Off-Topic / donations and big oil

Hello everyone I have been following what has been going on in the congress and it seems that big oil has won again the subsidies and tax breaks that they get have been voted in again ....

Senator Brown from MA voted for not repealing these tax breaks HOW can he and others do that upon further research of course he received donations from oil for his campaign.....

Donn't donations mean a tax deduction for whomever gives it??

People out in FC land How do you feel.... What are your state representatives doing... Shouldn't they be held accountable for putting the Oil Companies before the American people???      Click here to see what your elected officials are taking from the big oil companies

I am all for young boys and girls getting involved with sports maybe schools should make it mandatory but my question is what is tooooo young to start them in sports, is 7 or 8 year olds to young for football.  What do you think?

Off-Topic / self-clean oven

I know this is crazy and has nothing to do with the FC but here goes: if you have one,self-clean oven, do not use it I turned my on today and the heat and the smell is unbearable making my eyes water and now I have canceled the operation and I am waiting for the door to unlock as the oven is way to hot. So has anyone else had this kind of problem? I have turned on every fan and opened all the windows which is 2 I live in a condo. This was suppose to be helpful I will never use this feature again. uck uck uck wonder how long before my condo will smell normal.

On occasion I take care of my 3 grandsons, this particular day I was left with a very angry Dad that had instituted a punishment for his son that he really was not able to follow through on.  He told me what had happened and if his son talked with me about what happened he could come out of his room otherwise he was suppose to stay in his room all day, difficult at best to do, he also had had no breakfast my initial reaction was to go what the heck, no, but I bit my tongue, my son-in-law went to work and I was left with playing a role I did not want as mediator. It worked out but I was a little miffed about the whole thing.
That was long but I hope you all have some ideas as what to do the next time  Help FC ers

In two days I will be 64 not a milestone as I have an Uncle turning 90 now that is a huge milestone.

What does everyone do for your birthday at this age is it a cause for celebration???
Do you celebrate or is it just another day??

Well with the help of my fellow Forum members maybe someone would have an answer or a suggestion to:
I have been very busy cleaning and discarding all papers receipts tax returns old checking accounts I have stuff that went back to 1999 so what do you keep and for how long some have said for 5 yrs and others for 7 yrs but it is so much paper do you keep everything or just tax returns and maybe medical stuff or anything you may have had to file legally I am in a quandry as to who is right  So any ideas or responses will be appreciated I did get rid of the 1999 stuff maybe I should put it on a cd??

Has anyone seen the documentary Food Inc. I have only watched parts of it and was a little shocked about how chickens are grown? To fatten them up in 3 months they are filled with hormones and who knows what else the part I saw was pretty shocking just another instance of big business just concerned with the bottom line and a HUGE reason for us all to read the labels before we buy if you cann't pronounce it what is it doing in our food What happened to homegrown and real and natural?  What does everyone feel about this?

Hi everyone,
I have to just get this off my chest.... why is it that people cannot use their ashtray instead the ashes are flicked out the window worse yet is when the cigarette butt is flick out the window or dropped out like no one can see  it being done.   This is especially annoying if you are the one with your windows down because it is a beautiful day out driving behind them. Enough said just use the ashtray that is why they are in cars still My intent is not to offend any smokers just would like to know why and does anyone else have issue with this? :-

As the saying goes if you do not like the weather wait awhile and it will change I grew up with that saying but today is record breaking 90 degrees and still climbing and it is not the end of May I am glad I live a short car ride to the ocean cannot wait I heading there shortly
