Normally I am on the go..always. I am a stay at home mother of two boys and my nephew also lives with me. I am normally going, going, going til I drop tired as everything. Today I am taking a day for me and doing nothing. Although I did do my  laundry and my sisters and cook. This day is about slowing down, doing nothing but spending time with family and I am loving it.

Off-Topic / This year is already fading fast...

I can not believe kids will be out of school in a month or so. Time is flying by. Make sure you are enjoying it despite the circumstances life throws at you. Make your choices on purpose..when you come across a mountain. Continue to look over that horizon in faith for your news blessing. I have seen many of things I wish I wouldn't off. I had to grow up at the age of 10. Be a momma of my household because my mother worked 3 jobs to support us after my dad and her divorced. 6 years later my dad passed from cancer. Now my mothers body is riddled with arthritis where she can barely move. I know it's from all the hard work she did taking care of us. Sometimes you don't realize the important things in life because your too busy with the things that don't really matter, hurt feelings, harsh words, lies that may have been said about you. One thing I have learned in this life is your not promised tomorrow so make sure you live each day with intention, kindness, a thankful and helpful heart. You don't know what you may say or do that can harm or help someone. Just some randomness. Have a beautifully blessed day.

Off-Topic / Re: So who planted a garden this year?
« on: April 25, 2012, 05:33:31 am »Message ID: 526173
I live in an apartment but have a patio. I am planning on doing a bigger one next year. I am looking into different containers that would fit the amount of space I have which is not very large. I also don't have many windows except in my bedroom and the my sons bedroom. I would love to branch out into raspberries, black berries and blueberries. Also to have a fresh herb garden. I would like for it to be big enough where I could can some items for the fall and winter. It's all little steps. One at a time.

Off-Topic / So who planted a garden this year?
« on: April 24, 2012, 06:51:38 am »Message ID: 525652
I planted my first container garden this year since I live in an apartment. We have strawberries, banana peppers, jalapenos, bell peppers, tomatoes and romaine lettuces. I don't do well with keep plants alive. So I need some tips. Also if you know a natural remedy for fighting snails and slugs I could use the tips there as well. I am hoping next year to do a much bigger garden than this year. It was done kind of on a whim just to see if I could produce in hopes for next year.

Off-Topic / It's chilly here in SC
« on: April 23, 2012, 05:56:15 am »Message ID: 525167
We have been experiencing above normal temps. Which means strawberries have came out early and I am thoroughly enjoying them. It is very chilly this morning though. What's the temp in your neck of the woods... I know it has to be cold some where.

If you go under the Daily Marker it should be under there for your videos. If you don't see it more than likely there aren't any at this time. I am fairly new myself.

Off-Topic / Kidney stones hurt....
« on: April 21, 2012, 06:11:18 am »Message ID: 524201
Kidney stones are horrible...This is probably around my 7th bout with kidney stones. All because of 1 little indulgence of a soda.... I normally only drink water or lemonade because soda causes these stones my body can't process the coloring in soda.....It is not worth the pain that it causes... Someone needs to remind of that when I want one so badly next time... :BangHead:

Off-Topic / Sunday is Earth Day do you have any plans? Gardening, recycling & crafts.
« on: April 20, 2012, 05:48:16 am »Message ID: 523666
This Sunday April 22nd is Earth Day. I am all about teaching our children eco responsibility, reduce, reuse & recycle. We recycle as much as possible. We try to reuse items when we can. We try to buy local when we can. I also have changed our diet to more raw and organic meals with less processed foods. I make my own cleaners except detergent...that is a hurdle I have not jumped yet. I do have the items to just not the time yet. Today begins our Earth Day weekend. Tonight is my kids school carnival. We will be pumping money back into our community and having fun. We are going to our local icecream shop after. Tomorrow we will go strawberry picking at a local farm. To show the kids how fresh strawberries taste, let them dig into the dirt and have responsibility over their own food choice and see how hard the farmers work toward their product to sell. Sunday the big day. We will be making felt hand puppets using old scrap fabric, clothing and other items from my craft box and things we find around the house. We will be going through items in the household and finding things to make a windchime for our back patio. We will also plant some basil and cilantro to go with our patio garden we started last week. We live in a small apartment and have a container garden of tomatoes, bell peppers, hot banana peppers, strawberries, jalepeno's & romaine lettuce. We also have a cabbage for a project for my son's school. The kids picked out an orange gerber daisy and I pick a red lily. To go along with the strawberry picking we will be making a recipe from some of the strawberries we pick. Probably a strawberry cream cheese muffin for their breakfast for the week. What idea's do you have to keep this Earth beautiful for our kids? What do you do to teach them how prescious our home is we all share? :peace:

Off-Topic / Re: MY SON HAS AUTISM!!!IT'S A HARD LIFE....
« on: April 18, 2012, 07:10:26 am »Message ID: 522701
My nephew is Autistic and my sister is losing it more everyday. He is 4 years old....She is slipping away further and further. I know it is hard when your child has a disability but you can't let it take over you as my sister has...She in herself has lost her grip on reality... I am afraid she will never be the same. He does not sleep well so neither does she. She isn't taking care of herself. Not eating, not sleeping... How can you care for your children if you don't care for yourself. Especially one that is Autistic. She has help, he has all sorts of therapies and goes to school. What can I do to help her more? I myself has two children and one of my nephew living with me.... I really think she needs a therapist too. Is this something that you do? Please let me know how I can be more helpful to her.
