Debate & Discuss / Re: Do you think racism is still embedded in law?
« on: June 24, 2013, 07:42:09 am »Message ID: 755327
Good question!!! Although you may want to consider that "racism" and "law" are 2 very relative terms and often misread and misunderstood. In either case, at the end of the day.... they're just IDEAS that are given the power and illusion of "truth" by everyone's AGREEMENT and PARTICIPATION... much like the radio station telling you which song is the "best" on the charts!!!

EXAMPLE: The radio station (media) presents the "idea" that this new song is "the greatest" by playing it over and over and superimposing their "opinionated reviews" of them.... we listen.... and if it actually has a "catchy" enough tune... we'll just AGREE without any rebuttal... or at the least... we wont call them up in mass numbers demanding that they never play that again!!! Or how about even demanding that they VERIFY(validate with first hand knowledge) that this song is indeed the "best"... or be held LIABLE for a false claim(fraud) to the public...?

When you're presented with an IDEA... how do you respond to it...? Do you demand verification and validation... or do you just BLINDLY ACCEPT what "sounds" correct...? You have to be RESPONSIBLE with your own affairs as a man or woman... or be incompetent and subject to SOMEONE ELSE'S IDEAS and RULES!!!

RESPONSIBLE = RESPONSE-ABLE as in ABLE TO RESPOND!!!

I know... a song isn't that important... but the same equation applies to ANY IDEA "presented to you" by some third party(outside influence).... like "racism" or what you "should be doing" as a species in general!!! The problem is NOT the actual IDEA itself.... the problem is in how we(the people) RESPOND when they are presented!!!

As far as these "laws" go.... they're just simply NOT actual LAW!!! They are corporate codes, statues, and policies!!! Any corporate business can create and maintain these.... even the local boy/girl scouts!!! lol.

Keep in mind.... that terms like "white"... "black"... "latino"... "minority"...etc... are all just LABELS and as long as we see ourselves(gods creations)... as these LABELS(corporate creations)... we will continue to be SUBJECT TO all the "rules" and "consequences" that go along with them good or bad!!!

Debate & Discuss / Re: TRUTH be TOLD...??? -jussathought-
« on: June 23, 2013, 05:52:20 pm »Message ID: 755111
It depends on the situation.  Sometimes telling the truth to a person can backfire big time.  If a woman asks you if she is fat, you want to say that she is; hopefully, she won't be too mad.  I had a situation where my ex-husband would not touch me.  I asked him flat out if there was something wrong with me; his response was that it was him and asked me what I would have said if he said there was something wrong with me.  I told him I would have wanted to know what the problem was.  I was tired of fixing my time to suit his anyway.  If a woman goes out and buys a dress and ask you, when she puts it on, how she looks, she is going to be pissed if you tell her she looks like a holy mess in it.  My husband bought a new suit for Father's Day with a bow tie.  I told him he looked handsome because he did.  He is used to wearing ties, so the bow tie was new.  Sometimes, telling the truth is good, and sometimes, it cannot be good.

Interesting.... If a woman is asking for "my opinion" on her "looks"... and they're NOT preferable to ME... how does my 1 OPINION "upset her" as if I spoke undisputed facts...?

Off-Topic / THE 6th ELEMENT-(a short story... tell me if ya like... or get somethin from it)
« on: June 19, 2011, 11:14:08 am »Message ID: 372161
A young reporter was taken prisoner during a war and was now a P.O.W. locked in a cell on enemy grounds. She went days at a time without food and water... and the few times

when a guard would bring her very little...

she would attempt to escape. Every attempt ended with the same results of her being swiftly defeated in hand to hand combat as she was not a soldier with any combat training...

but she felt that her "faith" alone would one day bring her FREEDOM!!!

One day... after a period without water... a rat came to her and spoke...

"What is it you are trying to do girl?" he asked... "What is it you WANT?"

Believing that she must have been hallucinating... she saw no harm in humoring it!!! "I'm trying to escape.... I want my FREEDOM!!!"

The rat looked at her and said "Yes... I can see your faith is strong... but faith alone will NOT bring you freedom from this place." He stepped closer and touched her hand...

RAT: In order to achieve a successful escape from here... you will need to utilize "6 elements of victory"... If you will promise to take me with you... I will show them to you!!!

REPORTER: (laughing) I don't know what's more rediculous... the IDEA of a rat teaching ME something... or that im actually listening to this... FROM THE RAT!!!

She paused for a second... then realized she had nothing to lose!!!

REPORTER: (sarcastically) Ok... "Obi-rat-kinobi".... teach me your 6 elements of victory!!

RAT: The first element is "faith"... which you already hold... but is not quite strong enough. It WILL grow stronger however... once you've learned the other 5. In order to escape... you will need to

COMBINE faith... with purpose!!! When you battle your enemies with "faith"... FOCUS on your PURPOSE!!!

This actually made sense to the reporter... so at the very next opportunity... she did just that... only to be defeated again!!! This time however... she actually managed to best one of the guards in combat!!!

RAT: You were not ready... I told you... you will need ALL 6 elements too escape!!!

