Off-Topic / SPREAD THE TRUTH END ABORTION!!!!!

Sarah L. Voisin / The Washington Post

As abortionist Kermit Gosnell’s murder trial is in the hands of the jury, abortion’s defenders are out in full force to spin and deflect the attention this trial has garnered from abortion in a broader sense.

Recently we wrote an On Faith column explaining how the horror of the Gosnell trial exposed the truth about abortion and the illogic of those who believe that what Gosnell is accused of doing to those infants after they were born would be perfectly acceptable if they were still in the womb.

The backlash from the pro-abortion side was swift.  Numerous abortion supporters commented that Gosnell’s trial was about mere “medical malpractice,” not abortion or murder.

The fact is Gosnell is on trial for capital murder for the heinous slaying of four newborn infants, born alive after botched abortions.  There is even testimony that 100 illegal late-term abortions were performed by Gosnell’s “House of Horrors” abortion clinic.

To call his actions mere “malpractice” is an insult to the newborns he is accused of slaughtering and a brazen assertion that abortion itself is the real victim.  We believe that abortion rights activists are reeling because abortion has been exposed for what it is: the taking of innocent human life.

As a prominent liberal commentator admitted, “I do think that those of us on the left have made a decision not to cover this trial because we worry that it’ll compromise abortion rights.”

Yet, the moment the media blackout on the abortionist’s trial was lifted, even if only for a moment, pro-abortion advocates began doubling down on that same illogical refrain, searching for a resonating pro-abortion message in the wake of the Gosnell trial.

Andrew Rosenthal of the New York Times editorial board echoed these sentiments as he attacked the thesis of our column.  Taking a page from the playbook of many in the abortion movement, he argues that instead of exposing the way abortion destroys the lives of unborn children, the Gosnell trial proves the need for more abortion, to make it easier to obtain and cheaper.  He even criticizes restrictions on federally-funded abortion, implying that they should be removed.

How would directly funding abortionists (including Gosnell) with our tax dollars have prevented the destruction of life?  It wouldn’t.

To those abortion activists guided by the mantra “abortion on demand without apology,” the horror of Gosnell is not that he took these babies’ lives, but that he didn’t end their lives before they were born.

Rosenthal ignores the facts in an attempt to separate what Gosnell did from abortion as a whole.  He asked, “What does the trial of a Philadelphia doctor who is accused of performing illegal late-term abortions by inducing labor and then killing viable fetuses have to do with the debate over legal abortion?”

“Fetuses”?  By any definition, a fetus is an unborn child.  Gosnell is on trial for murdering four newborn infants – babies born alive and then brutally killed.

To those like Rosenthal, Gosnell did something perfectly acceptable (abortion) in an illegal manner.  It’s as if he were caught driving 65 mph in a 35 mph zone. To them, had he ended these same individuals’ lives a few weeks prior, in utero, it would have been perfectly acceptable.

Going even further, Planned Parenthood and other so called “abortion-rights” activists have long been pushing to change the law so that much of what Gosnell did would be absolutely legal.

In addition to the federal partial-birth abortion ban, at least 41 states prohibit late-term abortions, including Pennsylvania and New York after 24 weeks and at least eight states after 20 weeks.

Planned Parenthood opposed the federal partial-birth abortion ban, taking their fight all the way to the Supreme Court.  It supports legislation in New York that would eradicate that state’s late-term abortion laws.  In 2001, Planned Parenthood joined then-State Senator Obama in failing to work to protect babies born alive after botched abortions in Illinois.  And until recently it opposed a similar bill in Florida.

How can we possibly trust that the very people who are attempting to end the life of a baby in utero would try to save the child’s life if they botched the abortion and the baby was born alive?

Now there are new reports of several abortionists caught on tape admitting they “would not help” a baby who survived an abortion. As reported in The Washington Post, undercover video shows abortionists and staff workers in D.C. and New York admitting they would withhold lifesaving medical care or kill a baby born alive as a result of a botched abortion.  The reports indicate there are still more undercover videos to come of this Gosnell-type horror at abortion clinics.

Questioned by reporters following the pro-life group’s exposé, one of the abortionists admitted his stance, “You let nature take its course.”  In other words, he openly said that he would allow a baby to die on the abortion clinic table without providing the infant due care, then said he considered pro-life activists to be “terrorists.”

Amidst this renewed debate about abortion, President Obama spoke to the largest abortion provider in America.  Obama told the organization that performs over 333,000 abortions and receives over $500 million in taxpayer subsidies annually, “Thank you, Planned Parenthood.  God bless you.”  Just weeks after a lobbyist for the abortion giant said to a state legislature that the decision on whether to provide medical care to an infant born alive after a botched abortion should be left to the “patient and the health care provider,” President Obama pledged his unyielding support for the abortion industry:  “Planned Parenthood is not going anywhere.  It’s not going anywhere today.  It’s not going anywhere tomorrow,” he told them.

