Off-Topic / Suicide Thoughts and Opinions?
« on: May 06, 2013, 04:18:16 am »Message ID: 732806
The following headline circulated the local media here:

AZ's suicide rate rises among middle-aged

Basically the suicide rate for people between 38 and 64 has risen dramatically. Being in that age group, I certainly understand why.
I am depressed, but no where near suicidal.

What are your thoughts on suicide?
Leave them alone and let them do it or lock them up until they can see a life ahead?

Off-Topic / Lake Superior State University 2013 List of Banished Words
« on: January 18, 2013, 04:40:16 am »Message ID: 673859
Here is the Lake Superior State University 2013 List of Banished Words:

FISCAL CLIFF, KICK THE CAN DOWN THE ROAD, DOUBLE DOWN, JOB CREATORS/CREATION, PASSION/PASSIONATE, YOLO, SPOILER ALERT, BUCKET LIST, TRENDING, SUPERFOOD, BONELESS WINGS, GURU.

What do you think about the list? Do you have words or phrases to add?

I think would add, "My bad." People sound like a 3-year old using this.

Grandbabies should have been chucked a long time ago. It's grandchildren, grandsons, or granddaughters.

IMHO.

Off-Topic / Children swimming
« on: September 03, 2012, 02:44:45 am »Message ID: 598706
At the pool of the apartment complex last night, there was a female child about 8 or 9 years old swimming topless. It made quite a few people uncomfortable. I do wonder what the reason would be for this behavior. I do worry about the child, for any sexual predators that may be around.  Personally I think think she was a bit old for the parents to allow that, but I am old. Am I off my rocker?

FC Survey: Office Products Survey    2012-07-25    $2.40    Approved

I have been approved for a great survey. I think the FC surveys are great. I like the fact the daily P-T-C opens to the survey page when you are finished with the daily P-T-C.  I cashed out last month and have $18.24 so far this month. With 5 days left in the month and including the daily e-mails, daily P-T-C, cheap flights, etc. I would need to knock out $5.00 in surveys. It might be doable, but it depends on what surveys are available. Previously it has been 3-4 months between cash outs. The FC surveys have been a great help. Thanks FusionCash!

If I don't cash out this month I definitely will in the August as I have the $3.00 post bonus, and $1.00 payment bonus.

Off-Topic / What's the most you ever paid for a cup of coffee or tipped
« on: March 01, 2012, 12:33:28 pm »Message ID: 498274
My mom was telling a story of when she was in high school. She worked as a waitress after school. It was about this Texan came into the restaurant. In those days, you greeted the men who were alone with a cup of coffee and a newspaper. The man drank his coffee, which my mom refilled twice, he read the newspaper,  left the .35 cents for the coffee and $5.00 as a tip.

What is the most you ever paid for a cup of regular coffee?

Or what is the largest tip (% or amount) you ever left?

I would say when I was in Alaska, I paid 4.19 for a cup of coffee.

Another time here on the mainland, I left a $12 tip by accident. I had a meal and the total price of the meal was $8.04. I gave the waitress a $20 thinking it was a $10 and told her to keep the change. I didn't realize my mistake until about a week later.