REPORTER: I almost made it... but there were too many of them!!! What's next???

RAT: Now... with faith and purpose... you must have a PLAN!!!

The reporter had memorized the way out already and the timing of the guards positions... so it didn't take her long to organize a "route" and "plan" of escape!!! She went over the plan for days until it was

embeded in her instincts!!! At the next opportunity... she tried again... and this time after defeating TWO guards and "eluding" THREE... she made it to the main hall... but was then captured again and defeated.

Badly hurt and tired... she was thrown back in her cell.

REPORTER: I should have escaped... but the guards are too fast and strong!!! I could see the exit this time... and with only 3 of your "elements"... I believe I can do it the NEXT TIME!!!

RAT: Yesss... your faith is getting stronger! But you expect freedom too soon!!! The next TWO... you will need to combine simultaneously... "knowledge".. and "skill"... in short... you must LEARN TO FIGHT!!!

Focus now on your wounds... and remember HOW you got them!!! Turn your enemies attacks on you into KNOWLEDGE about HOW to defeat THEM!!! Then you must PRACTICE what you know until you become SKILLED!!!

The reporter meditated and as best she could... memorized every blow the guards had dealt her... and the more she healed... the more she practiced!!! She didn't try another escape for weeks until she was confident

enough in her abilities!!!

REPORTER: I believe this time... I will have VICTORY!!!

But the rat was gone.

She waited for her opportunity as she always had... then made her move!!! This time she defeated 6 guards and eluded 12... making her way through the final exit...

... and on to FREEDOM!!!

REPORTER: (proudly to herself) I DID IT!!! And with only 5 of the rat's elements!!!

Just then the rat appeared from behind a bush... and before her eyes... transformed into an illumination of light!!!

RAT: I told you I would show you 6 elements of victory... and I have!!!

REPORTER: No you didn't... I remember them all...

FAITH, PURPOSE, PLAN, KNOWLEDGE, and SKILL... that's only five!!! What was the 6th one anyway???

RAT: ...... experience.

« on: June 18, 2011, 02:46:03 pm »Message ID: 371914
For those of you who may practice NOT "taking someone's WORD for it".... as a result of subscribing to the "actions speak LOUDER than words" rule... and find more TRUTH and TRUST in what someone is DOING than what they SAY.....well..... I'd say GOOD START!!!

Keep IN MIND tho.....

There IS such a thing as METHOD ACTING!!!

Wikipedia gives an INTERESTING definition that you may want to CONSIDER..... before so quickly CONGRADULATING and/or TRUSTING someone's ACTIONS!!!

Method acting is a phrase that loosely refers to a family of techniques by which actors try to create in themselves the thoughts and emotions of their characters in an effort to develop lifelike performances. It can be contrasted with more classical forms of acting, in which actors simulate the thoughts and emotions of their characters through external means, such as vocal intonation or facial expression. Though not all Method actors use the same approach, the "method" in Method acting usually refers to the practice, advocated by Lee Strasberg, by which actors draw upon their own emotions and memories in their portrayals, aided by a set of exercises and practices including sense memory and affective memory.      -Wikipedia-

I just read awhile back.... Martin Luther King, Jr. was assassinated on his friend Maya Angelou's birthday on April 4th, 1968. Angelou stopped celebrating her birthday for many years afterward, and sent flowers to King's widow every year until Mrs. King's death in 2006.

It's probably just ME... but I found this interestingly odd!!!

I know people tend to mourn in their OWN ways.... I just think that instead of re-living the annual depressions or sadness.... maybe it's a touch better.....(even symbolically).... to move in the directions "you believe" would have brought a smile to their spirit!!!

Would they WANT YOU to feel annual sadness..... or attempt to "hold on" to the past....... or would a spirit that "loves you" wish HAPPINESS and ADVANCEMENT in your life???

I'd suggest..... Do the things YOU would truly want those you LOVE to be doing.... when YOU leave!!!

I do, and maybe you need too.  If you call yourself a child of God, then you would want to be with other worshipper.  I know, I know, the sinners or in the church as well, but we need them to come.  But yes, I do go to church every Sunday.

Im just curious(and honestly confused)..... but WHY EXACTLY???

It used to...it doesn't anymore.  In person, every person one meets has a unique personality that is revealed through the words they choose, their actions, the way they express themselves.  I think on-line, the way they type is the way they express themselves.  Not everyone is the same age, has the same education, is the same race or has the same IQ.  Everyone will express themselves differently, because they are unique.  Even on-line through typing, I cherish the differences.

I agree. The differences in us all can be the one thing that keeps "reality" alive!!! There is no uniform way to communicate.... no "right or wrong" way either!!! There is only a matter of how you CHOOSE to do it or not!!! You can ABSOLUTELY choose to NOT communicate with someone who is using a certain dialect.... that is your CHOICE and RIGHT!!! Keep in mind though.... that aside from the LANGUAGE and DIALECT you "percieve" to be "correct".... actually being MAN-MADE(no native orgin) itself..... you just may be "missing out" on some valuable information.... due to a silly PREJUDICE.
