Off-Topic / Rakuten

For those of you who have used Ebates in the past - That company changed to Rakuten.  They still do the same thing; meaning that, you can receive "rebates" when you click through the website to shop online.

Now they're doing something more....

They've announced that you can received 5% cash back at thousands of restaurants.  Just thought you'd like to know.  I still have a lot to learn about this.

I think you do the "restaurant thing" via the Rakuten App.  It's currently available for people who use iOS but will be coming soon to Android.

Do you use Rakuten?

The last couple of times when I completed this offer.....

Explore New Websites Now!
Cent(s) awarded after you complete each web view. You must visit each site, partial credit will not be awarded.

I was burned.  The claim bar has been deactivated.  I don't know who is responsible for ripping us off but someone is setting their self up by creating some negative karma.

Off-Topic / The Joker Movie
« on: October 05, 2019, 12:41:17 am »Message ID: 1295843
I understand that we all have our own "taste" in movies.  Personally, I like movies that are based on a true story.

The Joker is a movie that was recently released and a percentage of people are saying it's "dark and disturbing".

There are also people talking about mental health issues.

This movie is not my "cup of tea" so I wouldn't be willing to watch it.

How about you?

Will you be seeing it?

If you do - please let us know what you think.

I love downsizing because I'm a minimalist but it is a part time job.  There's always something I can throw away, donate or sell.

I really like what Metsrock69 is doing.  I might have to experiement with some of those apps in the future.  Swagbucks now has a feature called In-Store promotions where you scan and upload receipts too.

I think DoorDash was losing drivers.  That's why they decided to create a new pay model.  As the middleman between people buying and paying drivers they weren't able and willing to decrease their own costs so people ordering food have to pay more.

I delivered one order for DoorDash and my pay was $6.50 so I decided it wasn't really worth it to pay for gas and vehicle maintenance.

Relocating is a hassle but it will be the beginning of a new chapter for you.  You can downsize so you're able to decide what your priorities are - where your material possessions are concerned.

Same here.  I was disappointed when I didn't get my email but I guess I don't need to take it personally.

Off-Topic / Go-To Food

I go through phases where I like eating certain things that really hit the spot.

Lately, I've been reaching for this little number.

Plain greek non-fat yogurt with mandarin oranges and almonds.  I also like keeping a hard boiled egg in my fridge in case I'm in the mood for a deviled egg.

What is your Go-To food?

Is it always the same thing or do you switch it up occasionally?

I've never lived in any other state than Utah and if I'm being completely honest....

I love living here.

The only way that would change is if I was terminally ill I would want to relocate and move to a place where the Death with Dignity Act has been legalized.

Just sayin....

Sounds like some great entertainment but I've decided that a percentage of people tune into the Super Bowl so they can watch the very expensive commercials while they justify eating chips and salsa. :)

I love the older television programs and how harmless they are.  They make me laugh; even when, they're not trying to be funny.

Offers / KO Trivia App
« on: October 02, 2019, 11:17:12 am »Message ID: 1295373
Have you had the opportunity to experience the KO Trivia App?

I'm posting this under "Offers" because I found the app when completing offers in the Mobile App section of Fusioncash.

It's interesting....from my point of view.  You join tournaments where you answer trivia questions and compete with other people.  For example....if 4 people join a tournament - you'll have a 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th place winner.

If the tournament pays 50 coins - the 50 coins will be divided up between those 4 players with the 1st place player receiving the most coins.

When you watch an ad - you gain one "life".  When you answer a question incorrectly you lose one "life".

You can redeem 3000 coins for a .05 PayPal deposit.  That's just one of the rewards.

I'm always thrilled to see a website or App offering PayPal because that means they will probably do business with integrity.  PayPal has some pretty stiff requirements.

There's really no reason for me to promote the app.  Just offering information.  Have a great day.

Off-Topic / Flu Season Strategies
« on: October 01, 2019, 10:37:25 pm »Message ID: 1295282
How do you make sure you're healthy during flu season?

Do you chase down a flu shot?

The idea behind getting a flu shot is to build antibodies and strengthen immune system but I'm not promoting the idea that people should get a flu shot.  There are other ways to build antibodies by getting certain nutrients like; vitamin C, E, Zinc, Carotenoids and EFAs.

Sometimes I get a flu shot but I realize I need to do more than that.  I'm an herbalist so I make sure I have fresh garlic around.  I also have herbs like yarrow and cayenne because they're considered anti-viral.

One product I have in my refrigerator at all times is called Swedish Bitters.  Sometimes - if I end up with a sore and scratchy throat I buy a really hot salsa so I can burn the virus out.

I've also found that if I make sure I'm getting enough vitamin A I can prevent infection.

What do you do?

I now have a wonderful dentist and dental insurance but I've also experienced a crown falling off.  Fortunately, the glue is still on the tooth so I'm comfortable with it the way it is.
