Off-Topic / Re: what kind of sea food do u like best

My favorite seafood is Alaskan King Crab, drawn with hot, golden brown butter.  It just drives me nuts!!!  I could eat crab all day long.  My next favorite has to lobster.  Here is my only problem with both of my favorites.  Both items must be from the North Atlantic near Boston of further up the coast.  The colder the water that fish are caught in, the better the taste is of that particuliar item.  Trust me, I know.  I use to live in Hawaii and went scuba diving almost every Sunday morning.  We would go lobster fishing and would eat them on the beach after the last scuba diver was done fishing.  The warn water lobster was okay, but it was not as tasty as the good ole Maine lobster.

My favorite is Fringe.  It is just so amazing, fast, and futuristic.  I don't know what I would do if they took it off the air.  My second favorite is House.  House is very funny and it involves real life stories which I really like.

Off-Topic / Re: Have you ever been on a cruise?
« on: January 13, 2011, 08:18:42 am »Message ID: 298584
We took a Carnival cruise about a dozen years ago.  It left from Miami and went to Cancun, Grand Caymen & Jamaica over a period of 7 days.  It was a wonderful time and I loved every minute of it.  We went in May and had beautiful weather through the whole trip.

We went on the exact same cruise about five years ago.  We had a great time.  In my opinion, Carnival caters to both kids and teenagers.  However, your best bet is to get on the internet and check some cruise lines to find out which one best meets your requirements.

Off-Topic / Re: Shopping for Severe Extreme Weather Conditions

My Daughter and I were out doing some shopping Saturday in preperation for the Winter Storm System that was supposed to hit the following night ( it did).  We noticed that ths shelfs that were cleaned out were the frozen goods and refrigerated goods and I made the comment to my daughter, "What are those folks gonna do when the power goes out?"  So my question is what are the things you shop for in preperation for a severe or extreme weather system.  We stocked up on batteries, canned goods, bread, and bottled water.

Your stockage items are good and they will get you by for a winter storm.  I live in Pinehurst, NC, so we do not get a lot of bad weather.  However, the recent snow storm did pound us pretty good.  We were already prepared by having the same things on hand that you have.  The only other thing I would be sure to have on hand is some type of heating source, i.e., gas fire-place or a propane canister with a heating element on it to keep you very warm.  It sure is nice to be warm and snug during an electrical outage.

Off-Topic / Re: Gun Laws

This particular incident does not have anything to do with the current gun laws.  This nut would have gotten a weapon legally or il-legally to complete his mission in life.  If he obtained the weapon legally, I don't see a problem with it.  If he met the Arizona gun reguirements, then so be it.  It probably means that all of his background was checked and he was legally allowed to buy one.  He never had a mental problem that was documented anywhere, and thus he would have been allowed to buy the weapon.

I like to walk my dog every day for about 20 minutes or so.  I can easily do this during the summer months, but the winter months are a killer.  During the winter, I do walk the dog for about 5-10 minutes and then I walk up and down the steps in our house anywhere from 5-10 times.  Because of my disabilities, I think I am doing all I can do during both times of season.

Now really, who gives a xxxx about Parris Hilton.  I did not know that I was suppose to envy her and her nutty friends.  If she does what you claim, which I do believe, then she needs to have her head examined or be locked up for fraud, waste, and abuse.  She does not influence what I do.  She is not a role model for any person to admire and thus, we should just leave her out of the lime light all together.

When it gets really cold outside, I usually turn on the gas fireplace and stand near it for a couple of minutes until I get nice and toasty.  I then run to my single cup coffe maker and drop a K-cup of hot chocalte in it and bam, I get a nice cup of hot chocalte.  I take the hot chocalate, with tiny marsh-mellows in it, and sit on the couch with a nice warm blanket and turn on the television.  This is my story and I wish to stick to it.   :)

Hell no!!!  No money for college atheletes.  Their primary reason for being in school is for the education not to make money playing a sport.  Paying these guys is very dangerous.  Money does a lot of things to people and usually those are bad things.  These players need to learn self-discipline and giving them money is not the way to do it.

We have some very mentally ill people in this country.  This guy is one of them.  He has never been helped and probably never asked for help.  There is no doubt in my mind, that his friends and other folks that may have known him, knew that he was very sick, but chose not to do anything about it. This guy will be given the death penalty and he surely deserves it.  Whether or not they actually kill him or not, is another question.  Perhaps killing this guy does less good than letting him rot in prison.

Off-Topic / Re: Subway Or Quiznos....Which Franchise Makes The Best Sub?

I like Subway much more than Quiznos.  I must admitt that I do like Quiznos toasted bread a lot, but Subway has many more options as far as subs go.  I love Subway's meatball sub the best.  As far as price goes, Subway's $5.00 foot long is very hard to beat.

I was eleven years old and I had my own paper route.  Back then, all young boys had a paper route at one time in their life.  That was before our country turned into a sick and dangerous place.  You do not see kids delivering paper anymore.  Thanks to my first job, I learned what responsibility was all about.

Yes, smoking should be allowed in public places.  I should be able to smoke a cig on the sidewalk of a street that I am walking up and down on.  Five years ago, I received a $25.00 ticket for doing just the same on a street in San Fransico.  How ridiculious is that?   ???

I was such a poor student in grade school and high school, that I never really had any favorite classes.  If I really did have a favorite class it was my Typing class.  I was really fast and accurate on those typewriters!  In college, my favorite subject was Criminal Law.  Great question!!!

I have more accquantiences then friends.  If you end up with one good friend in your life time then that is pretty good.  Friends are far, few, and between

Agreed!  I have many, many acquaintances, but only one true friend.  I can tell him just about anything and not have to worry about him telling other people. I have so many acquaintances, that I can't even count them.  I can tell them things, but certainly not the things that are very personal.
