still no door to door for ministry.Bible studies via phone and meetings using Zoom.

And dont forget,we all have JW.org,a site like no other to learn the bible truths.

We had services last weekend. People had to sign up to attend to keep the attendance at 25%.  Lots of safety measures in place. Some people wore masks, some not. Everyone practiced social distancing. It was good to be back.

What is over-looked too is churchs losing money.

They forget Jesus words RE the truth.Jesus said, you received free, give free.Something TRUE GODS people do worldwide.

“For the word of God is alive and exerts power and is sharper than any two-edged sword and pierces even to the dividing of the soul and spirit, and of the joints and their marrow, and is able to discern the thoughts and intentions of the heart.”—Heb. 4:12.

we have been having online service each week right now it is still too soon in Illinois to go any further. I do miss seeing my friends face to face instead of online.

Our church is still not open and doesn't have any plans to open soon. We have a large population of elderly people in our congregation, so it doesn't make sense to our pastor to open the doors just yet. We have, of course, been having services online, complete with the music ministry, etc., so it's not like we've been missing that part of church. Of course, not seeing everyone there has been difficult for a lot of people, but we know that this pandemic won't last forever and we'll be seeing each other in person soon enough.  :peace:

I am enjoying the services from our church on line.   I like to know that even if I go out of town or have something to do, I can still catch the  service on line.   We also have fellowship with each other on line and zoom.  We have so many elderly and several with chronic illnesses that we will not rush back to in person services.

For now my church is not open. City doesn't want mass gatherings or any gatherings at the local churches at this time . Can't blame them you don't want to catch corona

The church I usually attend is 100% closed until further notice. In the meantime, I am attending a church where the services are streamed on Facebook.

Even if the churches open again, I don't plan to go back to church. It's more convent to watch church service on line.

They announced plans to safely go back, but it's optional. I miss church, but I'm still not comfortable going back just yet. Feels too soon.

I think some churches are open, but there are others who refuse to stop going to church.  I think it is too soon to open some churches and businesses.

Our church is still closed, but we all just took a survey on when and how to reopen.  Our governing body will give the guidelines, but we have some say in when we all go back.  My Sunday School class has been using Zoom, but they decided to start meeting at the local park.  They were even going to bring food.  One of the leaders said that we would probably want to be hugging each other, and this leader expressed her opinion that this would be fine.  I'm not ready for any of that yet.  I felt safe with Zoom meetings.  My husband's cousin expressed that she is not going to live her life in fear.  I say, I'm not living my life in fear, I'm living it in safety.  She did not follow the journey of a personal friend who is still struggling after 40 days in the hospital, and who's doctors named him Lazarus because he should not be alive today!

The Lazarus story in the bible is quite interesting. He was dead a few days when Jesus went to resurrect him.

Note that when Lazarus was alive again he spoke of NO heavenly bliss or hellfire.

Backs up Eccl 9:5 that the dead are conscious of nothing. He woulda thanked Jesus from rescuing him from hell,or cursed him taking him outta heaven.

He was asleep and non-existent.

Our churches reopened to limited capacity two weeks ago on Pentecost Sunday. We have to sign up in advance to reserve a spot and they have only designated pews available for seating to maintain distancing. All occupied pews are then cleaned and sanitized afterward by staff and churchgoers can only enter and exit the building through one designated doorway. They are encouraging elderly parishioners to remain at home and they are still regularly streaming Masses through their Facebook and YouTube pages.

Ours has now announced that they're opening at the end of the month for worship but that there will still be no in-person sunday school group meetings, we will continue to do that on zoom.

Hi!

I hope it opens soon for you all. I personally don't go because I believe church is where your heart is.

I am not a churchgoer, so I don't know what is going on in my community with that. I do hope that the ones that open up  require their parishioners to wear masks and that they only allow enough people into the services that 6 feet of space can be guaranteed for each person.

Mine opened, but for once a month and at a 50 person capacity. I'm staying at home and will do my own at-home church.
