The Gospel can be anything that works for the individual.  It can be in many forms

I feel like talking over the internet can be tricky because you can't see my facial expressions or hear my tone but I promise I'm saying the following in a friendly tone with a smile on my face :)

Who told you this or where did you get this information?

So to recap, Revelation is Jehovah:

“I am the Alpha and the Omega,” says the Lord God, “Who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty.”

..and Revelation 22:13 is Jehovah:

“I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End”

So Jehovah is the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End.

My question is.. when did Jehovah die?  Because in Revelation 1:17-18 the First and the Last says He was dead but now is alive forevermore.

What are your plans?

We're ordering this crazy pizza from a local pizzeria where they bake it halfway, top it with up to 5 appetizers, smother it in nacho cheese, and finish baking  :o Hubby is allowing the kids to have some extra dessert, we are all staying up to watch the ball drop and my 9-year-old made some homemade party poppers for each of us lol :)

In Revelation 1:8 who is the Alpha and the Omega?
Jehovah God is.He never had a beginning.

Jesus is his begotten son.Firstborn of all creation and Gods master worker in creation.Bible backs that up.Directly created by Jehovah.

Notice when man was created.......Let US make man in Gods image.

Remember also Jesus was mortal being born twice and did die as a man.Who resurrected him when he died?Obviously his father Jehovah.

I thought so.. so then Revelation 22:13 must also be Jehovah?

To the Corinthian Christians who had already believed and been saved by the gospel, Paul says, "I make known to you the gospel, which you have believed*.. "  He then reinstates the historical facts of the gospel before showing them how those gospel facts apply to their beliefs about the afterlife.  This is actually Paul's approach to various other issues throughout the book of 1 Corinthians.**

How do you minister to friends and loved ones in need?

*1 Corinthians 15:1-4

**This paragraph is an excerpt from A Gospel Primer by Milton Vincent

Off-Topic / The New Testament Model

The New Testament teaches that Christians ought to hear the gospel as much as non-Christians do.  In fact, in the first chapter of Romans the Apostle Paul tells the believers in the church that he was anxious "to preach the gospel to you who are at Rome."  Of course, he was anxious to preach the gospel to the non-Christians at Rome, yet he specifically states that he was eager to preach it to believers as well.

Do you preach the gospel to yourself daily?  I never used to but it was suggested many times throughout my Christian walk.  Then, one day I was listening to a sermon by Paul Washer and he was saying how he speaks with my young "Christians" who grew up in conservative homes and he would ask them, are you a Christian? and they would respond by saying, "I'm trying to be."

That made me afraid for my kids.  I don't want that to be their answer.  I want them to have a crystal clear understanding of the gospel so I began taking them through A Gospel Primer by Milton Vincent and, oh my goodness, I have been so blessed you guys.  My kids have been enjoying it to and, honestly, as of right now, I plan on going through it over and over again until they're old enough to study the Bible on their own.

The first paragraph in this post is the first paragraph from that book (A Gospel Primer) and I was thinking, because I've been so blessed by it, I thought I would share it with you guys as well and maybe you would be blessed, too.

To be honest, I know some have mentioned that they're don't seem to be paying to post right now but I'd like to try anyway and I have 4 more posts to do after this one (I might be close to reaching my limit for a 24 hour period) so I might bust a couple posts out today but after that maybe it would be nice for me to just post one every day.  Even if just 1 person is encouraged I'll be grateful  :heart: I've been told I have the gift of encouragement and it DEFINITELY is something I love to do so  :heart: yeah  :)

Donnamarg323, I have always wanted to ask a JW this question but I haven't had a chance yet.  I'm very curious about your experience with going door to door.  Is it scary?  Are people rude?  Do you get turned away a lot?  How has Covid affected your approach to witnessing?

I wanted to share this quote by C.J. Mahoney (from his book The Cross Centered Life, 20-21)

"If there's anything in life that we should be passionate about, it's the gospel.  And I don't mean passionate only about sharing it with others.  I mean passionate about thinking about it, dwelling on it, rejoicing in it, allowing it to color the way we look at the world.  Only one thing can be of first importance to each of us.  And only the gospel ought to be."

".. the gospel.. of first importance.."
1 Corinthians 15:1, 3

Even if you're not a Christian you have to admit this is pretty frickin sweet.

In the book of Genesis (chapter 5) there's a genealogy with the names listed in a certain order (I won't bore you but, for example, Adam was the father of Seth, Seth became the father of Enosh, etc, etc.  Look it up if you want, it begins in verse 3).  When you put those names in order (as they are listed ) and translate them using Strong's Concordance (revealing the Hebrew meaning of the names) this is what they say (so crazy you guys):

Adam = man (is)
Seth = appointed
Enosh = mortal
Kenan = sorrow (but)
Mahalalel = the blessed God
Jared = shall come down
Enoch = teaching
Methuselah = his death shall bring
Lamech = (the) despairing
Noah = comfort, rest

HOW CRAZY IS THAT?!!  We have the gospel message hidden in the first book of the Bible.

Man (is) appointed (to) mortal sorrow; (but) the Blessed God shall come down teaching; His death shall bring the despairing rest, or comfort.

Now I didn't study this myself too extensively so please don't take my word for it, I'm sharing what I've been taught by others but I did think it was pretty neat.  Regardless, one truth I am willing to teach with confidence is the message of the gospel, whether it's hidden in Genesis 5 or not.

Gospel.  n.  (god, good + spec, news) good news of salvation for hell-deserving sinners through the Person and work of Jesus Christ.

Is this new to anyone?!
All scripture is inspired by God and beneficial for teaching,reproving and setting matters straight.2nd Tim 3:16

The main theme of the  bible is Gods kingdom <government>who he has appointed his son Jesus as king of it and to vindicate Jehovah as the TRUE God and rightful sovereign of the universe after Satan challenged his right to rule.

See, when I read the Bible I see a main theme of redemption - the Lord saving His people from their sin.  It's on every page!

I try to be showered and looking presentable every day. I am working at staying at a good weight, although being 50 has killed my metabolism. Ugh. I usually only wear make up when we go out or go to church. I do think it is important to try and look nice.

Oooh, really?!  I'm 30 and I struggle to stay a healthy weight.  I have to make sure I make a conscious effort every day to eat or I'll be 10 lbs underweight.  People say, "Oh, must be nice!" but I feel like it's just like someone struggling with obesity, just the other direction.  Sometimes I get anxious because I think, 'Darn.  Gotta force feed myself again even though I'm not hungry.'  It's hard sometimes.