As the bright light of truth shines on the abortion industry, the horror and illogic of abortion are being exposed, significantly disrupting the movement’s momentum.  The truth about abortion –that it is the brutal taking of an innocent life in the name of ‘choice’–is plain to see. We must continue to speak out in defense of the defenseless, and to name the injustice that we witness.

Rebekah,

Wednesday's Benghazi hearing confirmed a terrible truth – we left Americans behind. We left them to die in a hostile land.

There was never any evidence that a YouTube video was to blame for the terror attack that killed four brave Americans.

The military assets in place were ordered to "stand down" and not mount a rescue operation.

Secretary of State Hillary Clinton personally made the call to maintain the diplomatic presence in Benghazi, even as threats escalated, security was withdrawn, and other nations pulled out.

And this is the tip of the iceberg.

Your petition signatures have become national news, and more hearings are coming.

The Speaker of the House, John Boehner, is calling for the release of confidential emails that will tell more of the story of September 11, 2012. If you haven't signed our petition, now is the time:

Demand the Truth About Benghazi.

Rebekah,

In 2012 we demanded the truth, and we still demand the truth.

This week, the House investigates the terrorist attack on our consulate in Benghazi as the Obama Administration continues to stonewall.

The most recent reports are disturbing.

Evidence reveals the Administration knew from the beginning that an American ambassador and three other Americans died in a terror attack -- and not because of a video -- yet it refused to tell the truth to the American people.

Whistleblowers report that forces were available to help Americans battling for their lives, but the Administration refused to act and let them die.

The Obama Administration's Middle East policy is in a shambles; it empowers and even funds radicals and terrorists, and it refuses to face facts.

Now it may try to spin and lie even more to avoid accountability. Don't let them.

Sign Our Petition. Demand the Truth About Benghazi.

Rebekah,

There are ominous signs the U.S. military is turning its back on religious freedom.

Anti-Christian extremist Mikey Weinstein is now advising the Pentagon, helping set policy on religious tolerance in our armed forces.

Weinstein is anything but tolerant, attacking "fundamentalist Christian monsters" and calling Christians "pitiable unconstitutional carpetbaggers." He has directly compared Christians in the military to al-Qaeda and the Taliban.

Yet, the nation's military leaders at the Pentagon, which he refers to as the "Pentacostalgon," are actually consulting with Weinstein – relying on his input – as they create new policies that may roll back religious liberty – especially for Christians.

This must stop.

We must defend the religious freedom of those who defend our freedoms.

Sign the Petition to Protect Religious Freedom in the Military.

Rebekah,

Iranian authorities are now utilizing even more brutal tactics in their abuse of American Pastor Saeed Abedini.

This week, Pastor Saeed was thrown into solitary confinement in Evin Prison. He previously told his family that his first time in solitary confinement was one of the darkest times of his life. Days felt like years.

His medical condition is dramatically worsening as a result of Iran's escalating abuse. As his wife, Naghmeh, has reiterated, "Every day in that prison is a death sentence."

It is vital that we let Pastor Saeed, a U.S. citizen, know he is not forgotten. It's critical that the Iranian regime – and even the prison guards – realize that the world is watching.

Write Pastor Saeed a message and sign the petition for his freedom at SaveSaeed.org.

Send Pastor Saeed a letter – a message of hope – today.

Rebekah,

Last week the most pro-abortion President in our nation's history stood before the largest abortion provider in America and declared: "Planned Parenthood is not going anywhere. It's not going anywhere today. It's not going anywhere tomorrow."

Planned Parenthood ends the lives of over 330,000 babies every year while taking over 500 million of our tax dollars.

What did President Obama tell them? "Thank you, Planned Parenthood. God bless you."

Outrageous.

As abortionist Kermit Gosnell's murder trial for killing newborn babies concludes this week, let's not forget President Obama's and Planned Parenthood's long history opposing state laws that would prevent infanticide.

We must stop sending our tax dollars to the abortion industry.

Sign the petition to defund Planned Parenthood today.

Jay Sekulow

P.S. In addition to fighting to stop funding abortion, the ACLJ is actively engaged in legal battles against Planned Parenthood's fraud and in defense of pro-life laws around the country. Take action with us.

Rebekah,

The abortion industry has an extremely powerful ally.

Today, President Obama will become the first sitting president in American history to address Planned Parenthood at its annual conference.

That's right; the President of the United States is addressing the nation's largest abortion provider, the leader of the death industry, just weeks after it argued for the right to kill a child born after a botched abortion.

He is addressing Planned Parenthood even as it attempts to profit off abortionist Kermit Gosnell's trial for murdering babies born alive, arguing for even less regulation of abortion clinics.

