Off-Topic / Baby Ducks
« on: May 21, 2020, 09:59:16 am »Message ID: 1325564
We have a pond in our community.  To appease our HOA I had my "lawn guy" redo my big flower & shrub bed to remove weeds and put down a new stone border.  While working on this he discovered a mama duck and what looked like 20-30 eggs back up into the hedge.  Someone put a picture up on the community website of what I think was this mama duck and a whole slew of baby ducks some are yellow and some are black like her heading to the pond.  So very adorable.

Off-Topic / Never experienced anything like this

I just don't get it.  I went to the store yesterday and no one hardly was wearing a mask or practicing social distancing and people were being rude.  I went in the early afternoon which as long as they have a senior hour in the early morning that is the only time I would go from now on.  People were leaning over me to get stuff instead of waiting a minute.  It was awful and definitely distressing.

Off-Topic / Hoping it is not a big mistake

Well my state, Florida is in phase one for reopening the state, restaurants, etc.  I am personally not going to change anything about what I am doing because I think we are still in health danger but everyone can do what they want to do.  Odd I just got a news text on my phone this morning that the numbers are being under-reported.  So I guess I am still gonna be staying at home.  Do you think things are on the upswing?

Off-Topic / What the heck?
« on: April 18, 2020, 01:33:35 pm »Message ID: 1321417
I got a letter from my communities HOA about a few dry spots on my lawn.  What is wrong with these people.  Now if I started throwing trash out there or junk cars I could understand but I am 66 years old, have multiple serious health issues and we are supposed to be staying at home.  The letter was harsh and bordered on threatening.  I will never feel the same about my neighborhood again.  I texted the HOA president and let her know that my lawn guy would be back soon attending to the lawn and let her know I didn't under the current circumstances appreciate the harshness of the letter or considering it was my first notification.  It is like business as usual even if it isn't.

Off-Topic / Who knew?
« on: April 09, 2020, 11:21:00 am »Message ID: 1320339
Who knew getting a package of toilet paper could make a person so happy lol.  Yesterday I was in the drive thru pharmacy line at my grocery and called to see if the manager would let someone run me out a pack of tp because while I was in line I kept seeing people go to their cars with toilet paper.  I am not supposed to go in the store especially if it is crowded and they did because I had cash.  It truly in all seriousness was a blessing.  Are you guys running short of anything?  This is quite the situation.

Off-Topic / Hopes and prayers for better days
« on: April 05, 2020, 11:52:31 am »Message ID: 1319772
Here are hopes and prayers for better days for all of us.  I am 66 years old and have never seen a situation quite like this virus before.  I am in Florida and in a definite 30 day hunkering down in my house.  In some ways because of mobility issues this isn't much different than normal life for me but it is different.  I am really afraid to go out and hope our food conservation efforts will help me not have to - well again take care and be safe folks.

Off-Topic / This cruise thing is .....
« on: April 01, 2020, 11:28:46 am »Message ID: 1319085
Oh my gosh so SICK of hearing about stupid cruise ships wanting someone to let them dock in a port (most of them Florida where I am) why the government let those ships even go out that recently was total and complete ignorance and the people who got on them afraid of losing a few dollars or whatever their motivation was is beyond my comprehension.  I try to say live and let live but I do not understand not using a little wisdom in the decisions we make.  What is your opinion?

Off-Topic / Down to nothing
« on: March 29, 2020, 11:09:40 am »Message ID: 1318611
I am down to just about nothing on all my earning sites.  So I do what little I can and then go watch television.  It is very disheartening though because it isn't just the loss of earnings but how I spend a lot of my day.  Oh well we shall keep on keeping on.

Off-Topic / Trying to remain positive
« on: March 28, 2020, 12:09:02 pm »Message ID: 1318464
I am trying to remain positive but feel like gloom and despair are trying to set in......I mean I am typically a positive person and because of my health and mobility issues tend to stay home a lot but for some reason this "never ending" staying at home is getting on my nerves.  I have gone to the store a couple of times but just don't know if I should the longer this goes on.  How are you guys making it?

Off-Topic / Cruises
« on: March 28, 2020, 10:51:23 am »Message ID: 1318451
Another cruise ship is "adrift" so to speak with no port allowing them to dock.  I don't understand people continuing to cruise or ships continuing to have cruises.  I hate being like this but where is wisdom.  Especially a family member talking about a mid 70's couple from Tallahassee Florida is on this Holland cruise with no where to land.  Sad but ………………..to me getting on that ship after what happened to other cruise ships is akin to Russian roulette.

Off-Topic / Darn still no Tap Survey credit
« on: March 27, 2020, 10:46:25 am »Message ID: 1318341
Well just got up and immediately did a 10 cent survey successfully but didn't change anything.  So discouraging.  Its bad enough staying home because I am now staying home 24/7 due to health issues and age.  Oh well.

Off-Topic / Amazon Truck robbery
« on: March 23, 2020, 11:59:09 am »Message ID: 1317902
:(  An Amazon truck got robbed of 60 packages by armed robbers in Atlanta GA.  Oh my gosh this world is going to heck in a handbasket as my granny would say...……..the amount of evil and wrongdoing in this world let's just say in the U.S. alone is extremely disturbing.  Ethics and morals have seemingly gone out the window but with that said there is still GOOD and KIND left thank goodness.

Off-Topic / Toilet Paper Grrrrrrr
« on: March 23, 2020, 11:45:23 am »Message ID: 1317901
When I read don't hoard toilet paper there is going to be no shortage of it I should have gone right out and stockpiled a bunch because I am now resorting to doing some major conservation efforts on what I do have available.  I go early to my store tomorrow in a reserved time for senior citizens so I am hoping and praying I can at least get one package.  LOL 66 years old and have always used as much TP as I wanted.  Are any of you low stocked on TP?
