Title: Any of you drink milk other than cow's milk?
Post by: mamatygress on February 15, 2021, 09:00:45 am
I have a sensitivity to cow's milk.  It's not bad and doesn't always happen, but I allows feel bloated.  I'm considering trying an alternative--soy, almond, oat, etc.  Have you tried other types?  Which ones do you like?  Any specific brand?

Sorry no help from me I tried soy milk and just didn't like it.  I am a cow's milk girl all the way.  I am blessed not to have any issues with it.  Hope you find something you like and that works for you.

I don't drink it straight but I use plant based milks in cereal and recipes.  I use almond milk.  I like the almond/coconut blend.  I use soy milk.  I've tried macadamia, oat and flax milk.  I hate cows milk and I rarely cook with it.

Almond milk is good, my husband has a bad reaction to regular cow's milk but he has been using Lactose Free milk for his cereal and he says it has been very good for his stomach and taste good too.  Fairlife, Trader Joe;s Lactose Free and Lactaid are very good but now a days Lidl Walmart and grocery stores have their own brands and they are pretty good too.

I've tasted a few as my dad is lactose intolerant and both of us always found the alternatives icky. We finally found lactaid and he does just fine with it. It tastes exactly like normal cow milk.

As for animal milk - I have had goat milk fresh and powdered.  I like almond, soy, coconut, hemp, almond/coconut, and oat. I like the varieties that come in the refrigerator section more than the shelf-stable boxes and the shelf-stable boxes are better than the powdered ones.

Yes, I drink almond milk. I will drink soy milk if Almond milk is not available. I have never tried oat milk, but I think I might one day if almond and soy are not available.  It might taste good.

We are sensitive to milk, so drink lactaid free milk.  (I know still cow's milk).  Sometimes I get coconut milk or almond milk for recipes.

I don't have any sensitivity, but I have tried a number of plant based products like soy milk and almond milk which I like. I think plant based products are easier for my digestive system and their textures and tastes have really improved over the years. They are also becoming a lot more readily available in grocery stores and club stores, as well as online.