President Obama is sending a message.

Let's send our own.

Stand against infanticide. Stand against an abortion industry that will permit no limits on its reach and influence. Stand with us as we fight Planned Parenthood in court and in Congress.

Sign the Petition to De-Fund Planned Parenthood.

Rebekah,

The news just gets worse for Planned Parenthood.

Just weeks after their lobbyist argued in the Florida legislature for the right to kill a child born alive after a botched abortion, we learn what we suspected all along.

Planned Parenthood knew about Philadelphia abortionist Kermit Gosnell's horrifying clinic, where women died and baby after baby was killed after they were born.

They knew and did nothing – leaving it up to Gosnell's victims to come forward.

There is no excuse for this atrocity. And there is no excuse for the fact that Planned Parenthood gets almost half its budget from you, the American taxpayer.

At the ACLJ, we are fighting this taxpayer funding in court, in state legislatures, and in the halls of Congress. But we need your help. Make your voice heard:

No Taxpayer Funding for Planned Parenthood.

Rebekah,

As America recoils from the horror of the trial of abortionist Kermit Gosnell, let's not forget a crucial fact:

Planned Parenthood has argued in the Florida legislature for the “right” to do what Gosnell did -- kill a child after it's born, if the mother and doctor agree.

Astounding.

Even more astounding is the fact that American taxpayers subsidize Planned Parenthood, providing roughly half its budget.

At the ACLJ, we are fighting Planned Parenthood on multiple fronts - filing briefs supporting states that defund Planned Parenthood, directly suing Planned Parenthood for fraud, and working tirelessly in Washington and elsewhere to persuade legislators to cut off all taxpayer funding.

We need your help. Let Congress and the President know that you don't want a single taxpayer dollar to go to an organization that aborts hundreds of thousands of unborn children and fights for the right to abort even after a baby is born.

Sign Our Petition to Defund Planned Parenthood.

Rebekah,

You have spoken for Pastor Saeed. Now it is time to speak to Pastor Saeed.

More than 550,000 people from 180 countries have signed the petition to Save Saeed, the U.S. citizen held hostage in Iran. Your voice has moved the U.S., the European Union, and many others to call for his release.

But as Pastor Saeed's May 7th birthday approaches, it's time to encourage him directly.

At the ACLJ, we've obtained the address of Evin Prison, and our goal is to flood that prison with thousands of messages of encouragement for Pastor Saeed. You write the letter, and we'll deliver it.

These messages will let Pastor Saeed know that we're praying for him and working for his release, and these messages will send a signal to Iran that Americans will never leave him behind.

Go to SaveSaeed.org and write a letter to Pastor Saeed today.

I have heard a discussion about heaven and hell that makes it sound like our works have something to do with it. No matter how much good we do evil is always present, because we have a sin nature. Jesus Christ, the Son of God, was born through a virgin, lived a perfect life, paid the price for our sins on the cross, and rose from the dead. It is His payment for our sins that cleans us. Without the Lord Jesus Christ we cannot be saved.

Rebekah,

Last week, a Planned Parenthood lobbyist argued that Planned Parenthood should have the right to kill a baby born alive after a botched abortion.

When asked what its abortionists would do if a baby was gasping for life on the abortion clinic table, this lobbyist told state legislators, "That decision should be between the patient and the health care provider."

Planned Parenthood believes it is perfectly acceptable to abort a newborn infant.

Despicable.

But this is Planned Parenthood. This is what they stand for. And this is the organization we give hundreds of millions of our tax dollars to prop up – nearly half its annual budget.

The ACLJ is engaged in a multifaceted legal strategy to defund Planned Parenthood, through state legislatures, Congress, and the courts. We have filed two of the nation's largest anti-fraud lawsuits against Planned Parenthood.

We are battling the billion-dollar abortion industry, and winning, but we need your help. Any tax-deductible gift you make today will be doubled toward our pro-life efforts.

Have your gift matched today.

Taking the Gospel to the Maritime Frontier

Far removed from the east coast of India, the Andaman and Nicobar Islands are home to some of the most isolated people groups on the planet. With support from Christian Aid Mission, a local ministry is making in-roads deep within this tropical paradise. Some tribes inhabiting the islands have never had any contact whatsoever with the rest of the world or heard about Jesus Christ.

The Kamberi People of Nigeria

The Kamberi people of Nigeria, a semi-nomadic and mostly illiterate tribe of approximately 200,000, practice a mixture of Islam and idol worship. Their original hostility toward Christianity changed in 2008, however, when Christian Aid-assisted Missionary Crusaders Ministries offered to provide free education to their children and drill wells in their communities. Today, many Kamberi have rejected their idols to follow Christ, and several village chiefs are asking MCM to teach their children.
