Off-Topic / Re: SAVING $$$ ON YOUR HEATING/ ELECTRIC BILL
« on: November 13, 2010, 03:21:00 am »Message ID: 268596
I'm trying to save on my electric bill and I saw this advertisement for those amish heaters that look like fireplaces on wheels that you can roll to any room.  They claim that you can save money on your electric bill using these fireplace heaters.  Has anyone tried them and does it actually work and did you save money???

I bought one of the heaters you are talking about but it is not the fireplace verison.  It works real good.  I shut off the bedrooms I don't use and that way I don't have to heat the whole house.  In this day and time we have to cut corners where ever we can.   My son and his wife have a wood stove to heat with.  All they have to do is cut wood and theirs friends has always let them have trees that have blown down or have had cut down.

I wanted to take a moment to thank our veterans for their service.  I know we are all busy in our daily lives and despite your opinion on war and conflict please take a moment to show your appreciation to those that have served and those that are serving.  Thank you Vets.

I would love to find a really good one so I could make some extra income. I do some things now on the internet but nothing pays me tons of money.  I wish I could make an extra $500 a month.  That would be great.

I know what you mean.   I had to find another job after I retired, SS is not enough for me to live on.   I need something to make money on so I will not have to work.  Thanks everyone for the suggestions.

« on: November 03, 2010, 04:06:21 am »Message ID: 263382
I haven't been on vacation in so many years.  Really don't have a favorite place, have never been able to really afford one.

I like to go to Panama City Beach, Fla.   I went there last year and had a good time.  Only trouble there, it rained every day.  But the sun came out everyday and we enjoyed it.

Off-Topic / Re: If you could play any instrument, what would it be?

I have seriously thought about playing the French Horn.  The notes it plays are such a mellow sound and the range of the instrument is extraordinary.

I played the clarinet in school, but I always wanted to learn to play the piano, but am too old now.

Off-Topic / Re: artificial or real fingernails?
« on: October 31, 2010, 03:15:09 am »Message ID: 261593
Fake nails are not good for you.  I went to nail school and believe me they damage your real nails.  when you apply the fake ones your natural nails loose the ability to breathe properly and tend to get infected or disintegrate.  if you must have fake ones my advice would be to get silk wrap nails.  they are the lesser of the evils.

I use to wear fake nails a long time ago.  But they are hard to work in and would fall off and then they would look a mess.  My own nails grow out ot a certain lenght now and look a whole lot better.
