I finally got a question on a survey that asked if I was Married or Living With Partner and had a final question that asked if there was anything about the survey I wanted to comment on.
I did tell them there was a huge difference between the two and I found that question objectionable after 50 years of marriage next month.

So far just a quiet dinner at a nice upscale restaurant and some time alone. This Saturday we attended a celebration for some close friends on their 50th and since he is Hawaiian, it was a real event. They really know how to party.

We would have been married 53 years this year. The only problem is...I had too much pressure from my dad and he sent me away to school (yeah, he sent me...saying I needed some career to fall back on if the marriage didn't work. So, we broke up after almost a year. Long distance relationships don't work if parents don't want a close relationship to work most of the time. it was 3 years later when we finally got back together. Both of us married someone else in those 3 years and we each had a son. Girlfriend saw him one day and called to ask if I wanted to see him again and he came to my place and never left.

Yes there are so many surveys that either combine two alternatives into the same response that ARE NOT the same thing - or fail to provide an "Other" or "None of the Above" response where appropriate, etc.
I am also convinced that many surveys intentionally draft the questions seeking to manipulate the submitted results to meet their bias rather than to get an objective sampling.
That's not just here or in the different paid survey panels, but just in general.

That's easy, since I have 13 grandkids to watch grow up and two of them are married to make it continue as long as I expect to be around.

We had our 50th in June. Does not seem possible since I feel like we are so much younger. Congratulations on your big milestone.
