This happened in Chicago a few days ago. A 7yr old girl with her dad driving through a mc donalds drive thru they were both shot and killed. Little coverage on the news. How many times did I go through the drive thru myself over the years and do now . Can't imagine why so not fair going from depressed about it to angry always hear the violence is bad in chicago.

These are hitting us in our most vulnerable places. 3rd McDonalds related shooting.. Read about a lady killed while walking her dog in England. Really afraid to leave the house now.

I am sure there is way more to this than the media is releasing. Of course they have to make it out to be a black thing. I would be willing to bet 100% this was personal and the adult in the car knew the shooter.

What difference does being "a child" make? A kid's life is worth more than an adult? Nobody said anybody had the right to kill someone else. But a lot of times these situations are not random. They people know each other and there is a motive behind the killing.

There are those that would say yes.

Murder is murder whether it be an abortion,a random shooting or a hit.
In the sense of the child it may have been deliberate or they were in wrong place at wrong time.
NO one has the right to take the life of another and God will be the judge of that.
Yes i know some of you will ask,what if i am defending myself or my family?God approves of other alternatives and if we kill someone by trying not to, let God be the judge of that.

There are those that would say yes.
Those people have issues. Every life matters. No one life is more important than any other except to that person's family. Age doesn't make your life more valuable.

shooter was aiming for the 29yr old. Probably drugs or something not the girl. she just in way.

they caught the shooter not sure how but it was a chase on the freeway. good news

Its simply not safe in certain areas of the country right now. Chicago before the pandemic or any riots was turning into a crime infested crapper thanks to there still mayor that they have now. You are better off getting the ingrediants and cooking at home in areas there are high crime. Going out could is risky in those areas and can cause you your life. But if you live in area where crime isn't that bad going through a drive thru shouldn't be a scary situation

What I don’t understand is, that if the dad was the target, why was the little girl shot several times? Was, the dad using his kid as a shield?!!!!!!!! Parents would cover the child with his/her body to protect the child?

These cops need to be fired for the kind of jobs they are doing. I wonder how they feel about reciprocity. The problem is still ongoing, just in different states. The madness has to stop.

OMG I cant believe you even asked the question about what difference is it if it's a "child" are you really that heartless? A "child" is so innocent and doesn't deserve to pass so young. not that anyone deserves to die but damn a child who is just starting out in life. I cant believe you dont have a clue, WOW, just WOW !!

So sorry to hear about this. I haven't heard anything on the news about this. It is a shame that you can't even go out to get something to eat without getting killed.

Ignorance amazes me. ::) Was the child not sitting in the passenger seat? Is this the story where they were sitting in the drive thru at a fast food joint? No the dad was not using his kid as a shield. In situations like this, as well as all drive by shootings, multiple shots are fired. They don't aim for a specific person. The bigger question is what is the father involved in that put his child in danger?

How exactly do you think a cop could stop this? Maybe since you are such an expert you should go apply with your local law enforcement departments. Since you can solve all this I am sure they will love having you join the department.

It is sad and it always seem more sad when you see the potential for the child. If the adult was in trouble, then it is twice as sad that the child was in the way. SHe was probably excite about getting a treat.

Its a bad time. I told my husband we arent going to leave the house. So many shootings you never know where or when the next one will be.
