Off-Topic / Buying & Selling On Line
« on: January 12, 2010, 07:12:07 pm »Message ID: 129175
I buy and sell different items from a couple of well known websites.  I have had many good experiences but I have to say there are an incredible amount of creeps and weirdoes out there.    This includes both buyers and sellers.  A lot of the people are fakes and flakes:  spammers and scammers.  Recently I sold several small rugs on line.  I received about 80 responses.  About 75 of the respondents were fakes and flakes.  I only had about five who were real and sincere but those five came and bought everything I had.  Despite the fakes and flakes, I have met some really nice people doing this.  But you have to be very cautious.
Have others had similar experiences?

Has anyone downloaded the Face Fun toolbar?  I am not all that tech savvy.  I have a mac.  I am always concerned about downloading software.  Is there any chance that I could screw up something on my computer?

Off-Topic / Chinese New Year

Happy Chinese New Year.  It is 25 degrees and going down to 18 -- the coldest night in 15 years in Austin, Texas.  I just got home from work and it sure feels good to be inside a warm apartment.  I feel for the homeless and very poor.

Well, I tried the daily s again and still did not qualify.  I have never once qualified.  For those folks who do qualify, what are the surveys like?  How long did they take?  What were they about?  I am assuming that I never qualify because I work in Market Research but I wonder if it is because I have no children or do not own a vehicle.  For those who do qualify, do you have children, own a vehicle etc etc etc.   I wonder what it takes to qualify for a daily.   :BangHead:

Off-Topic / Medicare
« on: January 04, 2010, 09:06:06 pm »Message ID: 126305
I am going on Medicare March 1st so I am spending a lot of time learning about Medicare.  And researching a secondary insurance company.  Medicare customer service has been wonderful.  You can call them 24/7.  It is easy to get thru and they spend a lot of time with you.  I have learned a lot.  But they can not recommend a secondary insurance company.  I was wondering if anyone on FS has had personal experience with Medicare.  And can share some words of advice when it comes to a secondary insurance company.  I am aware that there are different plans in different states and even within counties in the same state.

Support / Reward TV

I clicked on the Reward TV offer and found that I was already a member.  I have no memory of when I joined or how I joined.  It could have been through FS or it could have been through another site.   And when I joined I do not know.   I just do not recall.  But I was already a member.  I have played two trivia games more than once but I have never been credited.  Is it because I was already a member?  Is there any way to get credited?  Can I cancel my Reward TV membership for now, then re-join and play two trivia games and get credited?

Off-Topic / New Year Television Watching
« on: January 01, 2010, 03:12:52 pm »Message ID: 125178
As a rule, TV programming is not very good on New Year's Eve or New Year's Day.  New Year's Eve in Times Square can get a little boring and I am not a sports fan.  But by surfing the channels, I ended up watching a couple of interesting documentaries.  I watched a doc on Patty Hearst on New year's Eve on MSNBC and on New Year's Day, I watched a doc on modern day pirates and pirating on Fox.   They were both very interesting and informative.

I was going to begin a poll.  And then realized that I could not find the "create a poll" tab.   I found it once.  And I looked all over and can not find it again.   How do I begin a poll?

Off-Topic / Good Luck Foods
« on: December 31, 2009, 10:08:43 am »Message ID: 124703
Well, I am already cooking up and eating some foods that are said to bring you good luck in the New Year.  I have roasted and tasted a cabbage head.  I have eaten some herring and later some black eyed peas.    Any other suggestions on what I should eat to guarantee me good luck in 2010?

I have always enjoyed the entertainment and news links on Paid to Click.  But it is time to update them.  They are old.

I can recommend Greenfield Online which is one of the sponsors of Paid to Click.  I am familiar with Greenfield by working in Market Research.   I know that they are legit.

Support / referral links and the rules
« on: December 26, 2009, 06:48:40 am »Message ID: 123147
I am a little confused about referral links and the rules.    I have read them more than once.  If I write about buying something from such and such a site or selling something on such and such a site, is that considered a referral link.   Am I breaking the rules?  Because I sometimes want to write about the fun of buying jewelry grab bags from a specific site or the frustrations about selling some jewelry from a specific site but I do not want to do it if I am breaking the rules.
