Off-Topic / My Computer DIED....had to buy a new one...
« on: February 09, 2011, 06:48:01 pm »Message ID: 311934
My desktop computer died.....the harddrive burnt out or something like that.

Anyway, today I am the proud owner of a new laptop.

Good, except I lost all my bookmarks, my Roboform, and  cannot get into Skype again.

This might take me awhile to get back online.

Any suggestions from anyone about how to retrieve what was on the old burnt out computer?
Thanks in advance!

Janet

Hello to all you FusionCash friends,

I just wanted to share my excitement.  Our son has arrived on USA soil!  He has landed in Dallas and is now waiting to fly to Ft. Riley in Kansas so he can be home for his 2 week R&R leave from Kuwait.

In less than a week he will be a daddy, so this is an extra special R&R for him!

I just HAD to share :)

Off-Topic / New Ways of STEALING.....Information to Protect yourself--
« on: September 13, 2010, 05:02:10 am »Message ID: 236373
I received an email that opened my eyes about how much we have to be aware of so our Credit Card information isn't stolen.
It is a little long, so I am making multiple posts.  We really have to be careful these days.

PART 1:

New ways of Stealing - VERY IMPORTANT

SCENE 1.
A friend went to the local gym and placed his belongings
in the locker. After the workout and a shower, he came out,
saw the locker open, and thought to himself, 'Funny,
I thought I locked the locker..
Hmm, 'He dressed and just flipped the wallet to make
sure all was in order.
Everything looked okay - all cards were in place...
A few weeks later his credit card bill came -
a whooping bill of $14,000!
He called the credit card company and started
yelling at them, saying that he did not  make
       the transactions.
Customer care personnel verified that
there was no Mistake in the system and asked
if his card had been stolen..
'No,' he said, but then took out his
wallet, pulled out the credit card, and yep -
you guessed it - a switch had been made.
An expired similar credit card from
the same bank was in the wallet.
The thief broke into his locker at the gym
and switched cards.
Verdict: The credit card issuer said since
he did not report the card missing earlier,
he would  have to pay the amount owed
to them.
How much did he have to pay for items
he did not buy?
$9,000! Why were there no calls made to
       verify the amount swiped?
Small amounts rarely trigger a 'warning bell'
with some credit card companies.
It just so happens that all the small amounts
added up to big one!

Off-Topic / Re: Money Saving Tricks
« on: August 01, 2010, 06:05:39 am »Message ID: 214792
I just made my own laundry detergent, and it works better than anything I have ever bought at the store, and SO MUCH CHEAPER. I am just sick of all the money I wasted before. I sued the Fels Naptha Laundry bar soap, Washing Soda, and 20 mule team borax. Just google Homemade Laundry detergent. You will find several recipes.

I would never have thought of this!

My husband has been trying different brands of laundry detergent as he has been breaking out with a rash lately.

I wonder how the homemade soap recipies are for allergies, etc.

Off-Topic / One Certain Site will not load! Help!!
« on: June 05, 2010, 07:00:25 am »Message ID: 188568
Hello to all on FusionCash,

I have a website that I am trying to access that keeps coming up "Firefox can't find the server at "NameofWebsite.com"

[NOTE:  NameofWebsite is not the website---I didn't want to put a real link in FusionCash]

The link worked for me last week but I have not been able to get it to come up since last weekend.

It is a members only site and password protected, but I can't even get the page to come up so I can enter the id and password. I also tried to access the page on Internet Explorer but had the same no luck results:  "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage"..

Every other webpage I have tried to access works just not this one. I know it is a working page because I have had other people try it from different locations and it comes up for them.

I run Avira Antivirus - which does an automatic shutdown every night.  I normally run CClearner every morning and then Advanced System Care.

Can anyone in FusionCash help me??  Thanks!

No Cash coming in here right now.

Off-Topic / FLORIDA COURT SETS ATHEIST HOLY DAY
« on: April 01, 2010, 08:12:50 am »Message ID: 156804
FLORIDA COURT SETS ATHEIST HOLY DAY
Submitted by Johnnie M.

In  Florida, an atheist created a case against the upcoming Easter and Passover Holy days.  He hired an
attorney to bring a discrimination case against Christians and Jews and observances of their holy days.

The argument was that it was unfair that atheists had no such recognized days.

The case was brought before a judge.  After listening to  the passionate presentation by the lawyer, the judge
banged his gavel declaring, "Case dismissed!"

The lawyer immediately stood objecting to the ruling saying, "Your honor, How can you possibly dismiss this
case?  The Christians have Christmas, Easter and others..  The Jews have Passover, Yom Kippur and
Hanukkah, yet my client and all other atheists have no such holidays."

The judge leaned forward in his chair saying, "But you do. Your client, counsel, is woefully ignorant."

The lawyer said, "Your Honor, we are unaware of any special observance or holiday for atheists."

The judge said, "The calendar says April 1st is April Fools Day. Psalm
14:1 states, 'The fool says in his heart, there is no God.'  Thus, it is the opinion of this court, that, if your client
says there is no God, then he is a fool. Therefore, April 1st is his day. Court is adjourned.."

Off-Topic / Winter Weather

The weatherman says "Don't be fooled by the weather conditions right now.  We are in the eye of the storm."

We could get 1-2 inches of snow per hour with winds starting this afternoon and through tomorrow into Saturday.

It doesn't sound like a good forecast for holiday travelers.

PLEASE BE CAREFUL if you have to travel.
