This video is, granted, a bit extreme and offensive, but it raises a good point: Accountability is a good thing.  There are far too few people who take responsibility for their own actions in this world, and can you think of any reasons why?  If nothing I do will ever be good enough, why should I waste my time being good?

I like this video.

the bible clearly says the only way to get to heaven is throught the son (Jesus). If you choose not to believe, then you go to hell, its very simple. It does not matter how nice you are, if you dont believe you go to hell
That sounds like a pretty crappy heaven then because I know a lot of nice people who aren't Christians. I'll take hell. ;D

Debate & Discuss / Re: Its never OK to hit a woman...Men who do that are punks
« on: July 13, 2011, 02:40:18 am »Message ID: 384448
I wish a guy would hit me but of course that wouldn't happen cause I am with a girl.
Why would you wish a guy to hit you? D:
And always keep in mind that girls can be abusive too. (Not saying that she is though)

And it's never OK for women to hit men.

Nobody, man or woman, should stay in a relationship with an abusive partner.
Exactly. I even saw on some show "What Would You Do" where they shown the guy being rough (Not even hitting) the girl and everyone and their mother came over to yell at him and call the police but when the girl was beating on the guy, nobody did anything and one girl even made a "you go girl" gesture. When asked, people said they assumed the guy did something wrong and deserved it which is a complete BS excuse anyway.

^ Isn't TSA already looking through everyone's clothes? :angry7:

Before I start ranting on why liberty is more important than security, I'll go back to the topic.

I agree, I noticed that many people who live here don't know much about current events in their country, let alone their history. Then people are like "YEAH USA SO AWESOME YEAH" when really it's not doing so great but everyone's too busy to realise that. You don't have to say the country's doing terrible but if your friend was acting like a douchebag, would you be like "It's okay, you're still cool." or would you say "I think there's some areas you can improve..."

Debate & Discuss / Re: Are you scared to die?

No I'm not. Maybe a little scared to die in a really painful way but the being dead part or dying in a not so bad way, no. Of course I don't want to die right now, I still got things to do first.

A little bit because they don't really acknowledge slavery as being wrong. And I don't mean "Oh they won't apologize for their ancestors!" no, I mean the ones I've met just flat out say "It was the Lord's will to do that." which sounds like a cop out to me. So then when I see the flag, I'm like "Oh great." ::)

Or you could believe that God created the chicken egg for the chicken to hatch out of.  ;D
Oh right, the one that takes the best of both.  ;D
God created evolution.

Debate & Discuss / Re: To Abort or Not to Abort a pregnancy
« on: July 13, 2011, 01:59:23 am »Message ID: 384441
Women believe there are many reasons to abort such as fear of having or raising a child, rape, or not having enough money. But whatever the situation, there is never an acceptable reason to get an abortion. Some important reasons why women should not abort have to do with human values, religious values, and values of conscience.

The first reason why women should not have an abortion is related to basic human values. Women need to think about their unborn babies who are not responsible for this situation. These unborn babies should have the privilege to live and grow into a normal person. Women need to be more humanitarian and less egoistic with these babies. On the other hand, the baby doesn’t know how or why he is here. It is not necessary to kill a life; there are many other solutions to resolve this problem short of abortion.

The second reason why women should not abort has to do with religious values. In almost all religions, a woman is not permitted to have an abortion. If they do, their religions will punish them. In some religions, for example, a woman cannot take communion after having an abortion, and before taking communion again, she must do many things as a form of penitence. In whatever religion, abortion is punished and for this reason, women should not abort.

Finally, the third and most important reason why women should not abort is the related to her conscience. When a woman has an abortion, she will always think about the baby she might have had. She will always think about the future that could have happened with her baby which will always remind her that she killed it. Because she has had an abortion, she will never have a good life, and her conscience will remind her of what she had done. Because a woman who has an abortion can’t forget about what she has done, these thoughts will always be with her, and the results can be calamitous.  :angel11:
1. The fetus (Not a 'baby') isn't aware it's even alive, is not even sentient for that matter until I think 7 or 8th month. Until it gets into later in the pregnancy, it's a clump of cells that looks nothing like a human. As I said in another thread, all those 'pro life' pictures of aborted fetuses, if they look like a baby then it was a late term abortion and you'll be hardpressed to find a pro choice person that agrees with late term.

2. Religion plays no part in a logical argument.

3. You're generalising that all women will feel guilty and not live a good life. This is false.

I think abortion should be the last option but still an option. If you don't like abortion or think you'll feel guilty then you don't get one. You have a right to your beliefs and opinions but you have no right to push them on someone else.

I wouldn't say this is one persons belief. Notice the grammar. She obviously plagerized this from someone else.
That was my first thought on reading the OP's post.

It depends on what you're comparing it to. If you're comparing it to the ~American Dream~ then no it's not. If you're comparing to the rest of the world, it is.

But that said, I wish I made half of what you did. Also if you're unemployed and eating out 4 times a week, that's really bad money management. And like the others said, you should use better spelling/grammar and not be making whole threads complaining about comments that members made.

I've never even been employed. (Only 17, don't worry. It's not like I'm 25) I keep searching for jobs but they all say they want experience. Well how can I get experience if I'm never give the chance to get any? It sucks because I have to move out in seven months (Hence why I'm doing all I can to scourge up some extra money like being on this site)

Trolololo.
I think there's a God but I don't think he's very loving. I think he's more like the stressed out 14 year old playing the Sims.

By the way, I only read the first page. I can't be arsed to go through eight more.

You can't 'turn' or 'go' gay, it doesn't work like that. Same reason why ex-gay therapy doesn't work. This is kind of a 'the grass is greener' post. You've seen best friends who are both girls get into fights right? Putting a romantic relationship into it makes it ten times worse. And then of course you have people debating over whether or not you should be allowed to be a first class citizen, gay men get beat up/lesbians don't get taken seriously....wait a minute did you just say a man can't get abused?

I only like Bad Romance and that's it, the rest are meh. I don't see why she's so popular and why people were calling her inspirational before her new album because all she wrote about was sex, drinking, and clubs.

But it's annoying when people who don't like her try to insult her by saying she is/looks like a man. She's not and if she was, why would that matter? ::)
And I assure you, not all LGBT likes her. In fact most find her to be using the community to make money.

I got a little annoyed when I joined the last day of June and then only posted 11 times. Then it didn't count for the next month so that was a bit of a waste but I found if you just come on enough, it's easy to get your post count up.
