Post by: mrsmere on March 04, 2021, 07:37:30 am: I would be glad to have any kind of vacation long or short. I didn't go anywhere last year and the cabin fever is closing in but I don't know when I'll be able to go on a cruise again. I'm thinking about planning a mountain trip.

This summer I had the opportunity to visit Germany for the first time, and it was an amazing experience. We visited plenty of their cities, monuments, great buildings, etc. I also was surprised with the kindness of german people as they're usually considered to be pretty gold. Nah, that's BS! We also had a great time traveling by train. We got tickets to Berlin at dbauskunft.com (https://www.dbauskunft.com/de/) because we didn't want to go there by plane or by car. It was a good decision because german trains are high-class.

I do not need a long vacation, and I am looking forward to that first paycheck. That said, I will be permitted to take a vacation next summer for the week that my family and I already had planned to go on a scheduled outing - which will be nice. I would have gladly skipped the vacation and stayed at home to go to work that week while my wife and daughter had fun in the sun - IF that had been required of me. But thankfully, I will be entitled to it.
